Hey BEAT family! Based on several of the videos I've done lately on the review of the Bethel song, demons and warfare, etc., there have been so many questions about the believer's authority in Christ. So, I decided to do a video on it while also addressing the scripture that many people pointed to which is Matthew 17:20 about "speaking to the mountain and it will move." So, I'd love to hear your honest thoughts on this perspective in the comments below. Enjoy!

God gives us certain authority just like the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit (not every person will receive these gifts). God chooses our gifts and He gives different authority to each of us, but I believe we can pray to Him and ask Him for it. I agree with your possibility # 3 - TRUE, TRUE, TRUE. Mark 16:17-18 ESV
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
      Luke 10:19 ESV

I agree with you and the evidence as to what your saying can be backed up by the scripture rightly divided and interpreted, if you are given a supernatural word of knowledge Cleary and specifically by God, Him initiating it ,and you know it's His still small voice and you believe it and act on it , if it is really from God He will do it? This has been my experience, But I got a word ,a promise first from God and it gave me faith to believe God, and I ,as I stepped out,God always did what He gave me the faith for, miracles. But It has always been according to God's will for what He spoke to me through a illuminated word of scripture, God has never ,not once , not done what He said first and I believed and acted in faith on, even if it was just a mustard seed of faith.

God does not condemn us for limited faith.
If we recognize our faith is limited and feel condemned, that is Satan.
God does not limit our faith.
If we salve the realization our faith is limited with the idea God is the one limiting it, that is also Satan.
The correct response to the scriptures and Holy Spirit revealing there is more power, more authority than we are exercising, is just like a child being promoted to a new class...more to learn, more development coming.
Children do not get discouraged and feel guilty for what they do not know...
As children if God this should be how we respond to the Holy Spirit AND how we love and encourage one another.
This video teaching is not accurate. Pursue truth.

Then what do you do with Mark 16:17-18?
The problem with the assertion made in the video is 1) The attempt to intellectualize and rationalize spiritual things AND 2) Using personal experiences to judge truth.
God is bigger than our experiences (or lack thereof) and He is also bigger than our intellect.
Another area where the video errs is not understanding how authority and the power of God actually works. Jesus had authority from the Father but NOT everyone was healed and delivered in His ministry. In the city of Nazareth, Jesus could NOT do any mighty works there BECAUSE OF THEIR UNBELIEF, not because of His lack of faith or authority. The same is true with believers today. We have authority to help people receive things from the Lord but there are things that can hinder the work of God in a person's life (i.e., unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, doubt, etc.).
Also, the sports arena example was not a good analogy because the 5,000 that Jesus fed with a few fish and loaves were in God's will by being there listening to Jesus. In other words, those people were in the perfect will of God in that moment, and so God was able to do things in that environment that He would otherwise be hindered in at a secular sports venue filled with people who despise the gospel message.
Also, the 5,000 who had gathered with Jesus were in one accord -- and the reason we know this is because they were all asked to sit down, and they all did! Have you ever tried to get 5,000+ random people to sit down? And it was actually more than 5,000 because the 5,000 were the men only -- so it is safe to say that the number was probably closer to 12,000+ because women and children outnumber men in most places and in most settings. So, this is a strong indication that this group of roughly 12,000+ were all in one accord -- unlike the people at the synagogue at the city of Nazareth. The people at Nazareth were opposing Jesus and His ministry and so the Lord was only able to do a few minor healings due to their UNBELIEF.
Even in the scripture that you cited (Mark 11:23-24), there is a clause in that verse which sets a condition on our faith and authority producing miracles. That condition is "shall NOT DOUBT in your heart." Another clause mentioned is in the 25th verse of Mark 11 that can set a limit to our faith and authority -- "And if you have any grievance against anyone, forgive it and let it go!"
Many Christians find it convenient to explain away authority because it puts the onus on God if something doesn't happen. But God and Jesus have put the onus on us by giving us His Name and His Word. But for His Name to work we must believe that His Name will work (Matthew 17:17-21, Acts 3:16 and 1 John 3:23).
I believe the presenter loves the Lord and His heart is in the right place, but further biblical clarity would help this presentation.

