HOLY COW! 14 hours working on this computer and watching every how-to video in the world, and this got rid of the BCD error I created. I cannot believe I found your video. Although I am not out of the dark yet, I was able to get back the "Reset PC" option and no more error at startup. Thank you for making this program and video.
had this problem today after cloning a windows install, the boot configuration data was corrupted during the clone because windows detected a conflict of there being two identical BCD files on two separate drives, it unfortunately was corrupted on both the original drive and the SSD i was cloning it to, used the manual rebuilding steps after a couple hours of pain and now windows is booting just fine, replicated the fix a second time after reinstalling the original HDD. thank you dude youre a lifesaver
You are a lifesaver. Thank you so much. Followed all the steps and it took less than 10 mins. It spared me the headache of reinstalling windows and configuring it from scratch.
Clone of one M.2 NVME to another resulted in boot error. Ran the fix offered in this video and joy! The batch file accomplished what I had labored on for 2 hours trying to figure out the various errors I kept getting. Thank you!
@@ValiumMediaTechI need help with automatic repair boot loop ? Do I have to clone my hard drive first to run the tools as you have shown like formatting the boot volume v ( I know it’s any drive naming ) and rebuilding bcd files. All partitions show as healthy on all my volumes on diskpart details.
Currently having the same issue as you. I ran macrium to clone my boot drive onto a new nvme drive. It worked okay at first but when i tried to format the old drive, i got the same error. I managed to run it again from am hdd backup but i stumbled into the same problem when i accidentally formatted the backup hdd i have. Gonna try giving this a go
Had so much trouble with my drive, it would not boot, would come up with boot device not found, it would not even open winRE... spent hours researching and trying different fixes for the BCD but nothing worked... I would get it to a state where it looked like everything was pointing in the right direction but still no boot or RE. Installed windows on a new drive and it worked fine so I ruled out any bugs hiding in RAM or BIOS and went back to trying to repair BCD, even re-writting the BCD would not have any effect let alone fix the issue. So I gave up trying to make it boot and focused on getting the RE working again which is when I stumbled across you. I watched "How to Repair or Restore the Windows Recovery Environment WINRE | Fix ReAgentC errors in Windows 10" over and over again trying fixes but still no love from the drive. Then I spotted this video and gave it a try and it fixed the issue 1st go. Now I have RE working and the thing even boots without a reload! You sir are awesome! I can not thank you enough for your awesome vid so I just sent you 50 bucks Australian.

Amazing tutorial. I have an example to the category C, obviously... bootrec /fixboot returns The volume does not contain a recognized file system. The boot error message is "Bad System Config Info"
Morning, As all others have said, this also got me out of a boot fix after cloning my SSD to an old(ish) SATA drove, both 1Tby...I got a few errors when running your script, very well written I thought!, it did complete however, and exited. I selected 'continue to Windows' but that didnt work. so switched off and restarted, the system then did an awful lot of disk checking, I have the SSD, the old SATA drive and two further 2 & 1 Tby data drives.. All went ok after the longisg scan EXCEPT, I noted there was nothing in the SSD 99Mby boot partition, but it all the BCD stuff was in the Sata drives boot partition. The system have started up from the Sata boot partion (on drive G) but had loaded the system from the C drive, I could tell this as the loading was so rapid. I just started and selected the other drive and its taken about 10/12 mins to start up... So How do I set the system up so the SSD is booted from directly .. I have left everything pretty much alone, was just going to copy over the BCD partions from G: to C: (unformatted by the way on C) but have though it worth speaking to you first.. I have the scrren shot of the BCD.. I also appear to have two identical SATA boot options in the ROG Bios menu, one takes me to an option to boot from SSD the or Sata disk (Vols 6 & 1) the other Bios option, with identical name, pruduces a blue scree saying there is an error in the BCD file and I have to restart.. this looks like it may well be an errant BCD copy to one of the partitions on the SATA drive.. or the fact that the SSD Boot partition is empty.. Any idea on that one. The system has just booted in a few mins from selecting Option 2 in Bios menu and then Volume 6 from the next screen, Volume 1 is drive G, the Sata drive.. I can forward 3 screenshots showing the abve details... Any idea how to get rid of the errant entry in the Bios menu AND how the just boot from the SSD, not via the Sata drive.. What about RAID1 software, managed by windows? if i need to recreate it from scratch having two disks in a RAID1 (system reserved and primary partition).
It was not working for Windows 8. I was wondering for very long time why... But U know why ? Because I was starting Windows 10 Pendrive formated as GPT and UEFI drive. But my RAID-1 drive was.... MBR. So you have to add additional checking scenario for such case. When I started Windows Setup pendrive with UEFI but drive is still formated as MBR. So the Auto Scan said that they found Windows on (C) and that there was a failure when attempting to copy boot files. It also says that my disk scheme is MBR, but when I did your other vid tutorial I found my system on GPT. And it says my BCD is on Partition (E) and asks me to be 100% sure that its not my Windows or USB Drive Partition. Because if I say yes itll delete the partition ans everything in it. (And im not sure how to check to confirm either) Im unsure if i should say yes or no here?
Hey, I don't know if you're there or you could me with this but I loaded your batch script, it located the letter of my System Partition "N" and says that the BCD files are on it. It asks me if "N" is my system partition, yes it is. But it asks me to confirm if the System Partition "N" is not my Windows partition and it asks me if I want to delete the System Partition which is "N". Is this necessary? I want to make sure if I should delete the System Partition because it looks like I need too. I just want to make sure, I don't want to screw anything up
Seem you have selected to recreate the EFI partition from scratch. You can select to repair the BCD file only if you are not sure if the N is your EFI partition. The following video can help you to differentiate between windows and EFI partitions: ruclips.net/video/tYUBiWO0P9o/видео.html

