I know they're not ranked, but Khamzat has beaten 2 legit middleweights: John Phillips (his first UFC fight) and Gerald Meerschaert III. I agree he should have a better MW resume, but his skill level has won him enough prestige that it'll be financially viable to give him a title fight, and for good or bad that is what matters to them.

not sure I agree with Khamzat getting a middleweight title shot without beating any middleweights. I think he'd need to fight a top contender like Vettori, Cannonier first.
I know they're not ranked, but Khamzat has beaten 2 legit middleweights: John Phillips (his first UFC fight) and Gerald Meerschaert III. I agree he should have a better MW resume, but his skill level has won him enough prestige that it'll be financially viable to give him a title fight, and for good or bad that is what matters to them.
