Made this a couple days ago in oven version turned out frigging good! Our oven is very tiny so it took about 3 hours in our case. Thanks so much for another great and easy recipe Pam. Your backyard is super beautiful! It's our dream living next to the ocean. May I ask where that is?
Hi JeanPierre! Yes, smaller oven can take a little longer. I'm so glad you loved it! You're most welcome 😊 It's Cape Town, South Africa. You'll love South Africa, so beautiful :)
It is quite funny watching this video, You are a Thai in Capetown making Nua Dad-deaw and I am from Capetown living in Thailand making biltong LOL! nice recipe by the way I will try it, but it has been a bit rainy here....
Indeed! I guess we do miss food from home time to time 😄 I really do love biltong, always have packs of them in the pantry 😋 Rainy season should be over soon in Thailand. I miss home but I also really love your beautiful hometown 🇿🇦
I'm enamored with this delicacy. In the Philippines, it's called 'tapa '- a spaniard emperialistic influence. . Since Pilipinos abhor spices, the beef are just seasoned with salt and in culinary blunder - vinegar , which toughens the beef fibers. Other Asian cuisine deals with meats more deliciously and healthy by using spices. Thanks for the tutorial.
I think I like the sun dried version but I would have to wait for the summers to make this. This looks so yummy, I was opening my mouth when u were feeding the screen lol 😆 must be so nice living beside the ocean! It’s soo beautiful 😍
I also liked the sun-dried version better. I wish I could share some through the screen hehe. Oceans are beautiful here. We're on the Atlantic side so we can't really swim much..freezing cold 💕💕
I love the sun dried beef jerky, we make this as well. It’s so good with sticky rice and papaya salad or even with plain rice porridge. I see the beautiful ocean view, do you live by the ocean?
Depending on how dry you fry it. Less moisture will last longer, but a little more chewy. Few days at room temperature is ok. Always perfect on a trip with some sticky rice. 😊
There’re several recipe for this menu and yes, some add the oyster sauce. For this version in the video, I think the taste is already a little salty. If you would like to add the oyster sauce then I’d recommend to reduce the fish sauce amount to 1 tbsp. Or premix the seasoning in a small bowl, add a little bit by bit and taste first before mixing with the beef 😊
Hi, looks great. I hope i can try it this year. I have a question, you use lots of fish sauce and im wondering... Do you have a preference between extract vs actual anchovy made? I was introduced to fish sauce last year by my friends husband who loves to cook. It was strange smell, but i got hooked. I bought one bottle, blue dragon i think, when i went to buy another i noticed that is was from extract. So i didnt buy it. I found one on amazon that is made in thailand that was not from extract. Its great. I only bring this up bcoz its better to get natural than anything that has been modified or tampered with. When the weather gets warmer here i really want to try making your dipping sauces ✧\(>o

Nueah Yang basically means grilled beef. It’s good, glad to hear you love it 😊
Do you recommend 2 tbsp oyster sauce also ? I see some thai people using oyster sauce in marinade also
