Happy to see how much you liked Destiny! It was a grower for me. They tried some new stuff on this track; Jen took the lead during the verse, and John did backing vocals that were quite "rap-metal" influenced during those verses. And the bridge also seemed very rap-metal-like to me because of John's cadence during that part, as well as the screams in the background (which I wish were louder!) John said in an interview that the song is about forgiveness. "I'm free of all the rage I thought would never leave This darkness ain't my destiny!" But obviously, the song's lyrics open it up for the listeners interpretation. And the high note in the chorus sounded really good with John's vocals! 😎 Is it just me, or does this song sound like it would have come out like 10 years ago? With that acoustic intro, some rap influences, and the soaring yet somewhat mellow chorus... Sounds like it would have come out in like 2008 or something haha
Damn, dude. I discovered this band barely a year or two, maybe even three, ago, and while I'm not religious, I REALLY LOVE THEM. I mean, even if I'm not a believer, somehow every time I listen to them I feel like understood. I'm actually somewhat of a little depressive person, I've had a few problems with that, but every time I feel even the slightest like that and listen to Skillet, I feel better, like they somehow help me feel better (I wanna feel better XD) with their songs as I feel understood by someone, like I feel I'm not alone through this. I just said something a little spiritual, but that's the best way I can put this in words. I really love them. Specially Jen, damn she's perfect. Btw, I've LOVED VERY SIGLE ALBUM, EVERY SINGLE SONG, of theirs ever since Collide, 2003. My favorite songs are now Standing in the Storm, Ignite, The Resistance, Stars, Not Gonna Die, Battle Cry, Awake and Alive, Hero, Monster, Whispers in the Dark and Collide, being Whispers in the Dark, Standing in the Storm and Awake and Alive my top three :D
OH YEAH..and one more thing. At the beginning of your video, you say "detinyyyyy". The way you did that has now become a new catch-phrase for my family. Congrats!!!
If and when they go out on a dominion tour this year, really hoping they add this and “beyond incredible” To the setlist! Seeing them for the first time next week and it probably won’t be the last time I see em!
Destiny is my number 1 followed by refuge and surviving the game. The synchronicity between John and Jen and those high crescendos by John in the chorus is insane. The opening swell after John's softer vocals blew me away when Jen comes out bellowing. I also get vibes of I want to live which is a powerful song in its own right
to me the final song for this album is honestly ass, as much as i hate to say it, i liked a couple of the tracks on this album, but i wish they would go back to the days with songs like comatose, monster, rebirthing etc
Destiny is one of the best tracks on the project in my opinion. Jen's vocals go so hard 🤘

I agree with the old school sound! Sounds like it could have been on Awake in some parts!
Destiny has that feeling to make you wanna stare death into the eyes and not have any fear anywhere throughout your body.
Jen commands this song. If it isn't her astounding vocals, it's her drums, especially her pedal work.
The outro to the chorus is perfect for crowd interaction. This song will go hard in concert! "No, oh, ohhhh. I make my destiny!"
John’s range in this song is amazing…. Of course how Jen sings ‘this is my destiny’ 🔥
