It is an awful conspiracy/theory I believe was made up and uploaded here on RUclips by a user called KittyWow. This KittyWow, didn't make that statement herself but got it from somebody else.

Because he didn’t leave a note, here’s why I think he left us (based on info we got from his friends) : I think he got tired of his life. I don’t think he thought anything like “nobody loves me anymore and I feel like nobody cares about me.” Because let’s be honest, everyone loved him for his amazing acting and I mean he was beautiful inside and out. I think if it was something deep in feelings like that, I think he would’ve left a note. I think he just got tired of his life and felt depressed that he didn’t get anymore roles. I think he thought he was not going to go anywhere anymore and thought there was no purpose in life. I don’t think it was like anything deep or anything, I think he just got tired and wanted to leave. I think he felt defeated and it’s hard to explain, I just don’t think he wanted to be here anymore. I think he was just honestly getting tired of life and didn’t want to be on the world anymore. I don’t know, i think once he got his Harts War role cancelled, he felt defeated and thought he would never get another good role. Poor thing, it’s a shame, he probably could’ve ended up with more roles if he just stayed with us a little longer. He’s in a better place though, so that’s good. Let’s be happy he existed, not sad he’s gone.
Also, Jonathan’s birthday is coming up on Monday , so i wanted to wish him a happy 44th birthday and I hope you celebrate your birthday with all the other angels in heaven
I'm sure most of us would like to assume that was one of the reasons why he wanted to commit suicide but let's be real here, no one will never know why Jonathan did it, he would've had the answer to that.
Edit: Jonathan did made other films after Harts War which were The Year That Trembled, Between The Sheets, The Slainville Boys, Bad Girls From Valley High (it was actually produced in 2000 but due to certain reasons was released in 2005, two years after Jonathan's death), and Puerto Vallarta Squeeze (his actual last acting role).

Two in fact. One for his closet cousin and one for Greg and Mary.
The family did not want the notes to be released for their own personal reasons. I came across this information on another site.
There have always been rumours about the existence of a note and it has been unofficially confirmed.
That is proof enough for me.
Oh, and the person who posted that information was a close relative of Jonathan.

Jonathan Brandis is not the first star to have had a fall from fame; many many many have, the vast majority of which survived. Especially being a non-intoxication death, Brandis' is a rather unique case, one for the psychologists.

I'm not trying to come on here as rude when I say this and I mean no disrespect but, I seen a video a few years ago that said the real reason he was depressed and committed suicide is because when he was a young child star he was molested by a few producers/directors in the movie industry. And as time went on he never gotten therapy to help with those tragic memories which caused for his depression to worsen over time and eventually he couldn't take it anymore. As I stated before, I mean no disrespect by saying this. Just sharing some information I've heard in the past that i thought was interesting.

I remember I found out about his suicide three years after it happened. VH1 was doing some kind of special about child stars and when they mentioned Jonathan Brandis, I was shocked. I wasn't a fan of his but I didn't hate him and respected his work and talent. I saw two of his films in the theaters; "Ladybugs" and "Sidekicks". Both were good and I enjoyed them. He was good in both films. I later saw him on "seaQuest DSV" on the Sci Fi Channel back when I had a crush on Ted Raimi who was also in "seaQuest" around 1998. Couple years later, around 2001, I saw Jonathan Brandis in "Ride with the Devil" also starring Tobey Maguire of "Spiderman" fame. I didn't recognize Jonathan in that film at first because he had a beard and long hair. I didn't hear or see anything from Jonathan Brandis until that VH1 special. My heart broke and I was in shock finding out. I will never forget him and now a fan of his...I know, too little, too late. I remember back in the early 90s when I used to buy those teen magazines for Christian Slater, I used to see Jonathan's pictures in them. We don't know what was going on inside of Jonathan's mind when he took his life. I read he was cremated and given to family.
I have depression and had it for a long time. When my best friend died, it made it worse. I haven't reached the point of leaving this world behind although there are some days when I say that I can't wait to leave this place (the world) but never take action on it.
Yeah Jonathan, bless his soul, he was an angel. I really appreciate and respect everything he did as a filmmaker and actor.
Also I’m really sad to hear about your situation with depression, I can relate with you on that aspect, I’ve been taking a break for a few weeks now to focus on myself. But I’m telling you now you’re worth so much okay? Life is hard, people are mean, and you get your hopes down, but please don’t give up. I believe in you. ❤️