Great explanation! You clearly put into words what I've experienced in my walk with God. In the past I've prayed about things and they happened. But other times I prayed and they didn't happen. I found myself getting upset at God. But later I realized that it was my misunderstanding of scripture. God was answering my prayers and providing miracles in my life according to His desire for me. Honestly, it was better than what I prayed for. Now I've realized that I don't lead God according to my will, instead He leads me according to His will. Now I see miracles wherever He leads me.

I’m in a church that puts emphasis on “speaking things into existence” and while I believe in this to some degree, I now see how it can be damaging. I recently lost my baby in the beginning of my third trimester. He was very sick and we knew the chances of him coming home was very slim for about six weeks before. So when God didn’t heal him, it cut deep. We “spoke life” over but it wasn’t enough. Then when you see other people getting their miracles after speaking life over it, it makes you feel inadequate, like God has favorites and helps some but not others. But I know that’s not the case. I’m starting to think this theology of speaking things into being is incorrect as you say.

In all honesty, any authority God gives has to be in his will. I think when we want something supernatural to happen, just speak through prayer and ask. There is no guarantee, except what God decides. Prayer is really the only place to speak through God and both wills meet, but one will ultimately happen, God's. God can heal people, can save people, can do what you ask, but that's if he wants it to happen, not by our own power. Who are we to ask the God in charge of everything to do what we want in our limited scope?

Or say you pray for healing or for more finances or for anything pertaining to your desire, be it good or bad. @@SpiritLife According to Allen's video, John 14:12 still applies easily. We just can't assume it's automatic, every single time, whenever we want, because we have faith
I was going door to door, sharing the love of Jesus, and this one guy was saying he's too busy to go to church, and he knows he needs to get back to following Jesus... but he has a lot going on and he's not ready.
He put a hand on his back, obviously having some back issues, and I felt released to pray for the man so I asked him
"Well, can I pray for your back?"
"Yes you can pray for my back. Pray I get a doctor, and the surgeon does a great job, and..." he went on and on with the science of how his back should be healed naturally and medicinally...
And I again, felt through God the Holy Spirit to just say "And what if God wanted to do it a different way. Would you be ok with that?"
".....Sure man whatever, just pray for my back."
I prayed, a really simple prayer, what I felt like God led me to do... And he stood up straight, and I said "Move around. The pain is gone isn't it?"
He was violently twisting his back, getting frustrated, and threw his hands up "Yeah it's gone!......."
I said, "What does that mean to you?"
"It means maybe I should get back in the Bible"
"I think that's a good plan. It wasn't me. It's just God's way of getting our attention sometimes, so that we can trust Him and rely on Him. If you don't come to our church, that's fine, but follow Jesus my brother!"
And then later that week, I prayed for my wife's shoulder pain. And nothing happened. I can tell you, I actually had more faith for my wife, because of what happened with that gentleman, who was a stranger...
The point ISN'T that we CAN'T do this. And this video doesn't say that at all... Allen is saying the same thing experience tells us... We can't assume it's automatic.
I tell you what, Peter preached and 3000 got saved. That's a miracle. Billy Graham had massive crusades. I say these are greater works than Jesus during his 3 year ministry. We can't downplay the Spirit moving in the hearts of men/women for salvation, and turn the power of the Holy Spirit into just this Miracle Machine, cranking out miracles for the sake of authority and blessing...
If you read John 14-16, His job is always "What is the greater witness of who Jesus is"

