"This is the final-"
Oh Tom, what a way to go.
Yeah. It worked well with the countdown.
(You're welcome.)
But what was the last question? :C
+
+
+
7:00 tom goes through the 5 stages of grief in one second
I didn't get the question..🤔
@@UserUnknown07 the emoji flags are two english letters that combine to make up a flag emoji, so he could have just used one keyboard to type the english letter combinations, for example :US:
@@F1nicky But wasn't the point that you would actually have a button for each emoji?
@@psilorder86 there aren't enough commands on a regular keyboard for the hundreds of emojis, so no. There's was a regular keyboard on his emoji keyboard btw
@@kylemorrison6162 There isn't enough commands on a regular keyboard for the hundreds of emojis so no the point of his emoji-keyboard wasn't to have enough keys for each emoji?
Because that is what i was asking. Wasn't the point of using all those keyboards that each emoji would have its own key?
what is red? baby dont shirt me
TheMissingnumber HAHA good one mate!
don’t shirt me
@@kazbrekker16 nae moar
Don't shirt me

"A hot dog is a long burger", -Matt Gray
That logic though
Abou El-Ela
He‘s got a point, you know!
No no, he's got a point
The hot-dogs that are cut length-wise are sandwiches. The ones with a hole to fit the sausage are not.
It's amazing to watch someone have those Eureka moments where they figured out they did something extremely stupid.
Tbf, at some point you may as well just start typing in Unicode escape sequences, so I still think it's better that Tom made his Emoji keyboard to support all flags.
@@neolexiousneolexian6079 Exactly. Letters would be lame. P
Watching Tom's slow stutter-stop realization about the emoji flags thing is hilarious
7:00
Denial: "Bec-..." * croak*
Anger: "THAT'S A REALLY GOOD QUESTION!!"
Bartering: "OOOHhhh Come On!"
Depression: *pauses as he looks at his phone*
Acceptance: "Um..."
So this episode is filmed on a Parker bench?
Good question, mate!
Datenegassie This comment doesn't have the praise it deserves
Datenegassie I'm so proud that I get that reference.
Wow that's great
I'm gonna guess Matt Parker reference?
10:35 - says the man who ran for Parliament as a pirate.
Well, he's not senile, of course he knows it happened
tech diff on ice that is a thing i would watch. with megaphones, and pirouettes giving extra points.
+Josh Barrett you know a person is a nerd if he/she has the glider as his/her profile pic... or knows what it is and writes a comment about it. s#!t
+Sinom I'm thinking of changing it. The glider is a cool pattern, but it's often associated with ESR. And he's not somebody I want to be associated with.
It will be a mess, with all the mystery biscuit-bits on the ice.
No, no it wouldn't.
+joelproko Well it wouldn't actually NEED to be there, it would just have to be IMPLIED to be there.
I'm sorry, Matt, hotdogs are actually a type of taco.
but a taco is just a folded open face sandwich...
GildedBear
THAT'S A LIE!
But an open face sandwich is just an unwrapped pita....
And also not actually a sandwich.
... dammit... i was really hoping people would keep extending that.... :(
I'm very glad that rainbow Comic Sans made it into a running gag.
Tom is just too good for this world. Doesn't drink, doesn't do caffeine, isn't very sweary, funny, smart, good grief. Does he accept marriage proposals by email?
Try it
And he has morals and is quite funny.
I believe that's exactly how he accepts proposals
I mean he mentioned going to the pub in his vids
@@Bakon he drink tap water. He goes to the pub but doesn't consume any alcohol just plain old tap water 😆
I'm going to believe that you actually had 30 seconds left but cut it off early just to annoy the viewers.
+
Could be, but I don't think so, as the timer actually doesn't start at 14:00.00.
the point where they check and say 3 minutes, is actually closer to 2 and a half minutes.
InShortSight :3 That's because the camera rounds it to the nearest integer, I think.
But where he said "7 minutes on the clock" it was exactly 7 minutes left. I guess it will remain a mystery.
I figure tech diff on ice would just be them sitting around a table in the middle of an ice rink or a frozen lake
I realy do hope one day they explain the "Never happened" gag
Lena MacKay Late answer, but Chris has removed most of the information on him from the internet tied into Tech Dif, aside from the videos themselves.
@@seanboyd2898 ohhh for example?
I love your dynamic on the "what is red?" question. looks almost choreographed...
“Go to sleep when you’re supposed to sleep,”
Me at 6:45am: Heh, HEH *HEH*
3:34 here
7:04 you can _see_ Tom having a mental breakdown/revelation
"There is 14 minutes..." Tom, you're the LAST person on earth I'd expect to make that mistake.
