Wow, this is a no cost for any DYI guy. Going to give this a try a the pool chemicals are outrageously high cost and the pool supply stores got you hooked before you walk in the door.
Thank you for the tip.
🤠
Thanks Jay! Watching your video saved me $$$ - didn’t have to buy the copper anti algae thing from the pool supply store!
Why does that work? Do you have a results video too?
I had a solar Ionizer floating in my pool for weeks and I still got mustard algae,
Clever tip. I think you're in FL right? Have you seen this manage mustard algae all summer long? Thanks!
Just FYI. That is not 2" PVC. More like 1/2" or 3/4". Thanks for the idea!
Why not just put a copper piece in strainer? Why go through all this trouble if it is copper that does the job? Would like to see follow up video on what the pool looks like now and what your copper piece looks like?
He wanted to protect his basket from getting slowly dinged by the copper which is a harder material.
Looks simple, so it's the copper that cleans it?
I have an above ground pool Do you think this will work in my pool?
Before you do this search copper in pool water. Its something about turning hair green. I never did it so I could be wrong
Has anyone tried this out and did it work? Looks way too simple, yet brilliant if indeed turns out to be a solid and simple fix to eliminating algae from pools. Thanks for sharing the video Sir.
Well, I did have to use some extra copper. I had some copper elbows and butt joints available. I used about 8 extra pieces in the basket and it did solve the problem. My pool is approximately 20,000 gallons. This will work for above ground pools.
Yes, I do it every year and it works great. Crystal clear water
Great vid👍...can ya tell me how to "reset" my induction cooktop double unit..it displays code "EA" (reset) on the right element, no worky, lol...how do I reset? The left element is fine
Can you find the manual online?
How can you do this for an above ground pool?
Look up pool rx
Not enough explanation, sorry. So, it's the copper that's reacting with the water? Why the pvc? Why the copper inside the pvc? Can this be used in a small pond with animal life and not be toxic?
@RussianGirlShowPanties I missed it! Ok, will give it a listen again, thanks.
So what about Copper sulfate? do i just put it in panty hose?
What was the other object in the skimmer?
It’s a thermometer 🌡️
Helps
It should work really well.
Salt water pools or only chlorine?
Mine is a chlorine pool.
I use liquid chlorine
How long until it works
it depends on the size of your pool.
@@JHTC my pool is 10.000
Why not just stick the copper pipe in there?
To protect the basket.
Wish you had explained "How"it works. I mean, I trust that you know what you're doing, but I'm one of those annoying people who always need to understand the "why" behind the concept. lol
MY POOL IS 18,000 GALLONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
