  • Welcome back to our channel! In today's video, we're diving into NHV Boot to tackle a crucial topic: troubleshooting and fixing BCD error 0xc0000098. If you're dealing with this error or any BCD-related issues, you've come to the right place. We'll guide you through resolving the error without the need to run a series of commands to rebuild the BCD.
Before we get started, it's important to remember to create a backup of your disk before attempting any repairs. If you're unsure how to create a backup, check out our previous video for a step-by-step guide.
In this video, we'll walk you through the troubleshooting process. We'll start by using Windows Repair to address the issue. If Windows Repair fails to fix the problem, we'll move on to step two, where we examine the BCD store using the Command Prompt and the "BCDedit /enum all" command. We'll closely analyze the output to identify any missing or incorrect entries.
During our investigation, we'll encounter entries such as the "Firmware Boot Manager" and the Windows Boot Manager located on the EFI System Partition. We'll explain their functions and how they relate to the Windows Boot Loader, which unfortunately turns out to be the Windows Repair Environment in our case.
If we discover a missing entry for the Windows Boot Loader, we'll introduce you to NeoSmart EasyBCD in step three. This user-friendly software tool allows us to add new boot entries, including the correct Windows Boot Loader entry pointing to our C drive. EasyBCD simplifies the process of managing the BCD and ensures the Boot Manager can locate the Boot Loader on the right partition.
After applying the necessary changes, we'll restart the computer and witness it booting into Windows successfully. To confirm the modifications made to the BCD, we'll use the "BCDedit /enum all" command once again and observe the newly added Windows Boot Loader entry.
That concludes our troubleshooting and fixing guide for BCD error 0xc0000098. By following this tutorial, you can save yourself the hassle of running multiple commands to rebuild the BCD. Maybe the usb drive can help too because it can repair by using cmd to fix bcd
Oh, and another one, don't use easybcd because it will corrupt your pc if you remove the bcd of your own windows except if you want to make it clone
