- Being a demo of the Make Noise QPAS "Quad Peak Animation System". It's a wondrous stereo animator effect, masquerading as a quad analogue filter. It's quite a thing. LINKS IN DESCRIPTION ↴

Ace! Is the last part all TX7 as audio source beginning from 20:45?
Also: ✌️✊✌️✊ smile pass ✌️✊✌️✊
Yes! Here’s the raw jams from this video as a standalone vid: 30 MINS OF AMBIENT NOODLING ruclips.net/video/dqINgNpBZts/видео.html
@@mylarmelodies Thanks! Much appreciated.
You can make someone want to buy a module they already have.
Looooooool
Was just about to say it
Haha! It’s so true too!
If one QPAS is this good, imagine if you ran one QPAS into another? See what I'm saying?
@@anniesthesia I think that's illegal.
This is the very definition of "eargasm". I just cannot stop listening to the QPAS demos on loop. I want to finally build a modular system *just so* I can use the QPAS. Maybe I'm not as experienced, but personally QPAS is the most beautiful and melodic filter I've heard. The moment you give it a signal, it just wants to sing along.
Around 23 minutes is like a lush Boards of Canada machine. Absolutely beautiful man!
This is by far the best video about / with the QPas so far. Fantastic sounds. Never gets boring messing around with this beauty.
My god the first 20 minutes is like an outake from Stereolab's Dots and Loops. Beautiful!!
One of the finest albums of all time.
“This is music, not science” Yes, mate 👏🏽💯
Thanks
This one goes right up there with the Atlantis and 0-Caost demoes. Damn that was amazing the whole time, banga after banga!!!
i love the qpas as well, and you really show how this module is a real musical satellite
Randomly got this out of some trading deal.
At first i thought i was probably going to end up selling this.. but it quickly turned into one of my favorite modules!
calling it now shapeshifter into qpas is the new rings into clouds
I'm very very OK with this.
Shapeshifter through rings into clouds into qpas into a separate clouds module
By far the best filter I have 😍 you make me want to buy another one 😁 great video!
Sold! I've been looking for a stereo filter to install next to my Jove. This is perfect and I think the hp space used is justified.
I've had my Qpas for about a year now, and used it almost every time I patch. I've not had much fun with the !! inputs, though. Watching this video again gives me some fab ideas for patching to them. Thank you for this.
👍
It's a fun name, like a q-pass filter, as if it filters out everything but the resonant peak factor, and it does sound really good, though sometimes almost weirdly soft
The patch at 9:00 is so beautiful. I love watching you thinking a: i can't believe how amazing this sounds and b: lets not f this up. This is what makes analog so fun, always best to record everything.
Holy Cow. Best Demo of the QPAS. Think I have to try this myself.
This video is absolute magic! Well done!!
+1 for the Spiritualized reference. Love that record!
Great timing! Just started watching QPAS demos yesterday and then this is uploaded today.
just finished watching. Oh no that last AnCo / Battles example... I think I need one!
Ran a 4MS Spherical Wavetable Navigator through this bad boy for a live set and it sounded ACE. Now I just want to disappear into my studio and try it with all the other things! Great, inspiring vid as usual.
I'll bet the LFOs on the SWAN just made the Qpas sing. Can't wait to get both.
@@johnnymidnight2982 Exactly. And then flipping the rate and shape of those LFOs when you load in a new patch on the SWAN. You're going to have some fun, I think.
@@matthewmadrone2495 Matthew, is it possible to modulate the Swan to make a Rhodes-style sound in conjunction with something like the Q-Pas?
Sehr kosmische. Early nineties ambient stuff too. This seems like a no-brainer if I were to return to Eurorack. The bit starting at 15:37 pleasantly evokes Skinny Puppy's "Worlock," too.
I have literally not listened to any demos of this through fear of missing my Voyager or wanting to buy this.....this module sounds bonkers, great demo!
I miss my voyager, I want this.
You had a Voyager?!!
@@mylarmelodies Uh huh, Tolex XL! Took up too much space. This is back when I had 20+ actual synths.
@@TOMLEW1S I read somewhere that Tony Rolando got the idea for QPAS Radiate controls from his days tuning Moog Voyager dual stereo filters, and wanting to bring/extend that concept in Eurorack. This filter is loads of fun.
