yeahmy dad is Randy williams, i cut my teeth on the white 4994 working ground when i was 14, and seeding when i was 17, man it was so nice to have all that power and my buddies had to run tractors with 270 hp to 325 to 375. The red one we had was tuned up to 450 hp. the only thing was the rear steering would go nuts in the morning or after it rained. but they pull 60 foot of jd 9450 drills like they were not even there.

yes both axles steer you can steer each one independent or together yes you can turn them both in the same direction that is the crab steer feature quite handy in the right situation.
Only video I ever found of a 4994 doing field work
Dude looks all fired up and enthused.

I spent quite a bit of time on a 4890 and 4690 working for a relative back in the 80s.
we used to have 2 4994s one red and one white, damm good for power.
This was THE BIGGEST j.i. case tractor ever built.
@ chambsuper90: they look alike b/c they are the same thing. When Tennaco took over Steiger they painted them red.
When it comes to diesel V8's, Scania has their shit together.
That V8 makes buttloads of low end torque!
Yah, that's not a V8, it's an inline.
@@nathanruff7459 uh, pretty sure it's not, bruh.
Nathan Ruff if it was a 4894 you’d be right. You aren’t right however
It was a direct copy of the Mack

Hey there,
can you tell me anything about the steering? Do both axles steer? Can you set them both in on direction (as e.g. on the Claas Xerion)?
