- Welcome to my 2nd in Craft Room Organization series.
If you haven’t seen Part 1, my Craft Room tour, then please check it out at • Craft Room Scrapbook T...
In this second episode I’m going to show how to create your own desk organizer using 4 of the Skadis pegboards from IKEA.
The ones I use are the 14” by 22” size and you can find them here www.ikea.com/u...
You’ll also need a wheeled plant stand no more than 12” square, I got mine at Walmart but it is similar to this one
www.amazon.com...
You will also need zip/electrical ties and some MDF or wood for the top and bottom.
The top is approximately 12 ¼” by 12 ½” and the bottom piece 13 7/8” square.
Full instructions are in the video.

The best Ikea Skadis hack I've seen. Very well done.
Thank you! You are EXCELLENT at explaining important details about all those things that would have come up during the assembly!
I was going to say how great this is, and how detailed you were in your instructions, but I'd just be repeating what everyone else said! So, I'll just say thanks for posting this great hack!
I just discovered your channel. Your pegboard organizer is not only brilliant, but your instructions were so helpful that I had to subscribe. TY
Thanks so much for that, it was one of those "lightbulb" moments when I saw all the pegboards back in store when IKEA reopened after lockdown last year. I still use mine every time I craft.
I’m tempted to put it entirely on a giant low round tray or cookie sheet it would keep it upon the table instead of off on promenade during exuberant burst of creativity ...
also I’ll sacrifice usage of one level of holes and put the plain board at 1/3 height from top and use top interior as a “planter” or bin, for rulers, tall brushes or dowels etc... or add a lined dry trash bin inside center to corral messes!
Just riffing off your great amazing idea!
Omg!! 😎🥰😍🥳 THANK YOU!! I’m making one!!
Fantastic hack!
Brilliant idea! 👏

You are amazing! Fabulous idea and so well explained.
Brilliant ! Thanks for taking yours apart & showing us. I see a couple of these in my my house soon.
Thanks, I was a little afraid I wouldn't be able to get it back together but it's holding up fine and doing it's job on my craft desk 🙂
My friend and I just made two of these. Thanks so much for the tutorial! We love this!

What an awesome hack so supa creative and practical nice work
What a great and useful hack. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! This is a genius idea.
Wow... Just wow
Glad you liked it ❤️
This is an awesome idea. THANK YOU for pointing out that you can not use other accessories from other peg boards I never would have thought to look at the holes before hand
You are welcome, the reason I went with the IKEA pegboard was BECAUSE of the accessories! They have such a great selection that work so well for crafters and when I realized you couldn't use them on regular "round holed" boards I was all in on the Skadis line ❤️
What a great hack!!! Thanks sooooo much for sharing
Thank you for sharing your great hack. Absolutely love it😊
You are very welcome, it is so useful to have all my most used tools at hand and taking up such a small footprint ♥️
AMAZING!!! AND VERY CREATIVE!!!
Brilliant hack, love love , thank you so much!!!!!
This is absolutely amazing!! I’m here visiting your channel for the first time. I was actually looking for pegboard decor ideas because I’m setting up my pegboard in my craft studio and was just wanting some random ideas. When I seen this hack I was blown away. What a great idea. I don’t have an ikea anywhere near me. I would have to travel about 2 hours just to be where one is located near me. It’s always been a dream to go.
Thank you for sharing your inspiration and talent with the world. I will be checking your channel out more for sure. God bless you from my craft studio to yours! ❤️🥰🙏🏼
Wow! I am loving this. I was thinking you could add a lazy susan at the bottom instead of the plant wheels to keep it desk sized but spin-a-ble or if you wanted it free standing, you could stack the pieces on top of each other and zip tie two or three panels together on each side, depending on the height you wanted it to be. Would be super for a small space, one side could be tools, one craft supplies, one stationery, and one even kitchen things.... they sky is the limit!
Thanks 😊 Yes a tall, maybe floor standing, would be perfect for people with only a small crafting space. I looked for a lazy Susan to use, but it's hard to find one big enough for the size of the unit
What a great idea! I love it! Thank goodness my husband is handy! This will be a great addition to my desk!
You are one smart cookie!!! Love this!!!
Thanks so much ❤️ It is nice to have all my most used tools easily at hand.
Create and Craft with Katie I’m enjoying your videos, quite inspirational!!!

