Thank you so much for sharing. I also saw the video where the whole latch mechanism was removed and was concerned I would not be able to to fix it. I cleaned and lubed the latches and opened from them inside and got both my doors to work, yay!! Much love, nameste
I love it! So glad I could help. I did see the videos on the whole mechanism being removed...I was really hoping mine would just be a good cleaning and lubing problem. Thank goodness it was. We lovingly refer to the van as Big Tow, and he has taken us on many a gravel road trips. The door just gummed up. Lol It is just a matter of preventative maintenance I took for granted :D
Just bought my transit and the side cargo door is driving me nuts to figure out how to open the door, so will try this later today - very easy to follow thankyou.
Hello. Thank you for being so thorough and detailed in your video!! I have a Transit and the sliding door will release when the handle is pulled but wont "POP" open to make the sliding easy. You have to pull out really hard before you can slide it back. Think your solution will help based on my symptoms? Really dont want to take it to the dealer!! lol
Hello! That is the way ours started out and eventually quit sliding open all together. I didn't want to take to the dealer either. It doesn't take long to clean up the door, so it would be just a little time invested just to make sure. Hopefully it will fix your slider too.

I cannot remember what brand I used, but it was a dry silicone so that it does not attract more dust and debris. I hope it works for you 😁