What mistake? "There" is singular.
"is" 14 minutes, rather than "are" 14 minutes, as there is more than one minute remaining
It should be "There are" as "minutes" is plural.
"There is one minute"
"There are two minutes"
+, as I can't Like comments on mobile
Rushil U it would be "There are cups of water" as "cups" is plural.
rainbow comic sans
Just to upset the Internet.
rainbow comic sans
*RAINBOW COMIC SANS*
Rainbow comic sans - good pub name
I know from the frozen lake in Estonia video that it was Matt who put that in.
OMG please do Milton Keynes Pacman again! Sounds great!
When Tom mention being recognized in Berlin, I hoped he was going to mention when he met me, but alas. I came up to him at the Topography of Terror, and I remember him mentioning something along the lines of how inappropriate a place it was to meet a fan. I really wish I had met him someplace else to get to have a chance to speak longer with him. Also, I don't know why but he looks older in person. I guess the camera really does take years off.
"Europe" means "Europe", "The European Union" is a different thing.
Exactly. Europe is a continent.
A pretty BS continent though geographically.
plus it also requires on what you mean by continent in terms of land Africa, Asia and Europe should be a single continent
***** Continents are BS, geographically speaking!
Continents may not be directly tied to anything else, but that's why they're there. They define regions of the globe that are easy for humans to reference.
14 minutes of 'film' remaining? What is this 2005?
It's Uranus
Memory card storage. Film just sounds nicer

WHAT IS WITH THESE PLUSSES!
I expected to find a buttload of comments about your Uranus in the comment section, but I couldn't find any comments about Uranus no matter how deep in I went. I guess Uranus ain't that popular anymore...
Sometimes, you have to just find a way to relax and go deep in when talking about Uranus.
yeah, I was surprised too! I'm a big fan of uranus
Did you know Uranus can become 4.7 thousand degrees Celsius hot?
I had a terrible revelation on this channel: Matt is always on the left, and Tom always on the right. Everywhere without exception. That's called dedication.
Except for the handful of videos shot the day Tom wore a suit: Fear, One Year of the Park Bench, and at least one more that I'm not remembering the name of...
11:19
good news, past Matt!
you are now significantly more comfortable on a skateboard. That's a start/step...
Loving the subtle "You've out gayed me Barrowman!" reference
Declan Kelleher when was that?
When Tom said "You've out famed me Gray!!!"
Simple: The ability to grant superpowers.
Permanently?
I hope the story of Guy Bruh-nun is long and funny enough to guarrant a park bench episode.
I enjoyed Tom being ‘corrected’ by Matt from ‘is’ to ‘are’ and then changing the sentence to make ‘is’ correct
The best superpower (of the common one) by far is controlling time... Is just too overpowered
I am just going to rewind time to stop you from saying that...
Probability manipulation. You could do anything you want including control time with it.
-Homura Akemi-
You really could cheat the "for five days" requirement with that power of yours, well played my friend, well played!
I would have said the ability to save and load the world like in a game - I could do litterally everything without having to endure the punischment (and without causing people trouble) and the stuff I really enjoy I could just do over and over and over again ;D
You read the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, did you not?
But nontheless, this is an amazing idea!
I’d call your pub “mystery biscuits”.
I lvoe this channel so much!! Watching Matt and Tom interact just makes me so happy - not hard to see why they're best friends.
Never do caffeine? I think it's a bit too late for that...
You can never undo never.
You can start removing it from your diet. Another option to help wake up is do some stretches, quick light exercise (like jog in place for a minute or a couple sit ups or push ups) or anything in general that gets your heartrate up a bit and that blood flowing without exhausting you
You can stop using it. You'll get a week of pounding headaches and horrible moods as the withdrawal symptoms kick in, but after a week or so you're done.
@@rjfaber1991 thanks, will sure try
13:45 “what is- what is red?”
*matt and tom look at each other*
*they both point at tom’s shirt*
Pub Name: Bibations Needed
I was thinking more like Libations Needed
I was hoping he would say something like "The Liver Difficulties"
+Jossie Mime +
Libations meaded!
Tom, behind the bar: "In front of me is a selection of four dozen beers..."
(Patrons glare at him)
Tom: "...and these folks can't see it."
Well the obscure super powers prompted me to find the name for the obscure super power I'd have after years of having to explain it to people and not being able to call it anything: Phytokinesis. What an odd relief it is to know that. (I'd also hazard that I've now got to tell people I'd be a Foggy Swamp plant bender if they ask me about Avatar.)
Loved the questions from Gary!!
"Get out of this couch!"
