- We install a 5 inch MBRP exhaust to go with the 3 inch MBRP down pipe that we just installed in the last video! This includes basic install and sound clips of the finished system! This was a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.6 Duramax.
light on the subject....
Well I know what mod to do next for my LLY! Lol 😆 great video, cheers! 🍻
Go for it!
EFILive
Another great video Danny
Thanks again!
Would have liked to heard what holding 45 and 60-70mph sounds like. Stomping from idle isn’t the only driving sound to check for. I got the gist of that after the fourth one.
they seem to only have the cat back exhaust setups. is that what this is?
What about the check engine light for the cat
A 2005 Duramax doesn't have rear 02 sensors, so it won't kick a code. This truck already had a aftermarket exhaust before.
@@slow_restoration yeah lol no 02senor only nox sensor ...was doing a little reaching.....only newer vehicles have nox sensors if I'm correct. Just want to make sure before I take my exhaust out of my 2007 chevy
Lly fe9 truck no check engine light. You can remove the entire EGR system off this truck also without tuning and you will not get a cel.
Love my lly
Didbyou have trouble with the hangers? I just put in a 4 in and none of the hanger matched up. I think 3 out of 5 is all icould get to match up
No, they all fit. Make sure you have the clamp hangers in the right spots. It does take some adjusting.
I'm just sitting here wondering about those tires! They look huge on stock wheels lol. What size are they and is that truck lifted to clear them??
Have a 04.5 is there a 5’ exhaust kit for or do i have to get it for 05 model kit?
Same parts, both LLY's
Is this the installer series or the XP series. I’m looking at getting the same set up on my duramax, but I wanted to make sure I get the right one.
Hmmmm.... not sure, the customer brought the parts.
@@slow_restoration it’s all good
Can you do PO V test try On your 2500 GMC Yukon
Sure!
so do you need a adapter from the downpipe to the exhaust? or does it come with one
and is there anything else done to the truck, as the time of the recording
It does come ready to install. Shouldn't need a adapter.
@@slow_restoration so just the 3” downpipe and the 5” mbrp and exhaust will work? thanks
I’m really liking the 5” option, problem is I have a friend who owned a similar truck to mine and he said no 5” it kills the power and makes more lag. All the forums I’ve read said no difference between 4&5 really. So how about lag? Noticeable or not? The 3 to 4 steps probably help keep the back pressure. Any other mods?
This isn't my truck I just did the install, but he hasn't said anything about lag. This truck has a Edge tuner and intake system with the exhaust.
Thanks for the response, it’s a great install video! Just purchased mine from MBRP but I got the muffler with it. I’ll tho the down pipe on also. Hopefully it goes smoothly!
5" is deeper tone/growl. 4" will give more trubo sound...
The adapters are for you to keep the cat and muffler if you want too
@@GMCJay_llyyou have that backwards 5 inch will "scream" when you get on it 4 inch is rumbly with loud turbo
Does the exhaust need the 3” down pipe to work?
No, it will bolt to the stock down pipe!
Can you get enough back pressure with a five inch pipe?
It's a diesel, they like a free flowing exhaust.
Don't need/want any with diesel...
Anyone know the model of this exhaust ? Want to get it.
How much was it ?
What size tires on this truck?
