      Match was staged, the video is fake. Look into it, I'm pretty sure Eddie Bravo doesn't even really know BJJ, so how can he beat a Gracie? Think for yourself for once instead of believing this nonsense.

      rely on actions than beliefs my friend, just like that saying: "Take the good & leave the bad", well that implies to everything and everyone, what Eddie does is amazing and he's a genius when it comes to his craft, sorta like Elon Musk with what he did with the old theories and technologies of the ways we did things around here and took it to the next level and improved on all of them, so that does not mean we should follow every thought he has and believe it, but rather follow his actions, not words, we have enough heartache from religions and other beliefs people have, the last thing we want is to live in loop...

Like the most threatening thing royler did was hold on to Eddie's pants at the end. Mad respect to eddie!

      Like most JRE fans Joes interest in Eddie is questioned by knowledge of real world physics & logical psychological parameters because of eddies belief in earth being flat and "photo-shopped" along with that 90's AF goatee, then regained after learning about his interest in metal, or after he mathematically destroys a jitz legend.

      I have to say, you call it good, however you can see right there. It did not work on Royler. Why was he surprised that a Gracie was not tapping? Royler was not in pain or threatend, because the Gracie's train to be inhumanly flexible. That's the difference between one of Eddie's idiot cronies and a blood Gracie. I will admit that Eddie was a dominant force here, however Eddie won the 1st time in seconds using a classic inescapable Jujitsu technique paired with his superhuman dexterity. Now with this fake stoner Cali jujitsu in his mind he got these "dominant" position, however in reality he's just confusing Royler. I think this was a great fight, but I think it's bullshit. Eddie should give Royler his technique's and let him train against them, and poke the holes I'm sure he will find in them. I'll tell you why, Eddie's shit is based off of Gracie's shit, so there were nothing that Royler could do to surprise Eddie but not the other way around. If this match was truly equal I don't think it would have been so smooth. So respect to Eddie for developing his own adapted jujitsu, that's good enough to throw off a fuckin Gracie but if he wants it to really be great he should train with Royler regularly.

    • @cristalp304
      @cristalp304 7 лет назад +215

      nothing you said changed the fact that if this match was called via points eddie would have won. Royler never threatened bravo at any giving time in the match but he was constantly threaten by eddie's techniques. He's moves aren't as good, get over it.

      I train at a major Gracie school, and this man speaks the truth.
      I feel shame for what's been happening since this fight, and I'd like people to know this: not everyone who trains at a Gracie BJJ school is a sore, brainwashed loser.
      I've been following Eddie for quite some time now, but I had never given 10th Planet the attention it deserves. After this fight, I bought Eddie's book (JJ Unleashed) and his DVD (The Twister), so I could better study this system. If anyone has any tips for a 10th Planet beginner, they'd be much appreciated.
      I've been trying the Lockdown, as well as a few basic sweeps (Old School, Plan B, Half and Half) and submissions (Electric Chair, mostly) since Monday, and people are getting CRAZY at my school. We only train in the gi, and I find that makes things more difficult. Luckily, I have some good friends who help me understand my mistakes and polish the techniques. We don't have any 10th Planet here in Brazil, I think. Thus, all I have is trial-and-error, under the guidance of Eddie's book and some Submission 101 videos.
      As for the Rubber Guard itself, I've been blessed with some natural flexibility (not near as good as Eddie's, but bear with me), and I'm trying it. That being said, Mission Control and New York are simply marvelous. People are tapping out of frustration when I can get to the New York, because I simply hold them there. I still can't get any submissions from the Rubber Guard, mostly because I don't understand it very well.
      Well, I'm sorry for the wall of text. I just wanted to say THANK YOU, Eddie. And THANK YOU, 10th Planet students.

      Krazy Lobster damn... it's refreshing to see such a healthy and open mindset, congratulations and thank you for having a brilliant attitude!
      I think most of us think, and hope, that not all Gracie students are completely biased but unfortunately there does seem to be a few out there.
      I have nothing against the Gracie family, I am a massive fan of pretty much all their people... it's just more disappointing than anything to see how they react to adversity in sports, specifically BJJ and MMA. Even some of their younger generation, specifically Rener, Ryron and Ralek are acting the traditional delusional manner.
      Good luck on your martial arts, BJJ and 10th planet journey my friend!

