I met Anita's parents last summer in Bordeaux on a vineyard trip with my girlfriend. Very friendly people who lived in Mosul and liked us since my girlfriend is Iraqi. They were both super friendly and nothing like Anita at all, even though they were very proud of her and what she does. They were also, both of them, the biggest goofers I've ever seen. They brought their own professional camera and interviewed all the vineyard owners and the tour guide the whole time. Great friendly people but very very goofy. Maybe that's why Anita is so angry.

I don't agree entirely - I think it's fair to consider or explain a certain person (or rather - their position/stance on certain things and/or issues) as being privileged/pushed by a certain privilege or, as it's really more often used to indicate, the absence/lack of certain issues in one's life. I think it's a term that is definitely (or rather, should be) usable when discussing people's stances on issues in a, preferably constructive, debate/discussion. Of course, the term 'privilege'/'privileged' is definitely used to just shut people down and/or disregard their opinion/views entirely, which is pretty much the opposite of all of the above - which is unfortunate!

I met Anita's parents last summer in Bordeaux on a vineyard trip with my girlfriend. Very friendly people who lived in Mosul and liked us since my girlfriend is Iraqi. They were both super friendly and nothing like Anita at all, even though they were very proud of her and what she does. They were also, both of them, the biggest goofers I've ever seen. They brought their own professional camera and interviewed all the vineyard owners and the tour guide the whole time. Great friendly people but very very goofy. Maybe that's why Anita is so angry.

I don't agree entirely - I think it's fair to consider or explain a certain person (or rather - their position/stance on certain things and/or issues) as being privileged/pushed by a certain privilege or, as it's really more often used to indicate, the absence/lack of certain issues in one's life. I think it's a term that is definitely (or rather, should be) usable when discussing people's stances on issues in a, preferably constructive, debate/discussion.
Of course, the term 'privilege'/'privileged' is definitely used to just shut people down and/or disregard their opinion/views entirely, which is pretty much the opposite of all of the above - which is unfortunate!

Don't think she did it on purpose. I followed a bit of that "Notch's party" thing. Anita was there to get contacts, she was there to befriend Notch. She failed miserably. Point is she wanted to give a good impression. The way she acted at this party just show that she is pretty dumb and clueless. She doesn't know how to interact properly with people (that's why she is a feminist, she can interact and get approval from people who are as clueless as she is).

Well, most videogame protagonists aren´t women, most of them are capable, male and most of the women they interact with are sexy or evil and don´t get much characterization. When you´re a guy playing video games you´re pretty much automatically identifying with the PC and if that PC is male and the only women he interacts with are pretty minor character relegated to being eye candy that´s kinda bad if you ask me.
Like it indirectly sends the message that men act and women get acted upon, men get things done and women look good and serve as a kind of reward. Obviously that´s not what the devs intend to say, but it´s definitely there.

I went and saw her speak in person a few months ago. I got the impression that she does genuinely believe the stuff she says. Which would explain why all her questions for the Q&A of the event were prescreened, and why she avoids situations where she might be actively challenged on her beliefs.
If she was a con artist, she wouldn't go to such measures to never be exposed to anything that might cause her to doubt her narrative.
It's the reason why cults demand people ditch their family and friends (or at least, the ones they can't convert). It's not because the people indoctrinated into the cult don't have genuine belief--it's that their genuine belief can't be maintained unless it's shielded from scrutiny and challenge.
It would also explain why she was so angry at Boogie, and lost her temper with him, and why she accused him of saying what he did and claiming she had no "opportunity to answer it". She couldn't answer it then and there because she had no answer ready, but she felt she HAD to answer it because it struck at the heart of what she believes.

The reason people don't believe Anita is genuine is because she used to be a scam artist. She used to take part in pyrmaid schemes, and host "get rich quick" seminars, that type of shit. Now, whether her newest endeavors are scams or not, I don't know, but I know the money she's raking in is huge. I mean, 25k to open a discord server, something that's free to do and takes 10 minutes.
