    Great Job! Just wanted to add, in relation to ~30:30, Calcium is stored in, more specifically, the SARCOplasmic Reticulum (a type of Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum found in Myocytes). Probably not that important to add, but it rung a bell in the back of my mind, and I figured I would look it up again. Thanks for the vid--GREAT UPLOAD!

    For the a1/a2 I used Queens rule, thus: a1= Queens (Q) are on top and a2 = ignobles (I) are below. Helped me, hope it helps others.

    you could say "if you are sympathetic towards someone then you should give them a QISS" for the adrenergic receptors. I guess since we are using the "K" sound for Q in the muscarinic mnemonic , then it kind of makes sense. QISS you just have to remember the order of the receptors a1, a2, B1, B2.

  • @danifilth3

    While learning the adrenergic system I love to listen to Kiss. ;) (QISS)

  • @disciple68
    @disciple68 Год назад

    For the pathways of the main receptor types I think about a couple making up after a fight (or flight), on Valentine's Day.
    His/her
    M= Muscarinic; (Quick= QIQ) M1=gQ, M2=gI, M3=gQ
    A= Adrenergic (Kiss= QISS) A1=gQ, A2=qI, B1=qS, B2=qS
    D= Dopamine (Si) As in the video. D1=qS, D2=qS
    His/her= Histamine; (Kiss=QS) H1=gQ, H2=qS,
    Valentine=Vasopressin; (Kiss=QS) V1=gQ, V2=qS,

    how about "QISS" as in "KISS" for the adrenergic mnemonic device? KISS ass for alpha and KISS butt for beta. Of course you can just remember alpha applies to the QI and beta applies to the SS because there are only two types.

    I have a stupid question..., how is the type of neurotransmissor (NA, Ach, Dopamine) related to the function? Or it isnt related at all? The function only depends on the type of receptor? If I have a alpha1 receptor, does it matter if what "activates" is a NA, Adrenaline or dopamine (since ach cannot activate it, right?)? Thank you for the amazing video tho, very helpful :)

    Suggestion for memorizing alpha receptors:
    think alpha like alpha male:
    alpha1 will make the GQ cover magazine. (Gq receptor)
    (for all non-fashionista scientists GQ is like a celebrity fashion magazine)
    alpha2: "I am not no GQ boy" (Gi receptor)