I looped 8:00 to 8:30 into a reel on Morphagene and I'm in heaven 😍
Was undecided on which stereo filter to get. This clinched it for me. Something about all the separate simultaneous outs along with all the expected AND odd modulation inputs, the simplicity of not having to decide what filter type goes into another whether parallel or in series, and the addition of that unique smile pass. I'm sure I can find a place in every patch for this whether front and center or subtly. Thinking of the nice separation I can get using the LP outs while using HP or BP going 100% wet into FXs. Or mono LP dry centered with BP stereo through a lush reverb. So many possibilities. I'm sold.
Yep this is it, I think this thing is at its subtlest an “effect”, so always worth having in a patch. At its most bonkers, it’s a filter too.
"somebody get me animal collective, actually, more like battles.." - might be my fav saying of all time.
I've been sitting on the fence with Qpas. I was in the market for a filter, though Qpas seems that and more. There are so many filters on the market, it seemed many sounded so similar that I kinda hit the wall researching. Qpas is unique and is set apart from what seems all others. Anyway, seeing you basically perform with just Qpas did it for me. Just purchased one. Thx!!
If you want another unique filter, the Qu-Bit Prism is another really great module
Just ordered Qpas, wonderful demo! :)
I'm so emotional right now. This is just epic. I feel that years have been added onto my life just from watching it - especially the bit with Maths, as well as the bit at 23:30. It's like the quickest way to sound like Steve Hauschildt. Amazing...
Good job Mylar, I think I have to buy my first module in months
Incredible overview of QPAS, but spotting that Cold Mac and Just Friends in your case has me itching for a video from you on those now :)
Quite a lot of learning to do on those(!)
@@mylarmelodies same!!
Holyyy sheet that's gorgeous
Super impressed! Sure is fun watching and listening and learning..Your super tech.
19:25 -19:30 is a close rendition of the way human talk, sounded, on DMT, but quite oddly only one out of three person talking had that effect, which suggest that human ears or btains can hear in multi tracks ! If that isnt strange enough, you simply gotta smoke a brimfilled bowl of DMT , and youll get the point, -l actoally think i found a better example at 05:53 and 06:40 in THIS clip ruclips.net/video/kvRTkJ7Qx2o/видео.html
Monster demo. Thanks!
Truly excellent video. Enjoyed so much.
29:40 had no idea you were an AnCo fan. Always surprised how much our musical tastes overlap.
the most lush product demo on earth
amazing demo!
Would you do a review?, but using basic waves and little animation.
Is “wonderpanel” just what we call modules now? I’m into it
What's the whole synth called then? Wonderpanular?
@@robertsyrett1992 Wondrular!
@@robertsyrett1992 Rackawonder
This is amazing!
Thanks yo for the super nice demo. I was just wondering why nobody did a nice video yet of the Addac603 Tripple Bandpass Filter or the Addac611 Tube filter. I just can'tfi d anything decent on the net...
Wow, I've been skirting around getting into modular for a while now. This demo has blown me away. Interested to know what is/are being used ad the voice(s) in this demo?
Intellijel Shapeshifter, Mutable Instruments Clouds, Yamaha TX7! x
@@mylarmelodies thanks for the reply man. So the TX7 and not the RX7? Didn't even know the TX existed until now
Excellent work! Now I want a second one!
This was better than ASMR
what a great video of a great module. excellent work mate.
great stuff, mylar, might have to grab one
If you had to keep one filter, would it be the QPAS or the Jove? I'm still having problems with the QPAS. It just takes over every patch and makes everything sound like the QPAS. I think it might be too nice for me.
This was just awesome!!
First 15mins sounds like Global Communication - very interesting ambient.
Nice video, thank you. Do you ever melt your patch cables with the candles?
your voice is pure AMR =P ....also, great vid!
Slow spacey stuff sounds like Gong circa sprinkling of clouds !
Mental and I love it!!
My new year’s resolution will be to stop watching your channel and feeding my GAS!!! 🤪🤣
You are the best. That is all.
Oh, you!
GLORIOUS
That the Lamond case? ... man I wish those were still around. Would love a DIY kit.
