One of the most important pieces of electronica ever created.
Gentleman, u r fockin' right. Deep, Sharp and Intelligent. One of the best Ever. And I was just 20. Masterpiece. Then They turned into something else. Trying to become scientists. Lost their touch. Saw em twice. Boring as a compliment.
Absolutely. I'd say that the entire album is one of the best electronic album ever
@@illuogoorg100%. My #1 album of all
@@gianmalondra9828 yeah, im at this stage where unorthodox time signatures don't appeal to me. those guys doing mathrock can handle it. and if i want formless matter theres merzbow. theres rarely anything interesting since Voices from the Lake.
This track still gives me goosebumps ❤
Love walking around listening to this album as the winter fades to spring
One of the songs that I can listen to non-stop till the end of my days. ❤
Same dude .. the song speaks the silent parts so loudly to me
It is over 30 years old, and it sounds fresher than the most of modern songs
Love how there's so much subtle variety to those "hi-hats". And that tranquil atmosphere...
I woke from a dream with this track stuck in my head, It was a dream from the past with present characters in fields and houses but with a darkness an hollowness creeping in some of the homes. I had not listened to this track for about 5 years, but I had to listen today.
@Rafael Kace fuck you stop advertising
ok
Sounds like something that could happen to me
interesting
cool
There are some mornings when you wake up and your soul warrants some autechre. 😊
I love how the Incunabula album is really easy to get into. I love Autechre, but sometimes, I'm in the mood for something easier to get into.
I totally agree, there were a lot of instrumental restraints back in that day, but it sounds so futuristic nonetheless
@@andreysleepdeep That's what made 90's electronica way more interesting than today's.
@@jeanpomelpomel4875 there is great music today tho
@@alexandrosanchez6501 there is, but it's not on the top charts, its hidden deep in soundcloud lol
@@runneypo of course, it's 2022
Love the bassline in this one, such a cool texture.
Classic AE. The early beauty.😆
Thank you autechre for these sounds , helped me through so much
Me too. 97/98 I was in a dark bad place (relationship split), and this helped me so much
my favourite piece of work from Incunabula..
'444' kinda sounds similar...
@@philiparcher2868 444 is kinda annoying tbf
@@nonentity7709 Each to their own like or dislike!
It's always been mine too.
makes me feel nostalgic and i love it. so, so good
this is absolutely gorgeous
The Best track of Autechre and a idm Classic!!!!!
Everything needed to be expressed in life was in this track. That they made a "masterpiece" is a gross understatement.
Timeless.
Part of the Artificial Intelligence series led by Warp 90s era Britain and the subjects studied , electronics and it's variations. I was at Motorola at the start of the 21st when the USA manufacturers relocated to China, even a bond movie scene at the site. The message is how consumer electronics has emerged in the Far East and those subjects studied in UK Europe are now part of electronic evolution and diversion.Reload a collection of short stories
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHh YES! Fantastic tune.
Wow this brings back memories
Let me reiterate....MASTERPEICE
Autechre!! Genios!!! 🪐🪐❤️
Thankyou autechre ,blackdog,b12
THIS IS BLISS
What a tune!
This is so relaxing.. ✨♥️
When i knew this song i feel so beautifully strange...a great sensation invaded my whole body, it was an electric shock and after listening many times I felt a great nostalgia as if it were a sunset on a plain
there aren't many tracks better than this
listen to 'eggshell' by the Future Sound Of London... search on YT. Let me know what you think. Peace! :)
+ilLucidvibes no
+ilLucidvibes nice, nice track
a good work by FSoL
but this "eggshell" by autechre is really basic for the music history
i'm like the biggest Autechre fan, but FSOL's 'eggshell' just blows me away... especially that ending! gives me that profound sense of nostalgia every time.
try ''Lost'' or ''Clipper'' by Autechre? Drane? Montreal, ffs?
masterpiece!
Any plans on any more reissues of autechre albums ??? Untilted & oversteps are the only 2 I need to complete my discography! ❤️
Ticket to the future.
FOREVER.
Did eric prydz sample this in one of his tracks(power drive) ???
I think I can hear some subtle influence from Whodini's "Friends".
favourite thing!!!
This track changed everything. Definitely music history. With todays (IDM infected) ears, it is almost ... easy listening pop music. But still.
Containing class- and not crass..
I know what you mean by "easy listening", I feel the same way heh 😉
If you wander on 93's music, rarely you will find something of this quality of production (if you do)!
Meanwhile Artificial Intelligence (1992): am I a joke to you?
@@apollodiomedes203 Haha, from the warp guys... :p
Still rare in comparison with all the releases from the time.
wicked times tune!!1

Why doesn't Autechre make music like this anymore.
its been 30 years, peoples tastes and preferences change.
i don't know man
but i do love their dark techno like stuff, it's similar to how Aphex Twin's AFX alias was different from his IDM catalogue, making Acid Techno
Because it would be more of the same, lol...
I also have different music for different albums, i'm tired of making the same thing...
Not comparing my music to autechre, of course... Especially that i just do as hobby...
@@sophiacristina They've been doing the "same" experimental stuff for decades now to where it isn't even experimental anymore. Doing this type of music again would be more a change for them than their current path.
@@maulcs I agree in the sense they are just doing experimental stuffs, but at least on experiment is different than another...
And also agree that would be cool to have oldschool Autechre too...
But i also understand them, once you get so fascinated with what you can do with modern tools and math, you just can't help yourself to experiment to the maximum, hahha...
they really polished up "the egg", as much as i love the original this version sounds a lot more professional
I can't believe Ae considers their early stuff inferior (of course, I don't get their later stuff at ALL, so...).
I dont either maybe they disappeared up a specific hole along with Leftfield after the Leftism Album. Only kidding..but not about Leftfield.

Idm gives me peace and comfort while being bombarded by russians in Ukraine.. this music always accompanies me. Was evacuated to another city with no acquaintes or friends, just me, strangers and idm musicians.

Remix of "The Egg"
never knew this, thanks.
i think it's not remix, it's rework of that tune. Both have similarities, but Eggshell fit in album perfectly and have perfect tone structure. Egg more complicated with those voice sample. But eggshel more hypnotic!
Human metabolism and healthy eating, the old cliche Relative and Subjective. I know a person who is in his 90s and has an egg with wholemeal bread almost every morning and cereal with milk. CBL, there are no answers, only choices
Has anyone eaten brain ? or Muguz as they call it in some languages, what I found it tasted a bit like Egg.

A strange one, if your not up to the same education level or intelligence, then complex creeps in. The results are automatic, a human condition
reminds me of Weregild by grimes
Autechre probably cringe when they hear this album now
thats their problem
Lets be honest, should have been a 5 minute song
Umm... no... Autechres long tracks offer delayed gratification, you will be rewarded for your patience. Total opposite of crappy pop music that throws a catchy hook are you every few bars but has no intellectual meat.
@@andrewbellinger6120 This song is too repetitive for that though.
@@internetenjoyer1044 Most of Autechre's songs are too long and repetitive.
Not at all good tracks I never mind if looooooong! :)
wrong, it's the perfect length.