Shocked only just seen this from the UK so many young people in films etc have died not only Jonathan but Corey Haim Brad Renfro. And River phoenix. Hollywood is so cruel 😠
I am very aware of that fact, Hollywood had mistreated so many young actresses and actors over the past 30 decades it’s unbelievable. Once I have time in my personal life to make a script for a video within this series I’ll make one on Corey Haim.
To be fair, River Phoenix and Brad Renfro were both messed up by terrible or non-existent parenting before they ever worked in Hollywood. River's parents were braindead hippy retreads who set no boundaries for him, while Brad was left with his grandmother who understandably was in no position to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Just found out today that he took his own life back in "03. I was watching some of my favourite scenes from "Sidekicks"(Johnathan's brilliant comedy with Chuck Norris) and wondering what ever happened to him. He was so good as an actor. Its really tough to see your contemporaries thrive while you struggle. Depression is no joke but we have to guard our hearts against envy and selfish ambitions.

it is rumored that jonathan had bipolar depression. although this is just a rumor, i could completely see that he would have had this. many times, watching his movies i could see sadness in his eyes. i have also dealt with major depression, ocd, and extreme anxiety and can sense the sadness. but along with this and the downfall of his career, he was prescribed the drug ‘accutane’ which is a very intense drug to help acne which comes with many side effects. this must have pushed him over the edge with what he was dealing with, and caused him to kill himself. so so so sad i miss him everyday. what a great guy❤️😭 rip

It is not a rumour Jonathan did suffer from bipolar depression. Friend have said that Jonathan exhibited classic symptoms. He would have extreme highs and very dark lows where he would lash out at friends for no apparent reason, only to call them a few hours later and apologize. Nobody though twice about it or took him seriously when he said he was going to kill himself. The just chalked it up to Jonathan being Jonathan. One of Jonathan's close friends, actor Danielle Harris said that when she first heard about Jonathan's suicide attempt the thought it was just Jonathan's way of finding out who his real friends were. Nobody saw, to gave any thought to the dark side of Jonathan, it was just one of the things that made him who he was.

I’ve witnessed this first hand and it’s difficult to understand or see it as an outsider. This is not to say something substantial could not have triggered a particularly bad reaction within him, eventually causing him to make this decision.... RIP
Well done!! I grow up watching Jonathan Brandis! He is my favorite artist. I remember back in November 12, 2003 my Ex Bf told me that he heard on the news about Jonathan passing. I fell and cried so hard. He was a good person and I wish he seek for help. One movie he had a role but they edits his lines out was Hart’s War 2002. He was soo heartbroken about that led him go down hill.

Then again, I’m glad no one took it further because constantly talking his death will encourage those to make never-ending conspiracies like Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Princess Diana and Natalie Woods. This is why both Mary and Greg never produce a documentary of Jonathan in the first place because they don’t want to glorified his death for financial purposes.

Xaria Elbers, What I find interesting about that session is that when asked why no suicide note, Jonathan replies "mis-step" or "mistake" That ties in with a theory that some of his friends have regarding the suicide attempt.

I will always remember him as Bill Denbrough from the 1990 miniseries IT. Talented actor and it hurts my heart to know he was so depressed, suicide was his only option. As famous as he was he didn't have real friends that checked on him, talked to him and asked if he was really alright or was he hurting.

Omg that was to nice u make me cry I love him so much ever since I found out about in I was Born in 2007 so I didn’t even get to meet him that any point it rlly upsetting but I wish I know why he did it at that time and u send he think he will die at the year 27 and he did !
What I find most upsetting is that Jonathan shouldn't have let go an amazing woman is his life, he could've contacted and told her about his suicide attempt but of course that didn't happen because she didn't know a thing anything until a friend gave her a call. By the way, I was talking about his then-girlfriend, Tatyana Ali from The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, Love That Girl and The Young And The Restless.

I believe if Twitter/Instagram/You Tube/Facebook and the higher demand for nostalgia existed in 2003 the way it does in 2020, Jonathan would have had an easier time with promotion + getting his name out there + landing auditions. It might have lessened his depression....

💜I am not sure, too much too fast. They use so many and toss them out when they're done. It would hurt any to think you've got this career, then unbeknownst to you, it comes to a screeching halt; left wondering what can I do to get it all back?What've I done wrong? The small roles that he got perhaps maybe made him feel like he wasn't getting the attention he valued and a cast off, I don't know. This is a very sad situation...may he rest in piece🙏💜