First, it's great to see this video! I was one of the people who commented like that on the previous video about the song lyrics. I can't disagree with much in here. It's all solid. It's obvious (to me) that scripture teaches we can't do anything good apart from God's will. We are not independent agents and not the source of any miracles. All power comes from God. As a side note, I doubt that the people who wrote those lyrics would disagree with Points #1 or #2.
Second, one possible area of difference is on Consideration #3, that the Apostles were given more authority than other believers to do miracles (again, through the power of God) and that the authority of other believers was/is comparatively limited over time. In addition to the moving-mountains verse, there are several that say God can/will work through believers in general like this (not just 1st-century believers) in various ways. For example, John 14:13 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do." Some translations say "anyone" who believes or "whosoever" believes. 1 Corinthians 12 explains how numerous supernatural gifts might be dispersed (e.g., miracles, healing, prophesy, etc.) in a group of believers. The gifts abounded among believers who never met Jesus in the flesh.
And, there were lots of places in scripture where the writers of various books could have clarified that the Holy Spirit would be slowing down after the Bible was complete and that believers shouldn't assume we'll be able to do the same types of miracles in the future. I don't want to put any words in Allen's mouth or assume what he believes about this but I'm articulating a cessationist argument that miracles have essentially stopped (barring some extra special act of God). Thankfully, I've yet to see any credible Bible verses that limit other believers' authority to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Cessationism is a manmade theology if there ever was one. Why would Jesus give us the Holy Spirit and say that it was "better" only to extinguish that power after a mere 100 years or so? I'm sticking with Jesus on this one rather than the cessationists. Again, this is not really about what Allen said as much as it is about a line of manmade scripture-less thinking I've heard that downplays the Holy Spirit's miraculous work through current-day believers.
Third, (related to cessationism) I don't think it's a good idea to base and defend a theology on our own limited experience. At around 9:18 Allen says, "We know this to be true because if we just look around in the world . . ." In contrast to what we see currently, our beliefs must be established in what the Bible says. There's no getting around faith in Christianity. Just because certain Christians/churches don't see miracles happening, that doesn't mean we should re-interpret verses to fit this manmade belief. I was part of a sad church that wouldn't even pray for healing for people because they'd convinced themselves that God didn't heal anymore. In contrast, there have been many periods in church history with lots of miraculous activity. Even Augustine changed his mind on cessationism when he went about documenting all of the miracles that were happening. Part of faith means believing in and trusting what God says despite our personal experience.
But, back to the original point that connects this video to the one on the song lyrics. This is a solid follow-up video and I appreciate that you came back to it and expanded the conversation. I'm 100% with you on Points 1 and 2. I think a video on cessationism would be helpful but that's just my two cents.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, Alex, especially as it relates to cessationism. I fully agree that cessationism is a man-made theology that cannot be legitimately justified by scripture. And when Allen said "We know this to be true because if we just look around in the world...," my reaction was the same as yours. And I like how you put it: "I don't think it's a good idea to base and defend a theology on our own limited experience....In contrast to what we see currently, our beliefs must be established in WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS." We most certainly have authority if we have true faith in Jesus, if it is God’s will, and if we are doing our part as believers (2 feet in 👣). The problem nowadays is the lack of faith and people having 1 foot out the door. If we are followers of Christ and we are using our gifts given to us by the Father, for his glory, then are we too not disciples of Christ? The same way we have faith that the sun will come up in the morning, is the same way we should have faith that we have authority over the enemy, make miracles happen, and have our prayers answered, all in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS 👏🏼. This is not the time to diminish our faith but to stand strong in knowing that our God deemed us worthy of saving❣️ God bless you all, I love you.

The Lord didn't tell Paul 'no'. He told Paul my grace is sufficient. The thorn in the flesh were those opposing Paul's message -- specifically the Jewish leaders from Jerusalem following Paul around and stirring up people against him. The Lord basically told Paul that we have the grace for victory over persecution, but for the Lord to completely remove persecution from our lives, He would have to remove us from the world. During Jesus' ministry, He prayed to the Father that we are NOT removed from the world, but simply separated in a holy sense from the world. The grace that Paul has to withstand persecution is the same grace that we have. Jesus was pointing Paul to grace which entails the finished works of Jesus Christ and our victory over the adversary.

