Police certificate or also known as Police clearance is one of the requirement for the immigrant visa interview. You must get police clearance from the place you have stayed the last 6 months. You will present it together with NBI clearance as a proof that you have no criminal record. :)

At this point in time, the National Visa Center will have cleared all of the documents BEFORE setting the interview, even collecting the originals. The appointment letter contains a list showing status of every document.

US visa interview is such a mess. The consular office is absolutely 3rd world condition but max security. There are hundreds of people crowded in one room, all standing, frustrated, tired, coughing and yawing. It is all about waste time waiting, coz the consular officer only have 3 min on each one after 2 hour waiting. The worker are very average person, don't think they would figure out a shit with those conversation. Both applicants and officer have hard time take break, get fresh air, relex and talk honestly. Some officer are nice people just doing the job, some show some kind of attitude and arrogance, but it is all about jealous - entry level extrapats trying to downgrade the doctors, businessman, professionals, really there is no big value in-person interview. They would have much better effects by screening the files and only interview the sketchy ones, the visa fee is $160, which is another rip-off.

I should have an interview next month, I am so excited to be marrying my fiance and I have already been to the US Embassy for my son's American passport and their really is no question about it don't forget any documents and don't be fooled that because you live in the UK that you won't be required to show your passport for identification etc I made the stupid mistake of thinking this.

If you are not mother Teresa just don't bother trying to get a Holliday visa for the usa. The application will take months then you will wast a day at the embassy just to have them say no. By this point Thay have all your biometric details and put you in the system as refused and put this on your passport chip. This fucks you up for Australian visa and everywhere elce!!! Just look smart buy the plain ticket and when you get there and they ask you if you have ever been in trouble with the law you say NO NEVER SIR they will strugle to get your police records from the uk and if you are polite and have a good holiday story and return plane ticket they will let you in.

She's not the interviewer. She just takes the documents and make sure you've got e everything then passes them to the interviewer.

Why bother going through all this headache when you can simply fly to Mexico and break into the U.S. like the other illegal aliens. You then just stay out of further trouble, work with whoever will hire you and wait long enough and America will grant you amnesty! What a country!

Believe me. They spent a lot of time on you by selecting you and collecting information about you. Before even you arrive into the interview. They already checked all about you, and to dismiss you would be very stupid thing even from their perspective.

Yes, unfortunately you will... People seeing this should order the second copy in the beginning. There a few of duplicate certificates you will need... ie Birth Certificates
