When my husband and I were first together in 1980 or so we had a VW camper conversion. We didn't live in it but we loved camping in it. So much fun and comfy too. Had a baby and she came with easily. Such a fun time in our lives. Love the Mercedes or Sprinter conversions, too. Maybe some day!
You guys want to know why this dude has such an amazing outlook on life? Pay attention to 1:10 - 1:25. Instead of focusing on how cold it gets in December, he marvels at the icicles his breath makes. Lovin' your videos, man.
loved your style, footage, editing, scenery, and just in general the vibes I got from your video within the first 30 seconds! Subscribed. You're doing the exact thing I want to be doing in several months or a year. :) Thanks for sharing, you're awesome!
Great Video. The sped up video with the environment sound and no overlay of talking makes you as a viewer focus 110% on what you are doing and how you are doing it. No one one really wants to listen to someone saying that used 3 inch plywood for the floor that they bought from a hardware store for $30. etc etc. Thumbs up from Me!
Like poetry in motion. Beautiful work.
These videos are so much fun to make and see come together. Glad you enjoyed it
I like the fast forward combined with the sounds!
Thanks! I learned it from Diresta
Production quality is awesome! Not just youtube material. You've got talent brother.
You did a really good job. I really admire people that can get stuff done even with little or no money. Great job. Janice
Cheers!
Nice job! Thanks for bringing us into this wonderful moment. I appreciate seeing how you handled this. I'm afraid there are no walnut or cedar planks in my future. I'll probably go with pallet wood too, & maybe some corrugated metal. I like shiny stuff.
One of the best conversion videos ever.
I love the way you recorded this with the sound and film sped up its incredible
Hey guys! Part two is up, Let me know what you think of the pallets! left.ly/ghetto-part2 check it.
Your Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!GOOD JOBBBBBBB BROOOO🎉

Really nice speed on the speed up!
Not to fast, not to slow. Still able to catch a lot of details. And great work keeping on the camera frame.
Sprinters seem to be the “In thing, these days”. Super cool. Love the whole vibe, prob best out in country. In the cities they are cracking down on where you can park, stop n stay, etc. Even buying your own land, townships dont want trailers, RV’s, tiny homes, etc. Sucks.
You do better work than most rv shops. nicely done.
Thanks Man, I hope to do even better in the future.
Ok, that trick video magicry at the end was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.
Getting married is exciting! Sharing life with someone special is freakin' awesome!
It really is. I've been loving marriage so far.
I would say this IS THE BEST VIDEO I"VE SEEN!!!
i can watch this all day
Congrats! I would of like subtitles describing the buildout too. Like what materials you are using on the floor, etc. enjoy the rig.
Thanks Mark! On the next build I'll be more specific hopefully
that was a fun watch. Thanks for making that and even more thanks for filming it
awesome choice in van, good luck ,exited for you.
is it just me or is anyone else loving the little scurrying mouse noises during the time lapse? 😊
Nice work, man. Enjoyed many things about this video. Great music choices as well!
this stop motion was so satisfying
+Whats Your Take On It - I love seeing the progress so much : )
You work fast Levi. Thanks for sharing.
thats one of my dream right there man...nice job
- Make your dream happen. Start setting aside cash, and shift priorities!
couple questions:
1. what is the metal box you installed under the seat, and does it have a specific use?
2. why didn't you put expanding foam insulation behind the boards?
3. are you at all concerned that the walls of the could bend a bit and your bed frame would fall down?
Love this. Oddly fascinating. The sound definitely helps too. Well done!
Thank John!
there is no better feeling in the world then making something yourself
funny
KoKi GAmI even better
Great to see the process!
- The process is a blast
Great job on the Sprinter van build so far! I'll be looking forward to watching all of your step by step videos : ) Liked and Subscribed!
- Woohoo, glad to have you along
I subsribed in the first 5 seconds because he started off with "in the words of flight of the conchords..". I guess van dwellers are on the same wavelength , dope video!
Verry cool! Love the timelapse I do the same thing on my school bus conversion videos. Definitely will be following!
Thanks man, great videos yourself.
This should 100% have The Eye of The Tiger being played on repeat in the background!
this guy is gonna be one of the biggest on youtube
fun video! the sounds were cracking me up, nicely done! cant wait to watch more!
I find the sounds hilarious
That's fascinating, im saving up money to buy me one when I grow up. I think that it's a great project!
You really meant fast! Look at how fast you hammered!
Awesome project, dude!!! Im stay tuned!!!
I will* stay tuned :) (me too!)
Thanks for sharing your excitement! Can't wait to share more.
Excellent editing, bravo!
awesome start dude. the chipmunk style tempo works well. that last drone shot!!👌
- Stoked you enjoyed it!
Dope time lapse! You did a great job of capturing audio.
Dude this is awesome, I just bought an '03 T1N 158" like yours! 4x4 in Germany though :D :D. Can't wait to see how your interior turns out! After 2 years traveling Europe and Africa on my moto, the space in this van is a hell of a shock. Wicked to see you're rolling with the long van, let the departure angle haters do their thing haha
So jealous you have a 4x4! Make sure to document your adventures, would love to see them.
Awesome, been looking for early stage videos like this... it would be awesome if you could narrate some of it though. I wasn't exactly sure what you were doing at various stages.
the best video , thanks for not putting some crazy music in it. I LIKE IT GREAT JOB I WILL BE WATCHING
Thanks Joseph!
