I used to do this. Working nights, keeping myself sane by going thru the tv times Christmas issue, ticking the films I wanted to watch. Then watching not a one of them. Just looking ahead while nostalgiacally looking back. Ah, the films we love and will (probably) never stay awake thru again, lullabies for the eyes, warm blankets for the soul
Fat Controller-Nah, but bloody funny Mr K. Thank you for sorting my Christmas viewing too, and a bloody good Christmas to all the film conneisurrs that need the escape from our real worlds and then temporarily reside in magical ones.
Another person who's seen and liked Matinee here. It's a love letter to William Castle and his techniques to thrill audiences who were watching his films.
I'm in much the same boat. Didn't think it was all that bad when I first saw it, started off well, but wasn't sure why it had got such a lot of thumbs up from critics. I felt it was too in thrall to the works of others and got very silly towards the end.
Quite agree, wasn't entirely without merit though. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, I wouldn't discourage people to watch it either. Just proceed with caution really!
"I know I bring The Exorcist into everything but..." ha ha Mark! Brilliant video and a lot of these films are my favorites, so I will be watching :D x

Pride is such a lovely film. Ending makes me weep- so moving.
I've never seen it, but will be giving that one a watch over Christmas, looks interesting.
I love that Mark likes Inkheart! It is so fashionable to dismiss it but Paul Bettany is so great in it.
Seriously, with young Bilbo (sort of) for avatar, and not mentioning gleeful Andy Serkis?
You've managed to get Emma, The Exorcist, Bowie, Muppets and Alan Partridge in ten Minutes :) marvellous.
I started living in Manchester this year for University and in the Northern Quarter theres a Bowie mural. It still makes me well up a little.
Thanks for the Bill & Ted nod, so many people hate them, I thought both were brilliant
So this is the point at which the Christmas Double Edition of the Radio Times became history.

I think he likes Emma.
"It's only forever".
No mention of Ethel and Ernest, I'm disappointed. Just want to hear you're thoughts on it, is that too much to ask.
Love Eternal Sunshine.
First as well. I dont care about it but i just noticed it
Colossal Velocity
Might give the Guest a second chance. Saw it the first time expecting it to be like Drive, which it wasn't. Maybe it's better than I remember.

Yah, it's hard to figure out what it's supposed to be by the end. Such a mish mash of lots of different genres.
Quite agree, wasn't entirely without merit though. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, I wouldn't discourage people to watch it either. Just proceed with caution really!
Yes quite. I still can appreciate why people like it.
Saving Mr Banks was a brilliant film Hanks was Walt Disney
Art through adversity.
Mark...the idea of watching flow televison is outdated.
