A Piers Cross video always makes me feel positive and hopeful for the future after I watch, everything is going to be ok! Beautiful landscape too, lots of history around those parts, as well as lots of peaceful streams (I love streams!). Thanks for peace of mind, Piers!

Oh you are very welcome Piers! And thank you too for your well wishes and saying thank you for your light. I don't know what that means exactly but it sounds like something awesome. I also feel like sometimes the simplest things in life are the most wonderful and helpful. One of my other most helpful tools is gratitude. I never take anything for granted because I know what it's like to have everything I love taken away. Everything. And what a blessing that was. It changes my perspective in that now I am always grateful. "An attitude of gratitude brings great things." -Yogi Bhajan. :) I also wanted to say oh how I wish I had the knowledge and wisdom you gained while living in the Buddhist monastery. I know a bit about the huge variations and parameters of Buddhism beliefs/living tools and I believe. I always have since I read about Edgar Cayce. Thank you for writing to me. Your inspiring us know. :)

      Hi Jordan,
I agree with gratitude immensely - I feel it has played an important part in my own life too. The monastery was an amazing experience in hindsight and yet at the time was the most challenging thing I could have done (and yet it was the only thing I could do...).
      May you be well,
      Piers

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,It's about learning to dance in the rain, Waiting for the storm to pass only makes us anxious, Dancing with it is just taking the rough with the smooth.

Hi Ben, What beautiful words... Yes, I agree whole heartedly. Let us dance with life, let us flow fluidly with grace and ease. Let us love this life for all that it gives us whether rain or sun, let us be all that we are and not hide from our shadows.
      Many blessings to you,
      Be well,
      Piers

Good stuff. I want to share what helps me too. I am a recovering addict and go to 12 step meetings. We have what is called the serenity prayer. It is: God, (this saying/happy living tool is no less valuable if you don't believe in God and cut that part out) please grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference. At first glance that may seem pretty simple but try looking deeper. I live by it and it is never easy but nothing worth while ever is. The first part helps me the most. Every time I get mad about something or regret something I did etc. and I am dwelling on it I stop and say hey wait Jordan, this happened (or is happening) and it cannot be undone. What is the use in letting it control my feelings if it can't be changed? And in that one moment I go from a negative emotion to being content. In just seconds. I never ever would have thought myself capable of doing that but I did it. It makes me proud of myself. :)

      Hi Jordan,
Thank you so much for sharing. I love learning new tools and techniques so thank you for sharing this with us all. I first came across this when I was back visiting the Buddhist monastery I spent 3 years in. One of the visitors was a recovering alcoholic and he told me the prayer. I didn't write it down so it is lovely to be reminded of it
Sometimes the simple things are the most wonderful. They are the easiest to remember in times of need. It took me a long time to remember...
      Thank you for your light,
      May you be well,
      Piers

I think I may have some idea of what you mean by what you said. It was so challenging because you went into it suddenly and your entire being was completely changed within one day? You were facing some hardships and you went into the monastery in the state of mind that the hardships put you in? And furthermore, you were aware that you would be there for some time and that there was no immediate way out of this world you were in a sense thrown into? I might be totally off base here and its not even fair of me to theorize about your past. I'm sorry. I'm in my head too much and I understand there can be dangers involved with that. I'm working on it. Let me end by a quote I once heard. " nothing is so devastating to the mind as a great and sudden change." It was something like that. I can't remember where I read it from but it stuck with me. I had never really realized it before.. May you be well too Piers. :)
