George Clinton on Mothership Connection

In early 2014 ACM students had the pleasure to attend a Masterclass with George Clinton hosted by Metropolis Studios. Most known Parliament and Funkadelic, Clinton is one of the pioneers of funk music.

Going up as a kid in and 70s and 80s . Listing to music while starring at those albums covers. George Clinton and Rick James became like my black superheroes. I love lots of music but those two were bigger than the music.

Wow, that sounded incredible. I've been a fan every since I heard Mothership Connection in the early 70s. I went to my first concert, which was Parliament-Funkadelic when I was around ten years old. Their music is the soundtrack of my life. P-Funk-4-Life.

When you talk about "Funk" there are two names that you don't need to search any further than! "James Brown" and "George Clinton." But it just wouldn't seem fair if we didn't add "Bootsy Collins" because he laid down some serious Funk too. But there you have it, the Trinity Of Funk and those roots bared the best fruit in Funk history. 👑🎤🎷🎺🎸🥁🎹🎛️🎶
