  • This is a easy DIY copper pool ionizer. I found everything I needed at home depot. I can't remember, but it was around $50 to make this thing.

So copper naturally kills algea. This set up infuses the copper into the pool. So a update on this. My set up coroded away. But I don't think you need this. I think if you throw copper into the pool, it will do the same thing.

Thats what I was wondering too, and ended up using something I had at the house already. Pretty sure the more volt output the more ionizing you will get. The copper pipes caroded pretty fast. Its still floating in the pool to this day, and I can tell you, that I don't notice much of any difference in anything in the pool (4 months). Small black algea spots still exist, but are slightly smaller, maybe the copper is preventing more growth. If I had to do it again, I'd just throw some copper fitings or pipes in the leaf catcher, and call it a day.