-Tom Scott, ca. 2016
Love this format!
If you were to do TechDif: On Ice, you could do it on the Rideau Canal, a manmade waterway that runs through Ottawa. It has more than enough length so that you could all move as a group down it for a full show's length of take with no turning around or revisiting the same place (or a very minimal amount of these things).
That was incredibly good to watch. I hope you do another one soon. 😁
Question for another Park Bench possibly.... How does Tom structure his "Things You Might Not Know Videos" and how does he learn his lines in such large quantities??
Damn, I missed this. But it definitely is amazing. You guys are always brilliant.
4:29 Awww thanks, Norway would be happy to have you!
Best Q&A I've ever seen.
all QnAs should be like this!
That 2/5 jingle sounded really good!
As someone from Norway I can't think of any higher praise than you'd just given my country. Hope to see you wave your flag on sunday; and it doesn't have to be the Norwegian flag!
With a little bit of photoshopping you can turn his t-shirt into a Norwegian flag. 🇧🇻
Can your camera really count 14 minutes? (reminds me the video about toasters)
This was freaking perfect cut
I'm from Milton Keynes, so it makes me super happy you've acknowledged it
4:30 Follow-up question, because Norway is long: Which part of Norway? Coastal or in-land? If the former, north or south of the Arctic Circle?
Somewhat amazed to watch this and see so many familiar names asking questions :p
Disappointed we're yet to see Tech Dif : Covered in Bees! (or more podcast techdif...the only one ive ever laughed out loud over)
Pineapple+pizza=FTW.
10:00
Incorrect, a hotdog is a type of taco.
(Softly) don’t
This was great! You must do it again!
that went so well I want another time constrained comfy sofa/park bench
my super power for five days would be time stopping so i could wear a watch and stop time and prolong my time with the power
vaultboy 124 if you stop time you'll go blind tho
THE FINAL WHAT!??!?!?!?
Countdown.
Countdown. (Doo-doo-doo--doo.)

countertony were leaving together...
do more of this kind of video!
WHAT WAS THE FINAL QUESTION I NEED TO KNOW
I really enjoyed this. Can you do another one sometime?
Tech diff on ice has to be a spectator sport that we can come and skate with you
Woo! New Matt and Tom!
11:44 that harmony was fine, just a 7th
Fun format!
5:52 The ability to fill any container with any conceivable fluid, whether physically possible or not.
Basically, you can get every superpower without actually breaking the 'you can't have any superpower' rule.
Imagine them going back through these questions again. The RUclips fame one might have a different answer now.
DAMMIT! YOU'VE OUT-FAMED ME GRAY! 3:24
What did Matt say?!
"Are you gonna learn how to fly?"
Thank you :)
So close to a perfect ending. Awesome video
the most British park bench-ish ever, love it
9:21 "It's this one." *Matt looks around for it*
2:43 The never before seen pony tail tom scott
"A hot dog's a long burger" -- Matt Gray
The abyss gazes also into Tom
Pretty certain if you blur the kids out, or even just their faces, you're good to go without release forms. There are some things that can't be controlled, and for those, there's editing.
would you consider doing battle of the beer at the live show
All smashups work Tom.
I would really love to meet you guys
'...or modaffinil, but I don't recommend it'...heh, that's the only thing keeping me awake for more that an hour a day...I just couldn't help but laugh at that one. Yay sleep disorders.
13 Minutes and 56 Seconds, 47 Questions
Having keys for the separate flags is impractical only if you know the abbreviations for each flag. I would argue that although it took more time to have keys for each flag, in the end the whole keyboard was easier to use.
I don't know about Milton Keynes, but are they saying there's a part of the road where if you drive through it you teleport to the other side of it?
7:04 Tom is left speechless.
On a scale from 1 to 10, what's your favourite colour of the alphabet?

10:31 - What about when you fell through the ice in Estonia?
Can someone explain question at 7:00? I feel like I understand the FR would be France, or CH for china but dont understand the question
" I much prefer Uranus". ahahah had me in stitches.
The timer is making me anxious
7:56 eyyy, it's everybody's favourite Gary Brannan: Gary Brannan!
Just a tip, favourite all of the tweets you use for easy reference in post!
I've never heard anyone say Nietzsche is a bad philosopher
thank you i was looking for someone commenting that ikr i love nietzsche
His work ended up being co-opted by the Nazis (his sister didn't help), so Nietzsche has ended up having a very negative reputation throughout a lot of the world now.
Watch Crendor's video about the top ten park benches in London. It would've been really funny if you were sitting on them.
7:00 I love this question.
TechnDiff on ice: With 4 zamboni's?
