"Asspen" is the second episode of the sixth season and the 81st overall episode of the American animated television series South Park. Going by production order, it is the 3rd episode of Season 6 instead of the 2nd episode. It first aired on Comedy Central in the United States on March 13, 2002. In the episode, the boys go on vacation at Aspen, Colorado, where Stan is repeatedly tormented by an older skier named Tad. Meanwhile, the boys' parents become stuck at a meeting as two salesmen attempt to coax them into purchasing timeshare property.

Yes, Aspen is a _very_ wealthy area. Most homes there are owned by rich people who only go there during winter. Most staff don't live in the area, they come in from out of town.

This episode was before the Critter and Stanley Cup episode.

The old dude you saw the talked about the mountain was a parody of the old guy from a movie called Pet Cemetery from the 80s. Actually there were many 80s references in this episode.
The old man is a reference from the original movie of Stephen King's Pet Sematary.
the guys who wrote that song butters was dancing to; rented the half house above me for months.
The comment about Hippies having money is pretty astute. I grew up skiing and there are pretty much two factions of elite skiers: the Freestyle guys like the instructor are all “counter culture” and do hippy things. The Racers are the preps like Thad. But they all have money more or less.

Yea Aspen to most Americans is viewed as unobtainable outside visiting due to how expensive homes are. It's a completely rich only community as far as I'm aware.

Modern South Park is not bad but I miss when the majority of episodes were about dumb fun and parodies rather than social commentary on current events.
