- The other shoe dropped -- or, more accurately, was thrown hard against the floor -- on Thursday when San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu made good on his threat to bring suit against the city of Oakland over plans to change the name of its airport.

Fewer people want to fly into OAK. So, instead of working to fix the city, they decide to change the name. Why not just change the name of the city altogether? Change "Oakland" to "San Francisco East Bay With No Crimes, We Swear."
Fewer airline carriers fly into OAK. United Airlines and American Airlines do not have any flights to/from OAK at all.
Why not clean up the rampant crime in East Oakland
Imagine being an international traveler and you end up in Oakland instead of SF.
SFO is further from SF than OAK
We want to highlight Oakland by not associating the city with the name Oakland. 🤡🤡🤡
What a STUPID idea -- changing Oakland's name into something confusing. How about if Oakland focuses on fixing Oakland?
Democrat Utopia…. They messed Up Oakland and now they wanna change the Name…. Lol
Dystopia you mean
To.. an even more liberal city's name
“Golden State Warzone” could satisfy all three: Oaklandish desire to disassociate from Otown, SFC&C greed, and the public’s need for truth in labeling.
"The Warriors-Athletics-Raiders Departure Field"
I swear since moving to Cali, I havent seen one problem actually being fixed in the past 5 years. Which is why Im leaving.....
See ya later transplant ... Go move to the next "fad" city/state ... California has enough transplants, we don't need more
Right it has nothing to do with the majority of real reasons which is you're too poor this isnt a flight we're not at the airport no one gives a shit about your departure bye loser
So why don't you call it, oakland bay area international airport? Why put SF? 🤦♀️
City attorney needs to go after the drug dealers.
Maybe clean up ur city so you don’t have to change the name
I can’t wait to visit my favorite tiger again at the San Francisco Bay Zoo (of Oakland)
😂🤣
For complete transparency aka "truth in labeling", the name should be updated to:: "San Francisco Bay Gangland International Airport". The statistics of travelers; while staying in any hotel within 10 miles of Oakland International Airport in it's East Oakland location, and then becoming the victim of the rampant crime there in East Oakland, is off the charts.
LMAO there is so much more sht to actually worry about😭😭😭
How 'bout Alameda-San Leandro International?
Good!
Can Oakland do anything, right😂
aint that rich like the own “SF bay”.
News Flash: The City of Oakland countersues everyone who uses 'oak' because that's part of Oakland's name!
Lame.
0:52 She looks like former SF City Attorney Louise Renne.
Wondered why comedy shows are not popular these days!
SF or Oakland criminas are running wild
Bay Area Airport
Irony here… SFO is not in SF city or county! It’s a business run by SFC&C, on land they own some and lease some. Profits to them to spend on other projects, plus tax exempt so we all subsidize this business enterprise.
It's not a location issue. It's a trademark issue.
_The City owns U.S. federal trademark registrations for the marks “San Francisco International Airport” (Reg. No. 4,189,396) and the International Air Transport Association assigned airport code SFO together with SFO's Design Registration (Reg. No. 3,329,780). The City has held these registrations for such a long time that they have become ncontestable under federal law. That means they constitute conclusive evidence of the validity of the marks as well as the City’s exclusive rights to use the marks. Indeed, there is and only ever has been one airport in the United States that uses “San Francisco” in its name._ --San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu
Poopy farty doodoo land
Then Santa Clara needs to sue San Fransisco for the 49ers still having San Fransisco in their name when the stadium is clearly in Santa Clara/Santa Clara County. They're stealing flights from San Jose Airport....
Little know fact ...the City of San Francisco actually owns the name SF 49ers. All comes down to merchandising money...that's why there has been no name change. 🤷♂️
