- Just a quick and short video on how to drift in these games, i see enough people that struggle with these simple mechanics. I didn't explain the drive types, sorry for that, maybe in a later video.
The point about accelerating during corners is not very true, it highly depends on the stage. Especially on Irohazaka, the corners are way too tight to speed up and if you do, you will crash. So just drive around these corners with steering and braking!
Your channel deserves a lot of more attention.
Thank you very much!
I personally got better at cornering just on Akina alone. Doing time attacks and racing Takumi/Ryosuke just to polish my techniques over the 2 years I've played Version 3/Street Stage.
Thank you so much this more helpful for me to drift.
Very well made video.
Thanks!
i normally pull a shinji inui and coast into the corner then brake when needed
so, before the turn, downshift + Brake and Gas, Turn, Gas, then shift up, like that?
@@hilih69 highly depends on course and corners, but rule or thumb would be "Downshift, Steer + Brake, Gas". Don't shift up immediately, like at 5k rpm or so, you will go slower, just let the meter run full.
Some hairpins require a different style of drifting, the last hairpins of Akina go like that; "Shift from 5th to 4th gear, brake and steer into the first hairpin, speed up short before leaving, stay in 4th, do the same and if you notice that your speed goes down cause of braking, Downshift to 3rd in the last hairpins." When you drive upwards, you can stay in 4th gear most of the time, try what works best for you.
@@taku557 so before the turn, downshift, turn and brake, gas, 5k rpm -> Shift up, hmm insteresting, gonna try it, thank you 🙏🏾
Are you planning to cover FF?
@@coatlessali eventually, i main MR so covering other types wouldn't be too bad.
what about the course has alot of corners like akagi or akina
Highly depends on the corner. The Initial D games have a pretty steep learning curve, just keep playing and try which corner is nice to cut with the usual method. Also note that uphill is very different, there you want to stay in gear and brake as minimum as possible
You play on which platform? PC?
