Mee's Beef Jerky Recipe (Speaking in English Only)

  • Ingredients:
    1. 4 Pound lean beef.
    2. 1 1/2 Tablespoon salt.
    3. 2 1/2 Chicken powder.
    4. 1 Tablespoon sugar.
    5. 1/2 Tablespoon roasted garlic powder.
    6. 1 Teaspoon ground black pepper.
    7. 3 Tablespoon Michiu cooking wine.
    8. 2 Tablespoon cooking oil.
    * Marinate meat with seasoning and refrigerated for overnight.
    *Dry beef jerky in oven at bake 175 for 3 1/2 hours.

    Auntie, at what temperature and how long do you broil/bake them after the 3-4 hours of drying? I want to eat them right away and do not want to freeze.

    Can you make it ahead of time and freeze them untill you need it?

      Hi Mao, yes you can make it ahead of time for a big event. To freeze it, you need to let the jerky cool completely and vacuum seal it or put it in the freezer bag to freeze. When you need to cook it, take the zip bag out from the freezer to thaw it and deep fry it. For large event, I only deep fry it because it's too slow to broil it.

    Sister, you don’t use any Morton’s Salt tenderizer (ntsev Liab)?

      Hi sister, I have Morton salt tenderizer too but didn't use in this recipe because most people don't use tenderizer salt. But you can choose to use it to add more color in your jerky.

      Hi Maz, I'm not sure whay kind of Chinese cooking wine you have, but the cooking wine I used is Michui brand.