      Krazy Lobster The Twister DVD is more a comedy DVD of Eddie mocking MTV cribs and showing old matches where he did the twister. If you want real 10th planet instruction buy his Mastering the Rubber guard DVD set. It goes into a lot of detail about half guard, lock down, old school, butterfly guard, and of course the rubber guard. You won't be disappointed in that DVD set.

They preach about how BJJ has no ego, at least in the "Gracie Academy".....yet some of the biggest Gracie's are nothing but ego. They expect to be treated like royalty. The whole "you gotta ask us first if u come up with new effective techniques". Also They act like refusing to tap means they don't loose. They play that shit on ppl that IDOLIZE them. Not many ppl can beat them....they are great....but if you CAN beat them they can't stand you and they will force you to tear their shoulder off to win. Afterward the family will try to fight you for tearing off their family members shoulder.

  • @joshisnot11
    @joshisnot11 5 лет назад +50

    Watch at @21:02
    Royler had a right underhook on Eddie, in top position, and locked in.
    In one second, Eddie used his ungodly-good leg control to stretch out Royler's right leg, snapping it downwards enough to compromise his center of gravity JUST enough to off balance him, then just slips his own underhook right in.
    Does the same thing again around the 23 min mark.
    Just unbelievable to see Bravo controlling Royler with that level of confidence.
    At certain points it looks as if Royler is literally pushing hard with his thumb and finger tips into the throat of Bravo....yet he stays totally composed.
    Just when you think there's no more levels to something, you realize there's MANY more levels still undiscovered by even those we generally view as the pinnacle of any one thing.

      can you explain to me what a Brazilian tap is?

    • @johnqcurls
      @johnqcurls 8 лет назад +445

      It's a really ambiguous tap that sometimes makes the opponent release the sub thinking you tapped, but it's subtle enough that maybe the ref doesn't see it or consider it a tap. Basically it gets your opponent to give you some space to get out a submission, but you can argue that you never actually tapped. It's a bitch move, but you shouldn't let a sub go until the ref tells you for this reason. You should stop cranking out of courtesy if you feel a tap, but you don't just release everything and give up position unless you are convinced that your opponent is hurt. Obviously, this only applies in a real match. You should always let go when you feel a tap while rolling. It's just safer and kinder that way. You should also never fake a tap to gain position. Not just because it's a bitch move, but because it's dangerous. It's "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". You do it a couple times and people figure it out and stop paying attention to your real taps because they think you're playing them again.

    one of the metamoris rules was that if the time ran out while one of the two grapplers was in a submission, the match would be extended past allotted time. the match should not have been stopped while Royler was caught in a submission. he would have had to tap eventually had the rules been followed. knowing roylers ego though, he would have rather had his knee vaporized for hours on end before letting little eddie bravo embarrass him again. what he and all the Gracie's don't seem to grasp is...the embarrassment is the lack of humility and respect they brought into the martial arts world that they helped pioneer. this is why gyms like 10th planet have far surpassed that of the Gracie's. they refuse to accept defeat or adopt new techniques they did not create.and when they do adopt new techniques, they have this weird obsession with making sure they let everyone know they came up with it first. they've renamed so many of Eddie's submissions and sweeps and combos and claimed that his names for them bring disrespect and immaturity to the art, and that he stole many of those maneuvers from their playbook. they're a very sad family at this point...successful, but sad. I hate seeing their mentality get passed off onto guys like Nate Diaz. its a shame.

    The first time I watched Royler v Bravo I, I thought he might have gotten lucky. After watching him more, learning more bout his system, and watching this match I think he legitimately beat Royler the first time. Eddie likes to be patient, work guys, while still going for the kill. The difference between them and now is that he still hadn't fully developed his style yet. But I'm glad Eddie proved the first time wasn't a fluke and that 10PBJJ belongs.
