As for the anticheating comments. It's not cheating if you aren't playing online. In many ways playing online is in itself cheating...if you say you never got a rush, followed a bot around for gear/exp or even traded for an item that you couldn't find yourself, then you shouldn't really say that anything anyone does at all on single player is cheating. If you mean something more along the lines of it going against the spirit of the game so to speak, well then good luck telling someone else how to play their own game in single player. gl
You don't even need to copy and paste, by the way. Look for your charactername.D2s and set it to read only. Your stash can still be affected, but you can keep doing the quest. You then use the shared stash, quit, rejoin. Just don't forget to remove the read-only flag when you're done.
@@jibrealoudia1957 Just to the main menu. As long as you've set only the charactername.D2s file to read-only, it won't be allowed to overwrite it, and wont save. However it will be allowed to update the shared stash since you aren't setting that to read-only.
An easier way to reset the char file might be to open a new game on the char before you close the previous one and rewrite the save that way. Provided it doesn't rewrite the previous shared stash if u know what I mean. That is how I retrieve my Lk map when i accidentally click nightmare halfway through the runs.
If you don't want to mess with save files because it kind of opens the door to more kinds of cheating, there's another way. Create another copy of your shortcut to PlugY.exe, go to properties and add " -act5" at the end of the shortcut Target without quotes. What this does is when you create a new character, it will make it start in act 5 at level 33. Then you can equip some gear and finish the socket quest, use it, remove the gear, and delete the character and repeat. It can be fun to build gear for this character to make it more efficient or just rush yourself with 2 games running. These parameters you add to the shortcut like -act5 work with the base game as well so they are a part of D2. Additionally, you can create another shortcut with the " -nosave" parameter, this allows you to test things out, like how many sockets you would get from the quest, see if you're capable for ubers yet, die on hardcore and keep your character. Of course, anything you do will not be saved, including putting items in your plugy stash. Just be very careful if you die on hardcore that you use the correct shortcut with the -nosave.
I don't think you can get this to work with D2SE, and copying of the save files is a little bit more tedious than just using a Hero Editor to add sockets to an item keeping in mind not to abuse that feature by putting more sockets than what you are supposed to onto Uniques etc... know the game mechanics. It really just depends on how much someone wants to go out of their way to make their lives easier. Someone should make a mod for the game that exclusively changes the SoJ socket recipe to a much cheaper recipe viable for most players, or just include a socket mechanic into PlugY. Seriously... I'm willing to bet more than 50% of the player base would rather have this mechanics than not have it.
Wait doesn't the last tip basically mean we can copy anything? I mean in under an hour we can technically create a zod rune from constantly duplicating our highest rune, evolving it then duplicating that by moving those to our shared and reloading?
This is a followup after testing it, yea this extremely useful. I recommend duplicating any ethernal items you find before socketing them or using them. This way you can keep using ethernal whenever and switching out spares if they break. If you duplicate before socketting you can have copies of the same ethernal item but with different socket numbers. Also no more crossing your fingers hoping to get the right socket number, just keep redoing until you get it. Infinite crafting, runes and perfect gems. That last tip truly is broken for single player
For anyone just now seeing this video, the only ones who would have an issue with shared stash filled with tons of items that loading takes a bit longer is if your computer is a potato and severely outdated so don't worry. I've had up to 50 pages filled with items and It maybe takes a couple seconds longer at most. For the /p 8 command you just have to look for NBPlayersbydefault in the ini file and set it to 8 or however many players you want to simulate then never have to worry about it again. I guess the uploader didn't know that at the time but I know it was that way when I used plugy back in 2017. It's a lot less tedious than spamming the command. Another less tedious way for sockets is to just use hero editor. You can just reset the quest that way but if you're going to do that then might as well just use the editor to socket the item instead. Not saying the video was horrible just throwing out some less tedious methods.
I was going to show users the hero editor method, however for simplicity sake I try to keep my videos as simple as possible. Hero editor allows a wide range of customization, my tip was for users who mostly play legit. 👊✌

Is there a way to recover a character that disappears on plugY? My file is backed up but I found some good items since the last time I backed up the file and would prefer to keep those items
Free socket quest is to make a new char with "-act5" command line and get fresh 33 lvl amazon. Move to the boss for 2 mins. Kill it and get your free socket quest. With plugy you can socket items from shared stash.

It takes longer to load into the game if your personal or shared stash is huge. If you move your shared stash onto the personal stash of a mule character, it reduces loading times.

A few years back on the laptop i lost i was duping and it takes allll the fun out of drops. trust me. it will ruin your gaming experience. I had a jah rune drop once and didnt even pick it up. stuff like that. I find an um rune these days on this new account and lose my mind so. ya. just a heads up

Include all the features, and let us decide which ones we do and do not want to use. The abilities to socket items should literally be implemented into PlugY itself with the ability to turn that feature off in the config file for players that don't want to use it.

If you can slow down, take the time to explain more clearly, some example will be more useful (for a bigger audience) than now. What you do is, when you have diablo walking. You open the seal to the left (or the seal that have the easiest for you to kill mobs). Then you run away, open all other seals and kill their "minibosses". Then you go back to the first seal (all seals should be open now), you kill that miniboss and pooof uberdiablo dies too.
Can't get the socket quest trick to work. Each time I re enter plugy the shield that I socketed is still in my characters stash without sockets instead of the shared stash... I'm feeling pretty dumb LOL
Check over your character files in your SC file. You're probably copying over the shared stash save as well. To get this trick to work only copy the files that start with your character name.

I do a lot of stuff,with it. I have a crafting set up wich let me craft 12casyer ammy,100 lvl99 gc and rerol rare diadem 100times. Judge me if you want,it’s SP I do whatever I want to haha

Opens the door? It's a flood gate. I started with 1 self found, 1k+ lk runs, to find 1 sur rune.... lets just say I got everrrrrything I need now...