I try to bcdedit in command prompt and it won’t allow me, so I assume it is a bcd problem. I tried this and it could locate what windows is there but couldn’t actually boot the bcd files on it. I’ve been looking at solutions for hours and each solution just brings up another problem after another. I’m getting very confused after running into so many problems.
Seems your system files are missing or severely corrupted. So, remove all new partitions that you have created and then try to repair your system before building the BCD. I have a problem, when I run the software it says that the windows partition cannot be found, and when I search on "this pc" to see where my SSD with windows on it is, i dont find it, do you think its because my pc no longer recognize my ssd? I need help
Maybe your windows partition has no an assigned letter or your windows files are not available. hi again. what happens to me is when I start your auto fix it finds the auto boot file on my USB (I am using the windows media recovery off of the USB) my reserve is empty so it does not see anything there. so when I hit no to erase the USB it then closes so it will not automatically load the files in the new empty reserve. so if I uunderstand you before. you want me to delete the system reserve so the auto can boot the boot files on my main c drive? which would mean I have no partition other than the 1 for the drive c correct? where in the past it had 2 partitions reserve and drive c

Sameee broooo like he is him bro I like tried more than 20 solutions by copilot and nearly 10 vids and this one is fireee
had this problem today after cloning a windows install, the boot configuration data was corrupted during the clone because windows detected a conflict of there being two identical BCD files on two separate drives, it unfortunately was corrupted on both the original drive and the SSD i was cloning it to, used the manual rebuilding steps after a couple hours of pain and now windows is booting just fine, replicated the fix a second time after reinstalling the original HDD.

@@kitsumyr9752 you need to format the fat32 partition that’s your boot drive not the windows 🪟 partition
Amazing tutorial. I have an example to the category C, obviously... bootrec /fixboot returns The volume does not contain a recognized file system. The boot error message is "Bad System Config Info"
If the partition C is not your windows partition, then you can try to recreate the BCD from scratch using the auto batch file as shown on the video.
Morning,
As all others have said, this also got me out of a boot fix after cloning my SSD to an old(ish) SATA drove, both 1Tby...I got a few errors when running your script, very well written I thought!, it did complete however, and exited. So
How do I set the system up so the SSD is booted from directly ..
Here is a text version of the BCD output after running your script-

Not working for me. Says windows partition can't be found. Help please
Hey, I don't know if you're there or you could me with this but I loaded your batch script, it located the letter of my System Partition "N" and says that the BCD files are on it. Yes, that may mean you have convert your disk from GPT to MBR.
hey....so do you know how can i solve this now..
@@amtzgaming3688 Does windows files exist or deleted after conversion?
If deleted, then you have to reinstall windows in your PC, But your are advised to convert your disk back to GPT.

