I rode this when it was "The Hangman" at Opryland. It was actually a very smooth ride back then. Disassembling it and moving it across the country must have ruined it.
Cabo Wabo I think the wheels are worn it feels like the train slams side to side in the track it’s definitely gotten worse with time I hate it it’s so rough but it sucks because it is fun

@@phillipivey4833 It's not dangerously painful, no. But Vekoma SLC model coasters (like this one) age notoriously bad. I've ridden my fair share of these rides and they're uncomfortable. You get off with a banging headache and a nice stiff neck. But yeah, it isn't dangerous by any means.

It's always the same: A rollover, a wave turn, a sidewinder, 2 in-line twists, then the brakes. You ride one SLC, you've ridden them all.

Panda DIY SLC stands for Suspended Looping Coaster, it’s kind of how the manufacturer (Vekoma) calls this type of coaster. It’s one of the most succesfull (and hell knows why) standard model coasters ever made and it is found all over the world (sad enough)

This was the first rollercoaster i ever rode, i was 7 years old. I loved it. My parents didn't. lmao. 7 year old don't really experience pain on rollercoasters.

I rode this when it was at Opryland in Nashville TN back in 1995 when the ride was first built. It was known as the Hang Man then. Opryland closed in 1997. Hangman was moved to six flags and renamed Kong. It was the first hanging roller coaster in that time period. I miss it.

AMEN! I found this searching for Opryland USA earlier. I'm thinking I should take a trip to cali specifically to ride this! Such great memories of that thing. After all these years I remembered the exact point you'd begin accelerating, when riding in front, and most of the turns. I even tensed up for the deceleration at the end! They used to warn you over the intercom to hold your head firmly to the back of the headrest to avoid neck/head problems. Especially, before they installed extra ear padding. Yikes.
@@s10manual Whenever I ride a Vekoma SLC (like Hangman/Kong) I pin my head to the back of the headrest, and against one of the sides of the headrest. Just to avoid the headbanging.
This ride nearly gave my little brother (12) a concussion. Could definitely use a redo on the track, very painful. Extremely.
Ikr! It's a vekoma though, cant expect much. Medusa's better by far
Yeah all Vekoma doc are like this but Vekoma has gotten a lot better over the years and more smooth

Damn. Terrible ride. Looks like a thriller, but feels like a killer. The track makes the loud ticks sounds the whole time. The harness smacks your halead a lot. The flips push your head down, giving you a really sore neck. Also, very long lines.
I went on Kong with my cousin and her dad when I was 11. My cousin’s head got pretty beat up, but she loved it. My hair legit got caught in the ride though. It was pretty painful. I also went on Medusa. It was very fun, but you know those seats that have a strap to click in to the over-head thing? Well my cousin’s had 2 since it was for larger people. She wasn’t even properly strapped in tight, there was a huge gap for her to slip out of. But other than the workers not acknowledging that issue, the ride was enjoyable. We also went on the Wonder Woman ride. Ohhh ma gosh, it was so freaky. XD

I rode this ride last year. and it was a little rough but nothing to complain about. It was super smooth when they first put it in Marine World years ago when it came from Opryland.

I went on this today and we had to wait in line for a long time because some lady hit her head real bad on the restraints and medical came because blood was coming out of her head. Not lying..

Been on this ride, Here is some pointers
1. The drop is kinda scary
2. You’re head bounces side to side
3. It flips you upside down (a lot)
4. DONT GO ON DARE DEVIL AFTER
Dare Devil no longer exists. Neither does Harley Quinn.

Aunestly, the ride wasn’t as bad as people are saying. But it was really bumpy in the 2 inversions going into the station but overall, a great ride!

These are my favourite coasters: the hangy-downy topsy-turvy steelies. Cedar Point's Raptor is a good example. This one looks like fun.
This ride was so rough! They put these head pads on the side your seat and every time we took a turn I smashed my head on the pad.

As much as I hate the roughness of this ride I have to cut it some slack as it was my first inverting coaster.

There’s the same ride in Six Flags Mexico but it’s called Batman The Ride.
I’m still not quite sure what happened, but after hearing about all the slc hate and going in with super low expectations, I genuinely enjoyed kong and didn’t find it rough. And that’s also compared to the other slc i’ve ridden (mind eraser at elitch gardens) which was terrible.
It's funny for me the smoothest SLC I've been on is the knockoff SLC in China lol.

I got a huge bump on my head last year when I went on this ride, never again will I go in that shitty ride.
A Hyper GTX coaster would fit and look amazing in Kong's place.
Everyone complains about it hurting but honestly it's not that bad imo it's a fun ride and the only slc there so I like it.
It looks fun aaa. But based on the comments they could update the restrains n such and put sand in the pillars to reduce noise

They really need to sell off this coaster, if they are land-locked too much they could put a RMC raptor in and free up some space for a ride or two as well and/or open up areas to walk more.
I don’t know why people complain about this ride, it was fun and smooth. But one of the turns was so rough my phone slipped out my pocket and landed on the front.

This was the very first coaster I ever went on, and it was so lame. The first drop was scary AF because it was my first ride, but the rest of the ride was boring. I just wanted it to be over because it sucked.
The ride wasn't that bumpy. My hips felt it, but that's most roller coasters I go on.
It went on this ride once in the front seat the seat next to me had coution tape on it. I thought mmm not being that smart i got on. When at the top of lift right before the drop.the shoulder strap opened😱 the seat belt being the only reason I didn't fall straight to death. I held on for dear life and told them afterwards. I wonder how many people almost died because of that malfunction 🥴🥴this was around year 2000 or so.
I peed in the bushes near the stairwell and almost got kicked out lmfao

When I rode this ride I felt a pop in my back and I was dunzo my back hurt on the rest of the rides and I kept smacking my head on the restraints
7 out of 10 went on it with a friend it was good but too bumpy you get a head ache afterwards because your head keeps hitting the seat you are on over and over
this one is rough it makes ur ears red and it hurts
tbh i don't think it's too bad but i would skip if you're prone to headaches. it's another thing i rode this like 3 years ago when i was like 14 and now im a lot more prone to headaches soooo