We must be praying for those caught up in false teaching, and bearingwitness to the truth in our lives.
My story: A friend I've know for 40 years, who has studied Scripture since a child, fell into listening to those who taught this false doctrine. She became stubborn in her beliefs, to the point it became difficult to even have a casual conversation with her.
A few years ago during a very difficult season where I was greater disabling pain and financial suffering, she flatly told me it was my fault I was not healed, that I did not have enough faith to believe God wanted to heal me. It was as if she ran me through with a broadsword and the blade twisted in me. I was so stunned by the cruelty of what she had just done.
Without going into more details I will say I found it necessary to cease fellowshipping with her, severing our friendship for a season. I explaining this to her in a letter and why it was necessary. We did not communicate at all for two years. She was confused by what I'd done. I will say this was necessary for both of us, not just my protection.
By Gods grace I was able to forgive her and prayed for her often. I went on to share my life and faith openly on social medial to encourage those who are suffering and to bring God glory through the testimony of that work He is doing in me. I hoped more than anything God would use it to bear witness to her of what HE was doing in me through this suffering and realize the true value to our suffering God brings.
I've lost much in my life because of this physical suffering, and nearly lost this dear friend, a sister in Christ too. I saw she did not know what she did not understand, did not know she had been lead astray by those who spread false teachings. Only God could help her understand.
Two years of praying for her, being able to truly forgive her and giving God the room and time to work in us both has proven beneficial. HIS grace, compassion and mercy has done wonderful things in us. The great news is she is finally beginning to understand the truth and we are again talking. Praise the Lord. What the enemy intended for evil, God is using for good.
I will be sharing this with her, so thank you again. ~Patty~

@@195kahI agree for the most part, but for a couple of points. I don't believe that Jesus was hindered from healing in his hometown because of their lack of faith in him. The man at the pool of Siloam didn't even know the man he was talking to was Jesus so how could he put his faith in him? I believe the reason Jesus did not do many miracles in his hometown was because people had known him for 30 years and nothing like healing had happened. The context is in the passage "isn't this Mary's son?". People weren't healed because they didn't believe he was special so THEY DID NOT COME TO HIM to be healed.
      Make sense?

Thank you!!! I've been saying this over the last few years as things had become harder and trying to explain that it's according to His will what happens and that it's our faith that helos us get through those trials but doesn't always take them away. He doesn't always calm the seas rather calms us in it. If you think about it with things that are going to happen yet the world is going to get worse the bible says so and there will be people who will pray to have it not happen but it will happen according to God's will and He will help us get through it and that is more important to Spiritually get through than to physically get through.

Recently came to your videos through Todd Friel. Thank you for the way you unpack scripture. I was raised in a hypercharismatic atmosphere that I always felt very less than in because I somehow could not access the authority to speak miracles into being the way they so often spoke of. God blessedly stirred my heart to begin digging into the Word for myself and do some research. This led me to walk away from my old church and seek out a Bible-believing congregation several years ago. I rejoice He has brought me so far from that former mindset, but, there is also so much to rebuild in my faith in light of the truth. I appreciate teachers like you that take the time to clarify.

Loved the video Mr Allen! I grew up baptist and I am now exploring other churches and meeting new people. I am so surprised to see how many people twist scripture to try to give them some kind of power, It’s baffling. My new friend told me “we have the power to heal like Jesus did”. To which I replied “then why do you wear glasses?” And he literally told me “because I don’t have enough faith”. It’s scary how much some people have been lead astray. Thank you for your videos!!

Just because your friend wore glasses doesn’t deny the power of God healing power. I’m reminded when Jesus was on the cross all the unbeliever shout unto Him and said since you claim to be the King of the Jews save yourself and come down. Even though Jesus had all power to come down off the Cross and could have call legend of Angel.., He did not just to prove their point to them. Jesus knew He came to do the will of the Father and not His own will. My prayer for you is that You come into the truth that’s in Jesus. Father God open blinded eyes, unstop deaf ears. I pray that’s all that’s are called and added to the church come into the knowledge of You Jesus according to the will of God in Your name Jesus.