It will not erase everything, however, if you are unable to follow the app instructions correctly, you are advised to not try it.
Thx for the video , when trying to fix this 0xc0000001using the script and done all steps , i failed.
But i realized that my problem was my windows drive is renamed from C to F
Then system drive from F to C 😅
What to do ??
Windows partition always takes the C letter if you started it normally to your desktop, but when booting to Windows Recovery Environment, it may take another letter rather than the C, and that is a normal thing.
I love you guy. God bless you

i did everything correctly but the operating system keeps on rebooting but the bcd error is gone though the only problem is its not proceeding into its operating system by the way i used windows 11
Try to disable automatic restart, after that, open Event Viewer to see what is the event that leads to system restart, then fix the error source.

Hi, how about "EFI MICROSOFT BOOT BCD 0XC00000D" error? Im facing this issue right now. Hoping for your fast reply, Sir🙏🏻
Im installing Win10 from a bootable usb drive. It was successfully installed since it shown ✅ on all the progress. But then it restarted by itself, and giving me that error.
- If you have more two hard disks (e.g. SSD and HDD) and you are trying to install win10 into SSD, then make sure there is no another windows in the HDD drive, otherwise, disconnect the HDD and then try reinstalling windows again.
- If you are trying to install a new windows to a hard disk that has an old windows installed on it, then make sure to delete the old windows partition, recovery partition and (EFI or System) partition, after that create a new partition from all unallocated space or just select the Unallocated space and then click Next to start windows installation.
ruclips.net/video/tYUBiWO0P9o/видео.html
- If previous suggestions not helped, try to recreate the bootable USB using Rufus tool using another computer, or using Ventoy app in your mobile.
ruclips.net/video/VftmUgeRJa8/видео.html
You may need to download a new ISO file of windows 10 to make sure that the problem is not related to a corruption in your old windows 10 files.
- If all previous suggestions not helped, you may need to think about a hardware corruption in hard disk or RAM.
the command completed successfully
your disk scheme is GPT
find the drive letter of EFI partition.
Mount EFI using MOUNTVOL tool
the system cannot find the file specified
the fi partition can't be detect
unavailability of system partition may indicate that you have cloned your old disk to this disk you have removed the efi if that was true do you want to create a new efi partition
if i pressed Y then:
MSR and EFI partition are only supported on GPT disks
convert the selected disk to GPT and try again.
the system partition was not found
the requested system device cannot be found
Maybe you have more than one disk in your computer, in which one disk is GPT and the second desk is MBR.
When running the rebuild file, it will ask again and again "do u want to format it? And keep going if i say yes, wont do anything else
Which partition you are asked to format?

Which step?
After the parts thats saying “ignored”
Total number of windows installation is showing 0. Please help
That is normal if you have not format the system or EFI partition, as the operating system is already added into BCD file.
If that appears even after formatting the system partition, this may indicate that you don't have a valid windows files.

Hi, I'm hoping you can help with the following error message; when I boot into the Windows 11 Install command prompt, and type 'bcdedit' - "the boot configuration data store could not be opened. The requested system device cannot be identified due to multiple indistinguishable devices potentially matching the identification criteria." Could this be because I'm attempting to install Windows 11 on a Mac Pro (5,1) with Bootcamp \ Open Core Legacy Patcher, I have tried using your zip file and it does recognise my Windows installation but I cannot boot into Windows; is there anything I can do?
If there is more than one EFI partition, then you have to remove it and keep only one EFI partition. After that, try to rebuild the BCD again.
@@ValiumMediaTech Thank you, your reply is much appreciated; just a few quick questions. As I cannot use bcdedit, how will I know which EFI partition(s) I can or cannot remove please; and would removing the wrong EFI not effect my existing OSX boot? Is there any other safer way of doing this, thanks again.
@@gtxplay First, you have to identify the EFI or system partition by showing its contents using "DIR /A ......." command, after assigning a free letter for all partitions. Watch this video for more details:

Also you can upload a video for list of your volumes and for the contents of EFI partitions or volumes to get a help.

You'll never be able to fix the similar issues that result from cloning a SATA m2 SSD to a NVMe m2 SSD! I've used many cloning programs and regardless I've used none of them helped me cloning the NVMe m2 SSD so that can make it error free! The laptop's BIOS sees it, tries to boot from it but it doesn't enter in Windows and instead returns errors. The only solution of using the NVMe on the same laptop is to do a clean Windows Install!
Thanks for addition
Thank you so much!!!!
