Good advice - especially about treating your music studio computer differently from your personal computer. My MacBook pro is still on Ventura and I plan to leave it there for quite a while until I am sure all the audio software is compatible with the next OS version. As for Windows 11 PCs vs. MacBook Ventura, I have personally found that Windows 11 is optimized for doing "batch processing tasks", so apps like Sound Forge, Photoshop, MS Office, Email, browsing the Internet, etc. work fine. However, when it comes to "demanding real-time audio tasks" like DJ DVS software, performing with Ableton Live etc. where low latency requirements are super important and you cannot afford any USB/MIDI burps or hiccups while you are playing/recording your music, a MacBook Pro on Ventura is the far superior option. My MacBook Pro has never messed up with real-time music software and it also runs much cooler with longer battery life than my Windows 11 PC. So I do all my real-time music/audio tasks on my MacBook Pro, and I do the batch processing (higher latency) tasks on my Windows 11 PC, and that arrangement has been working out good for me so far.
I never upgraded unless it’s something I want, which is never lol. Don’t care about features. As long as my programs work I could care less about OS features
Maybe now with Logic 11 is worth considering but yet the Daw does not have crazy upgrades for Pro. Stem splitter is the only real new feature that feels worth going through the trouble

A new operating system every year sucks big time for everyone. Definitely don't upgrade to Sonoma a LOT of software is not compatible. Which features of a new OS are really useful in practise? Even snow leopard was just fine decades ago. It's mind boggling what they want with the constant flow of new Mac OS...
Hi. I am on both Mac and PC. Sorry to say, but you are contradiction yourself here. "Mac OS is about adding new features and windows updates is about stability" and then you go on to say "Don't update to Sonoma cause it will break your system". That sounds to me like Mac OS updates is very much about messing with the core and adding instability and problems. And I agree that Mac OS updates usually break some stuff. Sonoma 14.0 brought some issues for me, but Sonoma 14.1 seems ok. With that said I agree that it is is risky and unnecessary road to update at once. But please don't say Mac is adding features and Windows is not, that just is not true, they both change the core and often cause issues and also both add features and functions.
We will have to agree to disagree as I too operate windows and all I get are security updates, rarely and new compelling features. Different story when they come out with a new operation system which is fairly rare. Every Mac OS brings new compelling features, some more than others depending on workflow/needs. Again both are great. Also keep in mind that DAW users are a. Where are you small percentage of max users. We all know or should know that we should never jump on the latest and creates os release.

Invest in hardware, tired of updates. Apple took away my apple id for no
reason whatsoever. Looking into a dedicated hardware mutitrack recorder that can do the job.
an upgrade means better than before but on mac an upgrade means so many things will not work so why upgrade i think somebody is not telling apple the truth about the upgrades
I would agree with you for the first month, after that, smooth sailing.
ompability issues on mac too frustrating they even tell you to contact software developers, thanks for replying@@BarryJohns
I upgrade my 24-inch iMac M1 to Ventura to macOS 14 Sonoma without backing up my computer but for my files I used iCloud instead. When I made the leap to macOS Sonoma I was surprised that my iMac doesn't have any problem from using the operating system because I do basic tasks and used it for entertainment. I have found that my iMac running Sonoma was pretty much stable and the performance was perfect I have encounter any problems whatsoever. I pretty much love Sonoma and also i can't wait for macOS 15 in 2024 so I could upgrade to that version as well if the features or anything that sort that makes my interests my needs to upgrade to that newer version of macOS. 😇🥰😁
Facts
Never upgrade. I just ride it
Out till I get a new rig
A new operating system every year sucks big time for everyone. Definitely don't upgrade to Sonoma a LOT of software is not compatible. Which features of a new OS are really useful in practise? Even snow leopard was just fine decades ago. It's mind boggling what they want with the constant flow of new Mac OS...
More useless features that I almost never use, problem is some app like the web browser make upgrade necessary for certain website to work
We all know or should know that we should never jump on the latest and creates os release.
...my mammy told me : ))
You wasted almost half of the video on an irrelevant aspect of the question those of us that clicked on your video wanted to hear your opinion... so I didn't even stay to hear the answer... 🤨
You have a choice, don’t watch, why you feel the need to tell me how to run MY channel says a lot about you.
@@BarryJohns Did I hurt your feelings? lol
i work with Mac. Linux and Windows and you are completely ignorant on Windows
Microsoft released a new version of windows like every 3 to 6 years while MACs were trapped with MAC OS 10.X from 2001 to 2019 lol
Only in the past 4 years has Apple stepped on the gas with the development of MAC OS
Well somebody demonstrating ignorance and it’s not me. I too have maintained a windows machine along with my Mac since the 90’s.
