There haven't been many tenor posts lately, which I miss a lot, so this is great to see! Sergio does a heartfelt and lovely rendition of this song which comes from the musical, "Kismet", adapted from a classical melody composed by Alexander Borodin. Sergio sang this song in 1962 on Sunday Night at the London Palladium and was discovered by Norman Luboff on the occasion. He also sang it on an earlier Ed Sullivan episode, which has also been posted. Always love to see Sergio, and other tenors! Thank you!
This time the interpretation is more intimate than in the previous one, where the orchestra had a greater role... Both are excellent because the performer is magnificent, but in my case I prefer this 1968 version.
I remember watching him when I was a little girl. I didn't quite understand it but just that his voice was beautiful when I thought he was handsome and I remember one time it was singing, and my mother was asleep. And she said well, that man's voice woke me up. It was that powerful and beautiful😊😊

I jus love Sérgio franchising. Went his show in 1971 he preformed with CONIE STEVON LOVE HER ALSO
Kismet had gorgeous music so it's appropriate a gorgeous man like Sergio should sing it.
Wow! That first note was intensely perfect ❤. My dad was a huge fan of his.