I lived through an experience where believers told me and my mother that my brother would be healed before his death because they laid hands on him in Jesus's name. I need not to tell you that my brother was not healed. That episode became a stumbling block in our lives for a while but God taught us who HE is and that he is not a magician. I believe that healing comes from the Lord but I have yet to see many that possess the authority in Christ, and I do not agree it is because a lack of faith. Rather, that is the Lord's divine will when it happens or does not. Blessings to you!

Thank you Allen for expressing the insight the Lord shows us in his word. Context is very important in scripture. As a preacher, I explain to our congregation that God’s will is paramount in the events of every day and for a believer to take any verse and try to make a theological aspect out of it that tries to put man’s will above God’s isn’t going to work. Great video.

The Pastor (who loves God and people) taught from 1 Co 7:11 that when his wife had left him, years before, that he had authority to “let his wife remain single or else be reconciled to him”.
When I went through a separation, I used this to “command” that she return. She didn’t, and I backslid. I’m not blaming anyone for my backsliding (I’m doing fine now, living for God and enjoying a marriage of 20 years, but my point is, the Word needs to be rightly divided.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. John 14:12
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
    Genesis 1:26
The gifts and miracles of God are still alive and active. Maybe we don’t see “miracles” as much because people don’t believe in them or don’t believe that Christians need deliverance. So therefore some are not able to operate in the power and authority Jesus has given us.

We, as the Body of Christ need to come to the understanding that everybody in CHRIST has different spiritual gifts through the dispensing of the Holy Spirit. Some believers may have only one gift from the Holy Ghost while another may have two or more from the Holy Ghost for example, but everybody is going to have a gift. For example, I confess and believe the Lord Jesus Christ is God and my savior that died on the cross for the atonement of sin, sent by the Father, and those of us who love Jesus and keep the commandments he sends the helper (The Holy Ghost) which dispenses gifts accordingly.
Furthermore, I have the Gift of Discernment (the ability to see into the spiritual realm and tell what spirits are around and who is carrying what spirit) BUT I have never had the gift to speak in tongues.

I agree with Parr in that this work is within Gods will, because it’s God operating thru me. I disagree in that we can’t perform “miracles” today. I doubt it’d be Gods will to physically move a mountain, to heal every sick person at the hospital, to feed a stadium fish. But believe me His miracles are all around us, and often when we obey in faith, God works miracles thru us ❤️❤️❤️

All things are possible if it is in the will of God. My husband and I witnessed my grandmother do something we never forgot. She only wanted some time in her garden on a day she felt strong enough to go outside and as she got out there this storm come rolling in. She pointed her cane at the sky and rebuked the storm. Before our eyes the storm broke up and the sky turned blue. We just looked at each other in shock and my grandmother spent some time outside until she was ready to go back in. We walked her in her back door with a still sunny blue sky and as she made her way towards her recliner we saw it was dark outside her front windows and we went to look out the back door and it was storm clouds as far as you could see. From clear blue to storm clouds everywhere in 2 minutes and as she sat down the rain let loose and poured. We walked to the kitchen and my husband said "Did that really just happen" and I said "yeah I think so". He said "Remind me to never make your grandma mad because she has a direct link to God and that old cane must be what is left of Moses staff".
I fell like God let us witness that just so we knew it was possible and that he can do today what he did in the Bible.
I remembered that day when there was a bad snow storm coming in a couple of years ago and I prayed for time to get errands done as I knew God controls the weather. As I was finishing the errands and getting home I thanked God and was heading to work not knowing how long I could work with the storm coming in and stressing about not being able to work the next day. I just got this peace that I was working the next day and the storm was not happening. I started telling people it wasn't happening and everyone thought I was crazy and as some snow started they said look it is happening and I said it will be a light dusting. After a few hours the weather forecast changed, the storm had shifted west and I yelled look even the weather man has accepted it is not going to happen! There is nothing like seeing a mighty move of God!

