QPAS by Make Noise is a stereo filter with a cosmic character. It creates the most pleasing stereo spreads, captivating lasers, cave drops, and ethereal choirs. I'm very happy with the jams in today's video. QPAS is such an inspirational module that the jams came easily - which isn't always the case, especially when demoing filters!
Enjoy!

This is the corner of synth RUclips that I love; great musical demos that assume at least a bit of knowledge and focus on applied uses not pointless filter sweep on a simple wave type of shit
cheers man! I'm not much of a fan of filter sweeps and oscillators on oscilloscopes too, so glad to know you're enjoying it!
@@TheUnperson Recently came across a 15min video on a module that was 14min of explanation with scopes and with no sounds at all 😬😬😬
Only just caught up on this one. Love how you say a super cool filter takes up a lot of rack space while maths sits there as a dual envelope consuming more space than a chip shop frequenter blocking the chip shop door.
Haha! Every time I take maths out my rack I really miss it tho!
@@TheUnperson my small racks don’t like it. But I regularly patch it in from another case. WMD Javelin is my go to envelope in small cases though.
Goddamn, that entire dark jam sequence is completely mad. One of the best things I've heard from you yet. Really nice!
Thanks! I should really make a full track out of that jam.
So grateful for your videos. Always great compositions going on (love the beats on this one), and I learn so much from you each time. Wanted to leave something in the tip jar this time.
Thank you! When I receive such kind words and appreciation it makes it all worthwhile! ☺️
At the end when you say “how nice is this fxaid algorithm” what one is it? Too gorgeous… and another vid that straight up hits it out of the park my dude👌
Another great video! I only started getting into Eurorack about 9 months ago and one thing that has really surprised me is how much more feature packed a lot of these modules are compared to what comes built into other high end hardware synths. I have a Moog Sub 37 and a Prophet Rev 2 and while their filters sound great, there are still only controls for filter and resonance so it's hard to find interesting and unique sounds from just that. I guess what I'm saying is I think most innovation is in eurorack right now and I hope the classic synth companies start taking note and expanding some of their features
I totally agree. The eurorack world is absolutely where is innovation is, and being able to combine these innovative modules is creating really unique systems!
Awesome video with some great sounds man. I just ordered the qpas today and got delivery of Instruo CSL earlier, looking forward to shaping it with Qpas.
this sounds soooooo good!!!
Amazing video...super high quality!👏👏👏
thanks as always! :)
The dark jam was awesome dude !!! Can’t wait to get my Qpas
Thank you! Yea it's a verrrry unique sounding module!
I love what you're doing on here.
cheers man!!
Great!! Thanx for your Music!!🙌
Thank you! ☺️
Thanks!
yass this is my monday morning listening sorted!
Brilliant video! Very helpful (and costly, damn it!)
haha thank you and sorry! :D
Hey just found your channel. Great great stuff!
Much appreciated!😊
this is top stuff!!!!
Man, I was considering selling my QPAS but I think I need to give it another chance. Great video!
Same
I was too! lol
this channel is fire
cheers man!!
that 'Modulate Everything Dark Jam' is something else... fvck.
I like that jam too ~ I developed it further into a track that I’ll hopefully finish soon lol
12:04 Plaid vibes. Nice 👌
I'm not familiar with Plaid - i will check them out!
@@TheUnperson and the opening track of each of the Plaid albums is usually always something really special
Reachy Prints (album) is good all the way through.
have you tried stepping the smile pass with some stepped curve from pam's? i think that would be nice and i was wondering if that was possible (say cross moding a ramp with a square wave and make a descending or ascending stepped freq sweep on the qpas).
I haven’t but that’s a great idea! I haven’t used QPAS for a while so it’s about time to revisit it and try push it a bit harder!
@@TheUnperson would love to hear those stepped filter sweeps
That seriously does sound ridiculous, I’m making faces at work I know I probably look crazy but that’s some GOOD ACID
hahah filter-face is hard to fight!
the low pitch shifting sequence sound is really nice at 17:00. Is that a module shifting the octaves, or is that coming out of OP as is?
That’s the OP1 running through the Qu-Bit Data Bender
@@TheUnperson thanks, I really like it.
Seems you might have enough modules now to upgrade from the Nifty Case. Better to use them together than keep half of them in boxes under the bed.
I actually used to have a bigger case and downsized but ... I am considering upsizing again lol
How is QPAS for samples & field recordings?
Actually I haven't tried putting samples through it before - will need to check it out! :)
Which algorithm was that for Fx Aid?
At which part?
@16:15 🤤🤤🤤
Qpas is not bad, but I prefer the mi blades : overdrive circuit, more options with signal pass and outputs
I think that’s a bit like comparing apples to oranges. I think both set out to do different things and both excel t what they want to do.
@@amycatass they are both stereo filters that I have played with, I kept the blades. The qpass has 4 peaks, the blades has 2.
Blades I feel is way more strong when used as a voice, compared to QPAS which is best used as an effect on another voice, imo. Blades could not replace my QPAS for what I want it to do, which is basically acting like a chord resonator. But QPAS can't really act like a complex oscillator like Blades can
@@magnopere if you want a Co, buy one. Hating on a filter that can't be a vco is backwards....qpas is worth the squeeze for all the filtering, pinging and resonating loveliness.
Blades is a dual filter that can do stereo. QPAS is a stereo filter. Both cool modules but pretty hard to compare feature for feature.
Damn it, I have to ask - do you really believe the Earth is flat??
Haha! I think it’s a fun subject to explore, but I don’t take any beliefs too seriously:)
I almost bought the qpas today then saw your dual dagger filter video and not even a comparison dual dagger imo is much better. Now off to thomann as they are out everywhere lol
Dual Dagger is still my favourite filter :D
Yup exactly why i got it lol. Favorite filter ive heard so far!!
