  • "We're gonna do a song that you never heard before..." All-time legend DJ Aladdin (Alphonso Henderson) smokes the decks at the 1989 DMC World Eliminations, earning the #2 seed going into the Finals the following evening, where Mr. Henderson again finished runner-up to the UK champion and crowd favorite, Cutmaster Swift.

      @@gaffle-411 - CLEAN? excuse me? hahahaha!!! C. Swift is the sloppiest Dj i've ever seen. Didn't you see how he accidentaly dragged the needle and tonearm across the whole record when trying to get up on a chair? Almost blew the speakers so he just said forget it. All kinds of mistakes. DJ ALADDIN was wayyyy more entertaining and needle never skipped ONE TIME during the evening final battle OR US battle. The real reason Cash Money didnt want to defend his title is because he wanted to judge and help cheat Aladdin out to prevent Compton form being a first time world champ. NY and Philly were angry for Aladdin sneaking in as a NY qualifier, and claiming to whip NY. Otherwise he wouldve never made it as a US champion or world. They had to put a stop to that, and they did, but everyone still knows Aladdin was the real 1989 DMC WORLD CHAMPION aka Joe Cooley's son (nickname only).

    • @MichaelShum
      @MichaelShum  7 лет назад +8

      So there were no single competitors with the exceptions of Danielle Mondello, DJ Shahin, Sparra, 1210 Jazz, and even DJ Rectangle during that time? And how about 1996 and 1997 eliminations? I would love to see those two with finding out that there were over 30 countries representing.

    • @MichaelShum
      @MichaelShum  7 лет назад +1

      Well, in '92, Knud, Ta-Shi and Tommy all made it to the Final as solo DJs. Their Elimination and Final sets were essentially identical.

      Great! I would also like to see DJ Shahin's 1992 set as well! Shahin was indeed a masterpiece when he put the turntables on fire in 1993-94. I have almost every World Final from 1987 to 1998. The only two that I don't have are 1988 and 1991, although I did see the 1991 World Finals here on RUclips. Come to think of it, my favorite DJ in that competition is DJ Trip, because in my opinion he does indeed have the fastest hands on the decks. I hope you can post the 1996 and the 1997 World Eliminations soon. I would love to see the countries of Lebanon, Luxembourg, Egypt, Thailand, and even Russia go at it. And plus I would like to see Italy's DJ Nike's Elininations set, too.

      Cutmaster swift was needle dropping in the 1988 & 1989 Uk finals & also the 1988 New music seminar.