I've been told that I have the supernatural power to just "push thru", that I don't have enough faith, that I'm not using the authority I have thru Christ to heal. I would rather believe God can move mountains and raise the dead and be wrong then believe he can only do small miracles and stop praying for greater things. The real blessings is when he doesn’t bless you the way you think you needed, and keep praying and believing and end up realizing you surviving through it is the miracle in itself.

Unfortunately, this type of video explains why many christians have never seen any miracles. Traditions/interpretations and conditions added by man can cancel God's power that is promised in His Word. Miracles are accessible if we believe and understand the heart of the Father and if we take Him at His Word for what He has already made available for us through His Son's sacrifice. Jesus, being the image of the Father and our example Himself never denied a miracle "because it wasn't God's Will". Rather, He always demonstrated the willingness of the Father. A whole theology was created to explain our lack of results which is how nowadays man's tradition is used to nullify God's Word. I personally won't be watching these types of videos anymore from Allen anymore while there's a whole new generation of believers who are seeking God's heart and getting more consistent results by radical faith in Jesus no matter what some "theologians" may say.

I agree here. Amen. Yes, so many are saying 'the size' of a mustard seed. No!! The parable of the mustard seed (Matt. 13:31-2) was because it grows like no other. We go from faith to faith, strength to strength, glory to glory. The disciples couldn't do things originally with their small faith, and then their faith grew. Like a mustard seed. larger and larger, stronger and stronger. It seems like many in the body of Christ started saying 'the size' of a mustard seed about 15 or 20 years ago. Before that, it was faith 'as a mustard seed'. Someone is adding to the Word of God to change it's meaning.
Satan tempted Jesus in Luke 4:9-11 saying 'cast yourself down .. and then he (satan) misquoted psalm 91 .... 'he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up (lest at any time) thou dash thy foot against a stone. this changed the concept of the scripture from angels helping in the time of need to 'you can tempt the Lord in your foolishness to test God' ...(lest at any time) was added by satan to change it's meaning.
Changing the scripture from 'as a mustard seed' to 'the size of a mustard seed' changes it's meaning. Amen? Jesus could have said the size of a grain of sand. That would make it a size issue. A grain of sand does not grow, but, a mustard seed does. It grows like no other herb plant/tree....
May your faith grow like a mustard seed if your faith fails to move a mountain due to it's small size.

Title of the subject and not 10 unrelated scriptures to make a point. This is particularly
Dangerous for Babes in CHRIST. When Gino
Jennings does this, You will often hear Him
Say: I’M I RIGHT! Self Exaltation will often lead

Acts 10:38 says Jesus went around healing people that were oppressed from the devil, tells me that all sickness is from Satan, thus casting out devils, Luke 10:19 say I have given YOU Authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and OVER ALL THE POWERS OF DARKNESS!!. We absolutely have authority Mark 11:23-24. You are deceived.

It's hard to think of anything that God would say is possible as being hyperbole. Surely creating the world and then flooding the world is on a bigger scale than moving one mountain. I'm following what brother Alan is saying, I just don't want to be tempted to think that God cannot do miraculous things through believers today, regardless of how big or small. To me, Jesus was probably exaggerating to make a point, but that doesn't mean those same disciples couldn't have done exactly what He said they could do if they moved in the authority He gave them.

God gives us certain authority just like the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit (not every person will receive these gifts). God chooses our gifts but we can pray to Him and ask (I agree with your possibility # 3 - TRUE). 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 "......11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions (assigns) them to each one as He determines."