Terrific idea! Thanks so much for sharing.
You are welcome, it is really nice to have all my tools at hand in such a small footprint ❤️
Absolutely brilliant. You are so clever!
Thanks 😊 The idea just came to me when I was in IKEA and it came together just as I'd hoped ♥️
Brilliant!
Maybe using a lazy suzanne instead of wheels will be an idea to try...
Thanks a lot for sharing.
I had thought of using that but it would have to be really big for the organizer to sit in as it measures just over 14" square ❤️
Ikea has a 15" lazy susan
What a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing how to make it.
I'm glad you liked it, it is so useful to have all my tools in such a small footprint on my desk ❤️
Super super amazing..love it..👌👌👌👌👌...
Oh wow, thanks so much ❤️
You are a Genius, loving this ideal!🤩😀
So glad you liked it 🙂
Great ideal what about using a lazy suzy for the bottom?
Yes a lazy susan would work too, it's just finding one big enough , it would have to be more than 18" in diameter as the unit is just over 14" square.
Awesome, thanks for sharing. Hubs is going to make me one tomorrow. Wish those stringy cord things and the tool holder were available in Ikea Aus.
It always surprises me that they don't stock the same things all over the world. I'm in the US and they stock an insert for the Kallax that I really want but it's only in Canada, crazy eh? But I'm glad you can at least make this ♥️
@@CreateandCraftwithKatie The Kallax insert is in Aus and looks great.
They do have the string cords but you have to get it one of the combinations, not on their own. Strange huh?
Genious! Thank you for sharing!
Wowww!! Thank you to take the time to show us this brilliant idea!! You are so ingenious! :)
Super kreativ man könnte auch eine runde bodenplatte nehmen die drehbar ist von ikea für obst dann kann man es als gewürzregal nehmen drehbar
It's a great idea! I almost wish I had space for one myself :)
I hope you don't mind and I have to admit I'm only 4 min in, but from the 2 min I've had an idea... instead of zip tie it all shut, why not make a door of one of them and have like a magnetic closure and then you can use the inside of the pegboards too? And in the middle put a basket för long things?
13 mins in and you talked about removing the zip ties... so instead of the ties, use hinges? With magnetic closures where you have the screws on one side and skip the screws on the other side?
Also Ikea has wheels with locks on, I bought them for my computer table, you just screw them on the surface you want and done. I bought sturdy ones, but they have (or at least had) several kinds. Since you're there anyway to get Skådis and things for it :)
I will be making this! I just discovered your channel. I’m so excited to see your the videos of how you organize the rest of your scrapbook room.
Genius! Thank you for sharing.
So glad you liked it ❤️
This was great, I have an IKEA just down the road from me (2miles) so you can guess where I'll be soon lol.
absolutely brillant :)
Very clever! Great idea!❤️
Love it, love it! IKEA is pricey first me. Do you think I could make this with a Lowes pegboard? I do love your IKEA hack. Thank you
Glad you liked it. I would think you could make it with Lowes pegboard, my own issue would be that when you cut it to size that you'll have rough edges to sand down. Plus the partical board that it is made of has a tendency to splinter when you cut it so you'd have to be pretty careful with the cutting, but in theory it could be done ❤️
Love it!
I love this... thanks for sharing
So glad you liked it ❤️
Love this idea!

So glad you liked it, it's so great to have everything at reach and yet taking up such a small footprint ❤️

Hi, do you know the name of the ikea trash bin? Thanks
It's from the Variera line but looks like it's been or being discontinued

Awesome hack!
