I realize I never added the 80s albums to the full list. Here are the 80s rankings within the 60s/70s ones:
1.) Ziggy Stardust
2.) Low
3.) Hunky Dory
4.) Heroes
5.) Station to Station
6.) Alladin Sane
7.) Lodger
*8.) SCARY MONSTERS (AND SUPER CREEPS)*
9.) The Man Who Sold The World

11.) Young Americans
12.) Spade Oddity
*13.) LET'S DANCE*
14.) David Bowie (1967)

*18.) TONIGHT*
@Copeland I love Spade Oddity. It motivated me to keep going and not commit toaster bath. Thank you Darrel Bower 🫵❤️
Labyrinth wipes debut
Where's the 90's Bowie video?
Labyrinth under the debut? that's crazy
Never let me down is truly one of the David Bowie albums of all time
Definitely one of the albums made in the 80's
It is definitely absolutely, unequivocally, unquestionably one of the David Bowie albums of all time!
Scary Monsters is my favorite album of all time and it's nice seeing it at the top of the list
It is unbelievable good, and as great as Low, Heroes and Lodger (VERY underrated).
Tonight is far better than Never Let Me Down in my eyes. Loving The Alien and Blue Jean are both fantastic songs.
Never Let Me Down is his most underrated album. Tonight only has 3 good songs
Definitely! And his cover of God Only Knows (the greatest song ever written) is actually really great! Never Let Me Down (except for possibly the title track) is just awful. Terrible production, an embarrassing tour for it, and fucking Peter Frampton on guitar? C’mon. That’s a huge step down from Robert Fripp and even Mick Ronson.
@@JCStorm76I’d much rather listen to Tonight. I swear, some people are just too obsessed with hollow superficial big 80s sound to be objective here.
@@curly_wyn You can have it
Loving the Alien is Chris Nolans favourite Bowie song
Bowie and Sparks are my two favorite artists of the 20th century and I’m so grateful for the crossover trivia, thank you Mister Watermelon
Bowie AND Sparks! You might just be my favorite human right now.
5. _Tin Machine_ - underrated in spots
4. _Never Let Me Down_ - guilty pleasure, the title track is class. The 2018 _NLMD_ remix album is an intriguing improvement.
3. _Tonight_ - "Don't Look Down" & "Loving The Alien" are two of Bowie's best '80s tracks (the rest of the album is naff)
2. _Scary Monsters_ - the New Wave album - Side One 9/10, Side Two 4/10
1. _Let's Dance_ - greatest album of the early '80s. Perfection.
what about blue jean?!
also Thriller would like to have a word with you for best album of the early 80s
Srly how you don't have more subscribers
Bavid Dowie
This channel deserves so much more attention and love
Hi! Looove your videos!!! Your editing is hilarious and great and your format is exceptionally entertaining! You are without a doubt one of my favorite RUclipsrs! I was wondering if you would consider doing Bob Dylan and/or Patti Smith in the near future…. 😁
Love from Greece!
please do the 90s and 2000s bowie combiand
Thanks for mentioning Sparks. Been a big fan of Sparks since 2015.
They are 100% my favorite band of all time.
Scary monsters is good from beginning to end. In my opinion.
You forgot Tin Machine. It's at least as legitimate a Bowie album as the Labyrinth soundtrack. And way better than Tonight or NLMD.
We need a new episode
Sweet. How's the Ringo dating simulator coming along though, hmm?