Yep! It's in Colin/Sequentix's video with the Aphex 4xAtlantis soundtrack, I feel like I have a little piece of history
This module wasn't even on my radar until this video... I don't have room for another filter, especially not 18hp wide, but god damn do I want this now. Where's that "hail" emoji from MuffWiggler when I need it?
Was that a spiritualized reference at 11:17?
Really nice demo. Wonder what reverb and delay did you use before 15:30? They suit QPAS quite well !
Intellijel Rainmaker for delay, I think he says.
Please narrate everything ever.
xahrfbkhdad “...this is now Mylar melodies, speaking you to sleep...” Alex and David Attenborough talkin about things together, would be worthy of a priced ticket haha
Now that’s why you said goodbye to your TR-08. Also was that an Underworld reference at 5.34?
Yep! And yep
ok convinced. fuck, this is unreal!
Amazing!
Curious did you buy the System80 880 or are you just getting to play it? If you did buy it, what was it that made it better than some other 808 module such as Tiptop?
Got sent it to Beta test - I still have the Tiptop 808 modules and a Yocto I have yet to build! For me the 880 is amazing because you have the full, complete voice in analogue, in a tiny space, I think it's voiced spectacularly (eg the Clap especially is 🔥), and you can't get the full voice in euro elsewhere, only a handful of elements are in the TipTop range still, with the most notable absence of the clap and cymbal. It will support trigger ins via a module too, and it works with MIDI too!
Cracked me up around 20 minutes in you started sounding like MaryAnne Hobbs. ;-)
Although, I don’t have much room to speak as I’ve never spoken at all in any of my videos. :-)
Please @mylarmelodies, Which module do you connect at 6:25? Good video, thanks!!
ruclips.net/video/XkSnnc9tNJg/видео.html
@@mylarmelodies thanks!!!
Played it with a friend the other week, should have tried to make the resonanse more melodic lol
Stupid beiinner question: what cable do you need to get audio from a mixer to your monitors?
Depends on what connections the monitors and mixer has, but likely a balanced quarter inch jack to XLR male!
Time to go play with my QPAS
candles made me poop mself before i realise they were cyborg ones
Noice Video as usual!! **sidenote, I like the color of this one, Just sayin'** I've been featuring the QPAS a great deal in my videos if you fancy a look. All the best!
nice discwoman sticker!
Someone get me animal collective - omg I was thinking this through the whole video. Just picked one up for a 250 euro absolutely buzzing!
Qpas seems like instant lapalux, circa 2013/2014
This module sounds so good I almost got rid of it. Everything sounded like QPAS at first. Take the time to learn to use it in subtle ways. If you don't, it will take over every patch. It is a marvelous thing.
Make Noise is kind of messed up though. They do not have the ability to make a bad or even mediocre module. I keep on saying: "This is their Doolittle. They shot their load on this one, for sure. They'll never be able to top this." They prove me wrong every time. I can't wait until I can afford a Mimeophone. I will warp the fabric of spacetime with that thing.
Only thing what usually turns me off by Make Noise is the cryptic menu's/non logical button combinations they sometimes have. Glad the Qpas doesn't have that!
@@pyrox2518 I've found all the Make Noise modules and synths I've used to be really intuitive.
Hello, I'm wondering how you connect the keyboard to your modular system. Thanks.
TX7 > Clouds > QPAS (clouds takes line level inputs!)
@@mylarmelodies Thank you for the reply. What is the module in the upper right hand corner of your rig?
Never mind. I see now. Thanks again.
1:52 has such a strong San Jacinto by Peter Gabriel vibe
also what voice are you using at 29:00?
Yamaha TX7! Aka...a DX7 :3 Sequenced by Keystep (via the MIDIGAL)
@@mylarmelodies Thank you! I wonder if my TG33 has a similar preset
Its a box full of Clangers!
Cowgirl territory - love it !

... didn´t think I´d be buying anything MakeNoise, but that thing´s a beast!
Panharmonium => QPAS should also be killer.

Just do an hour jam with no talking , I’d have that on loop !
I like especially the part where you bemarbles the spanish inputs.
Good lord, starting at 16 minutes in, that is filthier than my kitchen sink.
