What's great about Skillet is the fact that they're an inspirational band. While all the other "rock classification" bands are a depressed, tear yourself down kind of band. They're here to build us up. Thank you Skillet.

I can't believe that "Rise" is over 8 years old now. This was their most recent album when I found this band after listening to 'Yours to Hold' off of "Comatose".

What I love about this music video is that it shows that everyone struggles. Adults, children, parents, teenagers, students. Not one group has it easy. But it shows that as long as you keep on going and keep on living, everything will turn out for the better
Speaking as one of the worst Christians in the world, I wish more people would spread their message as effectively as Skillet does, maybe I wouldn't have been as big a backslider as I have been. I've had pierced ears and tattoos since I was a teen (I'm going on 55 in May) and even though I had the desire to go to church people looked down on me and treated me like a leper when I went. Even the preachers had little time for my wife and I. I've grown since then and have come to realize that it's what YOU make of your worship experience, not how you are treated by other so called "Christians". Keep up the awesome work Skillet, you have a couple fans in my family.

Thank you so much Skillet for pulling me out of depression. I used to be very depressed and it was hard,now you make it so easy! I love you guys so much! This song helps me everyday I listen to it everyday to remind myself not to go back into the darkness. Again thank you for everything who've done for me. Nine years later and this song feels more relevant than ever.
Skillet literally drove me back to God...I've tried to lost God several times, and for the last time, it seemed like i managed to...but then i found one of your musics, while browsing YT for some sick rock. SInce i'm listening to your music, in stead of Slipknot(no offense to their fans, they make good music too), i feel much happier, i feel fulfilled with God's love, and somehow i really feel that i love you...not just like saying it, but literally, i DO love you, dear Skillet. I know i barely have chance of you reading this, even less chance to get a reply from you, but if you see this comment, i want you to know, you have just changed another life, and i feel so happy for finding you. I will pray for you whenever i can, not cuz you need it, you are clearly blessed, but cuz you ALL deserve it :)

Speaking from experience as someone who suffers from depression and anxiety and was bullied in high school, I cried. Music like this is beautiful and helps me through my darkest moments. I'm an atheist, but I still appreciate the uplifting message of this song.

I had this song stuck in my head all day. Turns out one of my friends needed to hear it.
This song has given me a bit of peace of mind. With all the hatred going on in the country and the world, i feel suppressed in my own feelings. But the song helps me focus to cut through pass those feelings and remember i have my own voice. They can try to silence me, but they won't force me to change who i am.
We need this song right now in our country! God bless us all as a nation. May God still find grace and mercy on us.
From 2nd to 5th grade I had a class teacher who bullied me. She was telling me things like I'm an idiot, dickhead and a little moron. Other people stopped to talk to me, started stealing my things, hiding my bag somewhere in the school and telling everybody that I'm lesbian, that I'm weird and other things that aren't even true. I twice visited a psychiatrist 'cause I was sad and scared to going to school. But then I discovered Skillet and they helped me very much. That teacher is now gone. (unfortunetly next year she's gonna be teaching 3rd grade) But the main thing is that you guys were here and making this awesome music that helps not only me, but other people even with much worse problems than me. Thank you so much 😍💜

I have lost a lot of people in my short life but this song brings me to my knees. I am a young man of little stature, and it takes a lot to bring a big guy like me to my knees. I am now in states custody in Missouri and this song puts me back in time when I once lost a loved one. thank u skillet very much for a hart felt song that can bring a tough young man to his knees.

The two signifiers in the video are the sunlight and the walls.
1. The sunrise shows there is light and a solution to any problem at the end.
2. The walls show that we have been imprisoned due to our problems whether it be professional or personal. Its breaking represents that it will be okay and will be free in the end.

This has to one of my all time favorite songs by Skillet, it's true no matter what you do have a voice and God will always be there. God made a miracle happen for me and I will always thank him for that and I may be in pain and all but thanks to him and my surgeon I can be happier and do more stuff.

Things are not going well in my personal life but this song always makes me believe that there is a solution to every problem and no matter how hard everything seems at that point..it will have a good ending. I got to know about Skillet when a classmate was jamming to Awake and Alive in my university and the band has now become one of my favourites.
