This would in fact be the inline 6 cylinder turbo Scania. Puts out about 300hp. Found in the 4890 and 4894 I believe. The 4994 got the V8 Scania turbo. It makes about 400hp and the exhaust is found on the opposite side by the door. Have a 4890, 4894, and 2 4994's on the farm.
i drive/ maintain this tractor in the video, its a 6cyl scania turbo engine, found in a 112 scania i belive, and yes th 4994 have the v8 and are only available in red i believe.
4wheel steer, with crab steer, opposite steer or independant, rear wheels can be controlled by a rocker switch, with front controlled by the steering wheel
If you watch the video about "Big Bud," it was especially made fore a specific purpose. Once it burned itself out, they rebuilt it, only for cosmetic purposes, and never used it again. The people that raised the money to build it up, take it around the country to tractor shows, and only when they can afford to.
ya the baldwins, i saw a video of 2 air drill coupled together to equal 120 feet, also they coupled the tanks on as well. this tractor was 625 horse power!
big bud is definately a beast, but in northern ireland terms, this has got to be one of the biggest machines in the country, only a select few similar size
the rear wheels can be independent or coupled with the front tires. you can also turn them in the same direction to make the tractor go sideways sort of, hence the "crab steer" it is actually quite useful in the right situations i grew up on a dairy farm that had 3 of these type of tractors a 2670, 4690, 4894 they are awesome machines and actually quite fun to drive and operate
Beast? We got one on display here in America they don't make anymore. They nicknamed it "Big Bud" One they made that had dual tires and wheels all the way around. Type it in, and see what you get.

Although designed by Scania, the units used in the Case 4890's were built in the States by Waukesha in Wisconsin.
Picked this and another one up in macosquin tonight from James Christie….both going to Scotland tomorrow
Was talking to Mr Porter previous owner about it last week!
Great lump of a tractor!
Where abouts in Scotland?
@@allistairc123 I delivered an 8810 John Deere up and picked these up as a part exchange going over to a dealer the scania one sounded great 💪🏼
crab steer is the word, I didn't know and which makes that tractor interesting.
Thank you.

nice engine!
It's odd how nowadays you see 300 HP tractors pulling implements that a 100 HP tractor handled 10 to 20 years ago.
this was at a working day at mount stewart. would have loved the 1690 on them discs!!

1st time this machine has been worked with its owner, had to borrow the discs, would love something to really make her grunt!

she's a pullin' hard she's a pullin' hard
@bigsheamy No it is a Scania V8 engine in it and factoryfitted woth that engine on this model.
Can you tell me something about the steering? Can you steer both axles in the same direction (as on the Claas Xerion today)?
It only took 6 years for someone to answer you. YES

Personally I dislike the crab steer... A lot, it does work but it is not a good system.
Man Put something other than that baby disc behind it. We have a 33 foot field cultivator behind ours and it talks real nice
You can't bet the old brown.
Where was this took? the 1690 turbo would of done the job
now if this beast had a scania V8 that would be awesome
Is this a 6cyl turbo engine?
bigsheamy yes
my dualed ford 8730 could pull that discer through this easy, this is no challenge for this tractor.
