Your approach to showing modules is fundamentally a Mylar Meldies approach: demonstrate a feature or a sound by jamming on it - and become yourself surprised during the process. While the DivKid approach of showing off feature after feature in a densely packed patch-follows-patch video definitely has its place, lately I've favoured your approach more and more. Most importantly, there is tremendous musicality in everything you do. Thank you.
Thank you for the lovely comment! I do agree with you too. Mylar Melodies' videos make me want a product whereas DivKid videos show me how to use it when I've bought it :D
Trifecta of goodness going on in all your videos: deep diving into all the goodies a module has to offer, with patching revealed so we can follow you in, while creating gorgeous music with it. Thank you for continuing to do these videos!
Ally, .. "There's more, than meets the eye" .. so true, about MI modules. After owning Beads for awhile, .. I did start thinking that I had experienced most of it's possibilities .. but, that wasn't even close, to being correct. .. thanks
Great demonstration of this little beats of module. Fx, Oscillator, Delay, degradation, reverb... it is amazing and here we can see what is able to do. 👏👏👏
I’ve just come across you, and your vids are superb. Definitely got Mylar’s hands (and ubiquitous coffee cup). DivKid is ace, but I love that you take it slowly, and the viewer can see the whole patch. Thanks for this. Love it!!!
One of your most inspired videos. I had to get off my sofa and go to the studio last night to test this out. Works great! I’m a little fuzzy on why you needed Maths to adjust the gate coming from your keyboard. Could you explain how it’s different than just straight gate to Seed input? Thanx!
I always enjoy your videos, but holy crap, that was fantastic. I didn't realize it could sound like that. I'm gonna rock the boat and try beads into rings. Sacrilege, I know. Thanks as always for more great ideas.
@@TheUnperson Yeah! Honestly, with the crazy shit that comes out of Beads, going into Rings audio in... Who knows wtf will happen? That's the whole fun of it, and you are one of the best in that aspect. Your videos are full of surprises and unconventional methods, which is why I keep coming back.
Thank you. Your videos are inspiring me to explore what is possible with modular synthesis in Reason using Cardinal VST. Your work has a sublime sound.
Trying out Beads internal oscillator was the first thing I did when I got it and I haven't really explored it since. That said, holy shit this video got me thinking about new ways I need to use it! As always, thanks for the good times.
Yes, I know what you mean. I've seen a lot of Beads doubting recently with the arrival of the new MISO Cornflakes module, but, what I've notice is that people seem to have breezed over Beads and not looked/tried out all the deep features (this being one of them). Emelie also insists (suggests) that you can get chords in the normal setting by quick arpeggiating. I quote: "Patch a fast arpeggiated sequence into the PITCH CV input to create chords: each grain will be played at a randomly chosen note of the arpeggio." Another rabbit sound-hole to head down, I'd suggest!
Very cool. I noticed those modules climbing up to $1500 for the Blades and Stages also climbing up there. Probably time to buy Beads before it goes there too.
@@TheUnperson totally was, and while I don’t have an adsr, I do have maths and beads, so I wired that up as an adsr and followed along. You do get a bit nicer sound with a proper adsr, but in a pinch😊
Beads will work well with those modules for sure! But I’d also recommend getting a multi-fx module. I use the FX aid but there are loads of cool fx modules to check out 😎
This is brilliant. Just wondering what exactly the freeze button is doing here. When I hit freeze in wavetable mode, it doesn't seem to affect the dry wavetable source, but only the granular sampling of the wavetable. In other words, freeze functions very differently than it does with an external audio input. Would love to hear more about how you’re using freeze to make such beautiful textures!
Cheers man! I think for that patch I have the dry/wet knob sitting at about halfway which allows the frozen granular sound and the dry unfrozen sound to play simultaneously.
@@UncleJimima You're right, thanks! Actually at one point in 14:18 he does explain that he uses a gate from Pam's, attenuated by Maths, and then going into Beads' feedback. Totally missed that part!
@@TheUnperson Thanks for the response, that's really interesting! I'm not sure how it works exactly though.. I see you have the gates mult'ed to both Trig 1 and 4 on Maths, and Pam's Out 4 going into Maths 3, but how does Pam's affect the Maths' modulation? Hope my question was clear.. Thanks again!
@@notsospy Actually you're right - in this video Pam's isn't affecting Maths! The way I was describing is just using Pam's to trigger the channels of Maths so that the modulations happen in time with the BPM :)

You have certainly earned the title ‘Master of Beads’ ❤🙏
Blown Away!! You’re my hands down fav. Huge Thank you!!

I love your demo’s because they’re so focussed on the musical side of it.
Great job again!
Thank you - much appreciated!
It's the music that really makes this channel.

Inspiring as usual! The granular chord patch at the end is especially nice.

thanks for the reminder, haven't done this for awhile and forgot. sweet
Beautiful sounds as always.

Ooooh Beads into Rings! I haven't tried that before....

this is class!!! ive been overlooking the oscillator function!
Sounds so beautiful!!!
I love you channel. Thanks for posting such high quality videos
Hi, at 3:56 min, you hit a key to transpose the sequence? what is this feature called? I am trying to figure it out :) cheers & love your videos!
If you have a sequence running on the keystep, and the record button is off, then it should transpose whenever you hit a key :)
Thank you. Your videos are inspiring me to explore what is possible with modular synthesis in Reason using Cardinal VST. Your work has a sublime sound.

Just did a quick search and it seems Beads isn’t so easy to get! Definitely one to hold on to!
Super video, many thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you!
Another great video! Keep 'em coming!!!

I didn't even know beads could do any of that... kinda floored me

Hi,
Thanks for your videos. Can you help me with a question? I have the DataBender, Chords and Plaits, make sence to buy Beads?

How are you using Pam's for this patch?
Looks like to clock data bender and thats it.