let's fucking go for 90s next
also honestly the 2018 NLMD Mix is honestly terrible, so much so that it made me actually appriciate the original album more
Oh damn. I’ll compare them more. I may have set my opinion too quick for NLMD and the two mixes
@@TheWaterlooWatermelon
Oh damn didn't think you would respond, legend
In all honesty it's fine to like the 2018 mix but I feel like that the choices they made where so bizarre and made the whole album a lot more spineless and have far more punch. Bang Bang for example is one of my favourite songs on NLMD and for whatever reason they water it down and replace all the synths with strings and it becomes a sooo tacky and way less fun. NLMD has become a bit of a guilty pleasure for me for the sole reason it's so dated it becomes funny and ironically good but The mix takes itself sooo seriously, removes and replaces any quirky synths from the original
Anyway sorry for the essay I love the content man cant wait for the 90s albums next
Where would you place the 80's albums against the 60's and 70's
1.) Ziggy Stardust
2.) Low
3.) Hunky Dory
4.) Heroes
5.) Station to Station
6.) Alladin Sane
7.) Lodger
*8.) SCARY MONSTERS (AND SUPER CREEPS)*
9.) The Man Who Sold The World
10.) Diamond Dogs
11.) Young Americans
12.) Spade Oddity
*13.) LET'S DANCE*
14.) David Bowie (1967)
15.) Pin Ups
*16.) LABYRINTH SOUNDTRACK*
*17.) NEVER LET ME DOWN*
*18.) TONIGHT*
@@TheWaterlooWatermelon Like the only good album from the 80's is scary monsters... damn
Could you do a video/videos about Iggy Pop's music? His stooges albums, The Idiot, Lust for Life, Post Pop Depression and Free are his best works they're truly impeccable. New Values,Brick by Brick,American Caesar, Skull Ring and Kill City are very good as well
Blah Blah Blah is overlooked and a good record so is Après, Preliminaires not half bad as well. His 80s period is , Zombie Birdhouse is a failure but an ambitious effort. Iggy just tried so much more than what he is known for and has some good albums up his sleeve while others are sadly flops
i dont know why, but i actually somewhat enjoyed tonight. i couldnt tell you why, but i did, id prolly put it above never let me down
Is there gonna be a follow up?
Where's the ranking video for David Bowie's 90s album's
Van Morrison album ranking would be incredible
now do the sparks one🙂
Never Let Me Down- 1/10
Labyrinth- 2/10
Tonight- 5/10
Let's Dance- 6/10
Scary Monsters- 9/10
1/10 is insane. It’s a 7 easy. Let’s Dance is an 8 or 9. Just compare these albums to other albums of that time
@@JCStorm76 Only Michael Jackson was giving the fight.
I agree, except Scary Monsters is 10/10 for me; my favorite Bowie album!
@@JCStorm76You must be drunk or high off your ass, dude! It’s definitely a 1/10; you’re just too obsessed with the hollow, superficial big 80s sound to be objective here. ;)
@@curly_wyn Scary monsters is 15/10, the best album from the 80's and only comparable to the Berlin trilogy
bowierific
Can’t believe dancing in the street wasn’t at the top 😡 /joke
pleaes finish this series please i beg of you it has filled me with life i love david bowie i must see your takes on black tie white noise buddha of suburbia 1. outside earthling hours... heathen reality the next day and blackstar please i beg of you please i will subscribe to your channel if you make the next videeo please
Sad we only have 3 decades left :'/
Scary Monsters is the second best 70s album, just below Aladdin Sane
How would you list them
1.) Ziggy Stardust
2.) Low
3.) Hunky Dory
4.) Heroes
5.) Station to Station
6.) Alladin Sane
7.) Lodger
*8.) SCARY MONSTERS (AND SUPER CREEPS)*
9.) The Man Who Sold The World
10.) Diamond Dogs
11.) Young Americans
12.) Spade Oddity
*13.) LET'S DANCE*
14.) David Bowie (1967)
15.) Pin Ups
*16.) LABYRINTH SOUNDTRACK*
*17.) NEVER LET ME DOWN*
*18.) TONIGHT*
I disagree with Sam but OK
"four crazy number one hit singles"..... hahaha 'without you' 🤔😅
You don't count TIN MACHINE! TIN MACHINE! TIN MACHINE! TIN MACHINE! DOOBY DOOBY DOOBY DOOBY TIN MACHINE! TIN MACHINE! As an 80s Bowie album?
80s Bowie is the definition of a boomer
DO A SPARKS VIDEO PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I would love to! I have to do more popular artists for a bit to grow a bigger fan base I think, but I’m hoping to do one in early 2023. :)
@@TheWaterlooWatermelon Totally get ya. I'm a big Beach Boys fan too and I loved the worst songs vid. Maybe a video on undiscovered Beach Boys gems (especially from the post Pet Sounds, pre 80s output) would get lots of views? Cause you deserve millions of followers man, this is great stuff!
@@NinerFan I'm secretly working on a Beach Boys albums ranked video right now. It's taking a long time because it's 30 albums (so I'm working on it in the background), but I'm hoping it will be out by the end of next month. Sparks & The Beach Boys are my two most listened artists on last.fm. :)
@@TheWaterlooWatermelon Hell yesssssssss! I can't wait. Such an incredible discography. Discovering Today!, Wild Honey and Friends literally changed my perspective on music.
As for Sparks, Number 1 in Heaven and Terminal Jive are just audio gold 🔥 Amazing stuff
