    Regular Autopilot will not stop at intersections or follow traffic signs. It should not be relied upon for anything other than highway driving. Treat it like extended cruise control.
    The Enhanced Autopilot is a partial FSD that works only on highway driving.
    FSD works in all driving settings, but is not perfect yet for street driving.
    Thanks for your demonstrations.

      Is there any feature difference between FSD and EAP while driving on highway with navigate on autopilot on?
      Or does it behave exactly the same?

    • @sleepkeeper42069
      @sleepkeeper42069 Год назад

      @@Trust_but_Verify On the highway, I believe it is exactly the same. I have FSD on one vehicle, and regular AP on a new 2023 M3 Standard Range RWD. Mostly using the M3 for around town and commute to work, so I don't think I'll need to spend $15k on FSD. My other car with FSD is our roadtrip car, and wouldn't want to travel without it!!

( Evidently I was only in Auto Steer/Auto Pilot, while thinking it was FSD.) Until I found your video. You explained how the double click twice was needed to engage FSD. The instruction they sent me to engage FSD was very unclear on that issue. Tesla Manual did not mention blue lines on screen would indicate FSD was engaged, as your video showed. Thanks.

    Great video. Seems like the second tier isn’t as valuable as the first and third. The first, being free, does a decent enough job of navigating a single lane on the highway, while the second tier does about the same on the highway but just changes lanes for you for $6,000. The FSD appears to be the real deal but with a very hefty price tag.

    Great vid, thx. I am driving the model 3 2023 for almost a year now. I have enhanced autopilot (EAP) installed. There is still no update for self parking and smart summon in Europe (Netherlands). This version relies on Tesla Vision so has no radar sensors. With heavy rain the cameras get blocked or give a muddy view. Before parking, I then have to get out and clean the camera. Does not happen very often though. FSD is according to my experience still very far away because of the frequent gost breaking. When in a new environment and there are cars close behind I usually switch of EAP. Gost breaking occurs usually at the same location (MAX is switched back to a lower km/h for no visible reason).
    Don't misunderstand me, this is a great car that drives very comfortable. But there are quirks......

    • @JustFrugalMe
      @JustFrugalMe  Год назад

      Absolutely, the Tesla Model 3 2023 with Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) has some incredible features, but it seems like there are still a few challenges, especially in terms of the self-parking and smart summon updates in Europe. The reliance on Tesla Vision without radar sensors does have its limitations, especially in heavy rain affecting the camera view. The intermittent ghost braking can indeed be unsettling, especially in new environments or when cars are close behind. It's great to hear that despite these quirks, the driving experience remains comfortable overall.

    Great video - easy to understand and explained some important features. It looks like Autopilot (AP) and Enhanced AP (EAP) were activated while driving (single pull-down of 'shifter' for AP and a double pull-down for EAP (for a total of 3 pull-downs)). However, you activated the FSD function while at a stand still also using the double pull-down process. Can FSD be activated while you're already on the road driving? If so, how is this accomplished if EAP was activated with the double pull-down function of the shifter?

    Planing on buying either a 2023 M3 (used with 11k miles on it) with enhanced autopilot for $2k less than a new 2024 MY (both SR). one big difference is the M3 will have LFP batteries as against the NCM on the MY.
    the LFP coupled with enhanced autopilot is making me lean towards the M3 but i think the MY 2024 has better build quality (both are from Fremont, CA factory unfortunately. However, since the MY's battery is supposedly software locked (~20%), the charging to 100% (if needed) is not really the ACTUAL 100% (but mostly 80%). which essentially means charging it daily to 80% will preserve the battery even more.
    Confusion is an understatement. :(

If you aren’t sure what you have, just take a look at the various cameras around the vehicle and check and see if they have a red reflective nature in the lens. If they do, they are the latest variation of cameras that Tesla offers and they aren’t trained the same yet as the previous generation Hardware 3.0 cameras. I couldn't pay 6k for the features offered. Let alone 15k for something cant be transferred to another tesla if I sell or wreck it.
    Now, I will prolly pay 200 a month to play with it, thats for sure.

    Thinking of buying tesla ,fsd model3 or stock model s (or something else with that model3 fsd money). Can u suggest me which one ? Btw subbed ❤

    • @JustFrugalMe
      @JustFrugalMe  Год назад +1

      I would suggest to get the FSD subscription versus paying for it up front. If you pay the 15k it is not transferable (for now) if you would sale the car. Then if you decide you don’t want it anymore you can just cancel it. As far as the car, each car has a different “feel” I would recommend setting up test drives (they’re free).

    That isn’t parallel parking that is Bay parking. Parallel parking is what you do on a road where cars are parked on the kerb and you reverse into that space.

    All i can say is, I would just stick with only Basic Auto Pilot. It is free and does what I only need for driving. It is just one small step up from normal cruise control. The other modes are just a waste of allot of money to me.
    But thanks for the great video and great explanations.

    There is no difference because neither work when you live outside of North America. At best it’s adaptive cruise with lane assist…. when it isn’t panicking over shadows, hills, bends, trees, nothing whatsoever….

    Excellent video but without regard to the technical abilities of the different modes, Elon is smoking way more than MJ!
    FSD is a $12,000 option (as of 10/2023) and myth that will get you killed and Enhanced Auto Pilot is $6000.00 option that offers little more than turn signal lane change.
    I am a 2023 Tesla Model Y owner and I LOVE my car but these fees for this tech that Tesla is trying to sell is the definition of utter stupidity! FSD, should it EVER be viable might be worth $5K. The Enhanced Auto Pilot should be standard equipment. Even with the standard AP in my 2023 AP, I ‘ve had phantom braking on multiple occasions. This tech isn’t ready for prime time.

    • @JustFrugalMe
      @JustFrugalMe  Год назад

      Agree, Enhanced Auto Pilot should definitely be standard
