@@PrezDCS Wrong. In DCS we currently do not have HPRF active stage or Husky. But we have MPRF active stage, we call that stage Pitbull. So in short, if you shoot the missile way out, 1st of all it's guided by mother aircraft's radar, then as some point (cca 10-15nm out) it switches to it's own radar and it should go into HPRF (currently not yet implemented), and then at cca 4-8nm out it switches to HPRF.
@@MitjaBonca You misunderstand. I am not talking about the active stages. I’m talking specifically about the AIM-120s PRF usage. It is HPRF only right now, not MPRF. Medium Pulse Repetition Frequency is NOT currently modeled on the 120.
@@MitjaBonca He's just wrong, dude. It should be stated the opposite. The missile behaves as if the M-pole is the only mode, but it is in fact in HPRF otherwise known as "Husky" as he says. Ask literally anyone who knows anything about how the missiles function in DCS and they will tell you what I have told you here. Also, don't understand why you decided to pick this back up over a month later lmao
I don''t think so. They've been content with modelling the AMRAAM as going single-state active since forever. There are other instances in the F-16 where there would already be Husky symbology but they are consistently skipping over it. Pity though since there is some pro/contra-strategy in leaving an AMRAAM either in Cheapshot / Husky or Pitbull.
What does this mean under the Dynamic Missile Range Cue: _ T4 4 I see this changing on the right side in Dogfight Mode when I'm locking someone up with the FCR. I'm assuming it's seconds. I locked a target with an AIM-9P5 coming towards me. Also their is a circle over the target in the middle that has 'II' above it and a line that rotates counter clockwise. Thanks!
Finally welcome to the club. I have plenty of videos on it. Been there got the shirt. BMS manual ehh. Oh in DCS the pitbull is A hmm well that is something I am not used to.
so that tiny circle at the top of the dynamic launch zone in the video used to be the pitbull range of the missile before this update. Since it;s constanly at the top of the DLZ in this video, does that mean this circle now represents husky?
Small correction, I think you explained to incorrectly. It's at 1:21, M-pole. What 17M means is that the missile with go MPRP in 17 miles from now, not at 17milles to the target as you said. Based on the current data from the HUD, the missile will go MPRF at 8 miles to the target (25.3 - 17 = 8.3nm).
Great video! I have a small question, looks like the symbiology on missile launch was 17-M as you stated, so at 17 nm the missile will go pitbull, and indeed when you were at 17 nm from target the symbiology changed to 17-F which means the missile went pitbull. However if you take the closure rate, you could assume that the distance should be lower, no? or is that number calculated on launch parameters (it assumes nothing is changing in regards to your and the bandit flight vector)
thats assuming there is a closure rate. if you crank, and the target turns cold, there might be an increase in separation and therefore a higher F pole
I've been Flying BHS for aaboout 5 years. My question to you is where do I insert my Control inputs? ( I have a cougar throttle and Real Simulator Stick) Thanks, Rhino
I had just typed "huh, wonder what M/F pole for the viper is" in my dcs group discord and ping - Tricker posts a video about M/F pole, thank you sir!
Fast and simple representation. I would also like to see someday that we get HPRF function for the AMRAAM missile.
The AIM-120 is always in HPRF when it goes active. It's MPRF that isn't modeled on the missile.

Maybe we will actually get MPRF modeled on the missile soon if they spent the time to add this to the symbology. Two weeks(tm)?
