I normally can get 15-20 minutes with my ankle weights and then I would get that strike saying that it detected a cheating device. I found i can avoid the strike if I have it hanging loose and lifting it up enough so that it doesn't detect the extra weight. I haven't got done an unlimited trip in quite awhile and I think it depends on traffic conditions and time of day. I did a two hour trip last year in Pennsylvania and realized I never got prompted.
I got the cheating device message for the first time ever yesterday. Didn’t realize what was going on and it disabled auto steer for the remainder of the trip. Then today I drove 1hr non stop with it and got nothing.
This still works. I own the same one in the video, and it still works with Autopilot and FSD, but you need to add weight to it since Tesla’s update. I bought adhesive wheel weights used to balance tires and stuck a few of the weights on the back side of the device, and it works fine.
Yup the update sensed the weights of prodcuts being sold ....You change it up some and success. It's be very hard to find a way for Tesla to adjust to the weight of people hands on the steering wheel. It'll be a game of tag. And they cannot out and out spy on you. So it's just risk on the drivers part. Even if I choose to use the weight. I pay attention more than ever when I use FSD Thanks for sharing.
@@iambenmitchell It still works, although I find that with Full Self Driving Enabled, it will sometimes nag you about it. With regular Autopilot, it just works and never nags you.

Just got mine and I still put in the original position. Through some research this device is not idiot proof. I never leave it on all the time only when I activate FSD and then clip it on take it off right after disengage FSD. It basically mimic the weight that you have one hand on the steering wheels. Works great for me driving around the city. I also order a nag elimination chip that you can put in and it mimic the scrolling of the volume or the speed but it doesn't effect your original speed .
We all know about this not supposed to talk about it we’ve already gotten features taken from us from people posting the wrong things 🤦🏾♂️ but be safe out there
Mine still works, I have gotten message about it I just turn off auto pilot or remove the weight for a while I drove hundreds of miles without any problems but take it off when supper charge then put it back on when you see the warning do away with it for a while
I think they have to come up with something new I think there's enough demand for it. Some kind of device that way you would be battery powered or pendulum dependent and defeat this

This nonsense feature is because of FSD safety concerns so they just ram it in to every Tesla. Cars have had auto cruise control stay in lane since the mid 90's - and do not give drivers this grief - and todays EV's pretty much all have it and some are way better than what we get with the basic autopilot and they dont demand you grip the srteering wheel as your in a wrestling match. I have to grip the steering wheel so hard it totally defeats the purpose and its exhausting on a motorway so I just don't ever use it. The problem is Tesla owners dont complain enough. Pretty much every damn YT Tesla video is some kid making big bucks screaming about how wonderful Teslas are. Even this nonsense they gloss over it. All I ask is that Tesla allow me to rest my hand on the wheel, just as I would with any car driving on a Motorway. I definitely should not be forced to grip and move the wheel around every 20 seconds or so. But I have to because this is what they demand for FSD drivers. If more of us complained and make it very public Tesla would have to do something. They ride a constant wave of can do no wrong and that means we get shitty deals from Tesla.

That will kill you or others one day. Car doesnt react on static objects and 3 days after i got "Vision" in mine it tried to ram an oncomming truck when it was 10 meters in front of me.
Damn. That’s insane. I never stop paying attention to the road because I still don’t trust “vision” or anything other than my eyes for that matter. So I just use it avoid the constant nagging from the system.

Duh, I am glad Tesla has a way so you can not fool the system easily. They want you to be alert and not reading a newspaper or something dumb. All Auto Pilot is a glorified cruise control where it still needs periodic hand control. Even FSD you have to do the same thing. i guess use at your own risk, even if it does work good. Watch out for Phantom braking with this device on and if drivers are behind you.

Where do i buy that ?
The best way to do this is to put steering on comfort mode, and only put the weight on when you activate autopilot.
It works every single time
Works great on my Camry with similar function. I used an opened leatherman multitool as a counterweight and never asks for input .
when I can bye that please ?
you basically just needed more weight, the overhang creates a larger lever force downwards= heavier weight.