How sweet, 11 mins of nest building action.
: )
The noise is the best :-)
Thanks!
Loved your foley on this video
Great Video! Beautiful drone footage.
- Thanks Jakob!
1:44 beatiful view there!
You get a thumbs up JUST for the FOTC reference!
i LOVE the sounds
Thanks Eric!
I love watching these van build outs. I've been contemplating going with a sprinter, still in the planning stages. Im curious how the prices are for repairs. That's my fear where as something like a normal Chevy cargo van might cost $1000, the same thing on a sprinter be 3 times that.
+Get Lost & Discover - Yeah there is honestly tonnes of opinions out there on the topic of sprinter repairs. You can hear a lot of bad stories if you look for them, but there is also dozens of really good stories with almost repair free owners with hundreds of thousands of miles. I've been repair free for a year, and my biggest fear is a repair I'm not ready for. My goal is to have a decent amount set aside just for surprise repairs. For me the risk of a more expensive is worth having the benefits of great fuel mileage, super high roof, and rad converting community already established.
+Leftcoast Thanks for the reply. I also plan to have a decent sized find for any vehicle repairs and those features are also super important for me too so sounds like Sprinter is the way to go.
I just bought the same van, but with windows!
I want more!!!!! Great job!!
-More will come. More will come
Just watching your van conversion now. You seem to have uses quite a lot of Rattletrap. Great Video.
look forward to seeing part 2
Thanks for sharing
: )
Great video! We have just started converting a Luton and have uploaded a video of our progress so far on our channel.
Awesome man.
You had me at Flight of the Conchords :)
Awesome video, like how you did this!!
Just making it up as I go
I wish my old 02 sprinter looked as clean as that. The uk weather takes it's toll (
Bruh you’re the best bruh I’m pretty much doing then ghetto tube living . but I’m starting the full conversion in the spring !
Hope you have nice time
Nice project man. I really enjoyed watching it! :)
Nice no bullshit video. Really like the editing and that you left the sound on (sounds cool) instead of some crappy music. :) Have you had any problems with the sprinter itself? I'm thinking about doing something similar myself :)
Splendid.
Great job
So jealous. Great Work.
- Don't be jealous : ) you can make it happen. Shift priorities, live simply
Loved this! Dude you've got skills!
: )
I really enjoyed this! Nice work
Thanks William
I Loved this! Really Nice! 🐙

Oh my fuckin gawd...I went to the Oregon Coast today for the first time. I'm from Texas been here 3 months barely learned of van life but I lived in my scion before. ..I want to do this so badly hope yall are fine. I'm with my girlfriend here
jeee he is a fast worker, did u c da speed he was going
I see what you did there Van-couver ;)
Super van!!!👍👍👍👏👏👏
Amazing dude!
Wow great job man really cool
Thanks man!
Nice! I'm looking forward to getting my van. When you drill the panels on the floor, are you going through the metal of the van?
Dude this is EXACTLY what I want to do, down to the production company. I work in post-production on big films though, any thoughts on things like internet options and such? Can't really go without.
Yeah I have not figured it out the best way to get internet. I wish I had an LTE booster.
I'm a production sound mixer hoping to start my own van conversion soon. Maybe we'll cross paths some time!
Daang dude! Hope you slowed it down for the honeymoon! Nice job.
Nice camera work AND (disclaimer: Novice in just about everything!) How did you add in just the sounds of the drills, the boards moving about? That was very cool!
All the shots are videos, and the video has the sound in it. When I sped it up, I just sped up the audio too.
nice conversion, but it would be cooler if you provide some voice over explaining your thoughts etc.
I hope to do that in the future when I do a more thorough build
Love the Sound of the hammer....😊😊
Thanks for a great video! I noticed that you (and many others) drill/screw directly into the walls and floor of the van. Is that totally uncomplicated? Isn't there a risk of water/moisture coming in? Should you seal all the screws/holes to be absolutely sure?
I actually screwed in the floor directly where the factory holes were. I recently pulled the whole floor up after 2 years there was no signs of rust at those locations. If I wasn't going into the same spots, I would make sure to fill those holes to avoid problems.
And on the walls I just made small holes on the structural sheet metal. Those as well didn't rust at all in over 2 years. That's what I plan to do again. Just making sure I don't screw through to the outside of the van
nice contruction, cool, and I like the time lapsed sound :-) especially when you whistle like a birdy **hihihihi** have fun
bro your amazing.....what are some red flags to look for when buying a used sprinter.
Rust is a huge issue. The sprinter source forum has some great threads on other things to look through.
Have you driven those screws through the floor of the van??surely glueing down some battens would have been better?
+brewinginc. There was existing holes from the previous floor. I just needed to line it up.
Awesome vid/ music
Nice van. Move camera too fast was getting dizzy. Got some cool stuff
seen you on the DJI new action film project, dope action on that Boom bro! :D was really happy to recognize you on the BTS :D
-Glad you noticed me : ) - it was a blast helping those guys out.
just subscribed...... your giving of good vibes .😆
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing!
like building a house i thought you run the wiring, piping first? before insulation the van.
When I do the official build, that is what I will do. This is just the inexpensive build to tie us over in the meantime.
