- Hi All. Trying to get this amazing sequenced bass line under my fingers from the 1980’s a great song. It is a long song and hard to play right.

I would love to totally redo this track from scratch myself one day.
Just trying to get it. The life long journey never ends. I’m not into editing music takes I like to play them from start to finish.

Genius bass playing The pleasure dome Two Tribes Nd Relax all have a superb BASS rhythm especially 2 Tribes i think, I was 15 when FGTH first came on the scene absolutely loved Holly Johnson
I'm only fifteen so this music is a bit before my time. I think it's incredible that the internet has managed to make the classics as accesible as possible to everyone and united young and old in celebration of them. Keep it up!

@@MrCrrispy Not quite everything.... John Jeczalik, Andy Richards and Steve Lipson were also key personnel with this album as well.Lipson's guitar playing is all over this album.

@@MrCrrispyThat is Mark O’ Toole’s baseline, same as Two Tribes. ZTT just like to make people think it was all theirs. Listen to the pre-ZTT demos, it’s all there.

Fantastic! I will never forget hearing Frankie perform this live in Los Angeles. The bass part was turned way up and the entire theater was vibrating. It was really powerful! Great album from Frankie with a lot of hits, but this first track was always my favorite. I think you really convey the vibe here. Thanks for posting!

Ace playing! I saw WTTPD performed live in 2004 at the Princes Trust concert, performed by Trevor Horn & Co at Wembley Arena. It was a sensational performance of a pretty epic piece of music. The Frankie set ended the evening and without doubt was the most accomplished.

i saw FGTH play live in 85 and 87, an avid Frankie fan.. i still listen to their music to this day, 40 yrs on and there is still nothing better than WTTP..
The fact they O'Toole would play this without looking at his fingers was incredible
He doesn't get half the respect he deserves. I remember a fellow bassist telling me it was electronic, I had great pleasure in showing him O'Toole playing it live.

Enjoyed the vid. Great performance. Looking at live performances of Mark he really is excellent. I remember when there was a massive media frisson here in the UK about Frankie in 1984. Trevor's production was epic. I love it when pop music references the high-brow: in this case Samuel Taylor Colleridge's epic poem Kubla Khan. Cheers!

Can’t help but feel the reasons for such great bass lines on the FGH tracks is Trevor Horn. Would love you do do a cover of Grace Jones, Slave to the rhythm. Watched Trevor’s Horn’s live version of this and realised how great a bass player he is.
It's a great fun bass line to play. A lot more practice for me to get anywhere close to those master musicians. I love Trevor Horns work & the Drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare with grace jones is another lifetime of learning. Thank you for your comment. Hello Max, lovely clean base lines. FGTH has a lot of memories for me from the 80s when in my 20s. Would be fascinating to see your take on djent metalcore band, Erra, and the stunning bass on "Blue Reverie".
I played WTTPD during all long a trip by car in TRANSFAGARASAN, in Romenia. No other one could have given me better vibe.