I just skimmed through the video but I think you might have missed a crucial point here: Christ was talking about casting out demons. So the spiritual authority is mainly towards dark forces and mental strongholds.... I believe this is where the authority of the believers really shine. We can command and break down spiritual strongholds like anxiety, depression, condemnation using the authority we have has believers (Eph 2:6). For those who struggle (like me) with OCD, anxiety, depression etc the authority of the believers in Christ is really something to try out!
Happy new year everyone. God's grace is enough for all your needs. God our Heavenly Father loves us and He wants to comfort, heal and raise us up....

Christians have divine authority in the same sense that a manager has authority over a company that he doesn’t own.
The authority a manager has is given to him by the owner and he only has the authority to carry out the wishes of the owner. He doesn’t have authority to do things that the owner doesn’t want done.

My brother, you just nailed the issue. THAT is where we find a balanced understanding. We are Christ's ambassadors. We speak, live, and act on behalf of the King. Ambassadors can have their own agenda and not accurately represent the will and wishes of the King, but when they return to face Him, they'll be held accountable for just that. God Bless!

I agree to a degree. Miracles of all kinds still happen today. All over the world and yes even in the US. my mom has been healed now 3 times of incurable diseases and healed of another ailment. My sister was healed of scoliosis, and me of Asthma.
Not all believers have the gift of healing that is true, but people do have the authority of Jesus if the need arises. I guess I feel like you just were stating that this is an old times type of power that isn't accessed today when it is actually still here.

Another way God heals is monergistically through petitions of prayer and supplication, meaning he doesn't need to use people to lay hands and heal others, he just heals apart from us, because it is his will.

Something I would like to point out. In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus gives the Great Commission to the fledgling church, and begins by saying "All Authority has been given to me". In Acts 1:6-8. Dr. Luke records his own version of this event. In verse 8, Jesus says that they will receive "Power" when the Holy Spirit arrives. The terms for "Authority" and "Power" are two different terms. Jesus holds the authority, and with that authority, he has given us the power to accomplish his will. However, in both passages, the command is given to go forth, teach, and be his witnesses throughout the world. Through the Holy Spirit, as Acts chapter one says, we have the "Power" or the ability to do so, but the Authority rests with Christ.
Why do I point this out? Because I think that many Christians confuse power/ability with that of Authority. In the greek, these are two different terms. My dad, who was a pastor and ex-military, explained it this way once when he did a sermon on the Great Commission. A General of an army holds the authority over his troops. Through his officers, he delegates that authority and equips his troops with the proper gear and strategies to win the coming battle. The soldier on the field of battle has two primary goals: survive and carry out his orders. The General has given him, or should have in the ideal situation, the proper gear, strategies, and tactics he needs to accomplish the goal of winning the battle. In like manner, Christ has the authority, and through the Holy Spirit, he blesses us with the power to accomplish his goal of witnessing about him throughout the world.
    Authority versus Power

Wow, great insight and well explained. I believe we have to ask this question concerning miracles, signs and wonders. Who is it being done for and for what purpose? Signs, wonders, and miracles were ways that God displayed His power for a specific purpose or reason. We have to be very careful on believing others who claim to do miracles in as such as does this bring true attention to God or the person supposedly doing the "miracles"? All praise and glory goes to GOD and all authority comes from GOD. We must be extremely careful as to not be deceived by doctrine claiming that we have such an authority automatically from GOD.

The enemy wouldn’t be fighting you so hard if he didn’t know something amazing was in front of you. Don’t be discouraged because you have big challenges. Have a new perspective. That means God has something big in your future: big breakthroughs, big opportunities, big blessings, big victories. If you could see the promotion on the other side of those problems-if you could see the healing, the favor, the fulfillment-you wouldn’t be discouraged. You would go through that difficulty in faith, praising when you could be complaining, thanking God that He’s fighting your battles, knowing that it’s all a setup for a new level of your destiny. Thanks for reading this comment, I hope you are blessed and uplifted by it. We are a new and growing channel, your support and blessings is much appreciated. Thanks and God bless you. Amen
