All right Saleem on the other side of the planet. Liked and subscribed. I'll join you on this ride and add my 2 cents with the other recommendations to check out Afreen Afreen. Sung by Rahat and featuring Momina Mustehsan. She has what I think is quite possibly the sweetest voice of anyone anywhere. It makes me smile from the first word she sings. Rather than an epic spiritual experience like Tu Jhoom, Afreen Afreen sings the praises of a beautiful woman to her creator. Interesting bit of trivia, Afreen Afreen was composed by Rahat's uncle, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and recorded in 1996 with Javhed Ahktar, who wrote the lyrics. Keep moving forward. You're doing great and I can prove it! I'm from Canada, which means you're growing an engaged international audience. (Well done you.)
Charles, I was in a friend’s office talking to him about my life and worries. I was so consumed by those feelings. I noticed your comment and decided to read it. How glad I am I did. Thank you so much. It meant the world to me today. Bruce and I actually reacted to Afreen Afreen yesterday :) I’m in the process of editing and uploading. Keep a look out yeah? If there’s any other song you’d like - I’d love to do one just for you. Enjoy the weekend, and thanks for the comment that made my day, Saleem.
@@IAM_SALEM Qawali is the most beloved and quite popular form of singing & music in Pakistan 🇵🇰 Rahat Fatah Ali Khan & Abida parveen are legendary singers of Pakistan 🇵🇰 & have been recognised by the International Music Awards for their music performances ❤ Definitely you should react to Nusrat Fateh Ali khan the uncle of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan the legend
This is a Sufi song composed in the 6th Century by the Poet Khusro. Also, Abida Parveen is a legendary singer as accomplished and famous as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Rumi's "beloved" is Allah or God. He was an Islamic scholar and theologaun and a Sufi poet. In the West he's been somewhat 'whitewashed' to the extent that most traves of Islam have been removed from his works to make him more palatable to western sensibilities. This song is also a sufi song, and ultimately addressed to the divine.
They are saying: you even took away my “chaap” when you looked into my eyes. “Chaap” is the mark you get on you forehead where it repeatedly touches the ground when you offer prayers for years. It takes some time to form and some time to disappear. In essence he is saying to his Guru that you made me forget god. These metaphors have many layers of meaning and they are just exquisite.
Greetings from Pakistan. Brice got it spot -on with regard to his remarks about Rumi. This one also follows the same philosophy.. Brilliant reactions indeed. Best wishes for the channel. With warm regards

Wow Saleem you have got the perfect partner to do this job. I mean the way Mr. Bruce explains it is amazingly beautiful❤❤❤ I mean he explains it so deeply and with such new and beautiful examples❤❤❤
This is Sufi poetry, in the same vein as Rumis poetry. Love here is a metaphor for devotion to the spiritual being. Your gora friend is very insightful. Khusro, the poet, is one of the most well known of the classical Sufi poets of the Indus region.
Chaapp Tilak Sab Chheeni is considered as Amir Khusru‘s most known Kalam which is basically a penned version of his imagination of devotion and the joy of oneness with the eternal one
Around 600 years of classical music in rfak family. Also this performance was actually just a rehearsal but it was so good that we are watching their first pure attempt
Its great to see how music has no language and how people from completely different orientations actually understand the deep spiritual emotion behind those divine voices and words. Bravo 👏🏻 Pls do react to “Bol Hu” by Nescafe Basement….. you two will be blown away😍
Just watched all of your reactions on some of songs from coke studio, I would suggest reacting/ watching Alif Drama OST Track, its OST for a Pakistani serial But i am sure you'll enjoy the lyrics of the song.
Thanks guy loved your reaction and interpretation of it, looking forward to more reactions :) I suggest more songs from Coke Studios, plz consider reacting to Phir Milenge from S14.
