In the episode, the other boys begin ignoring Cartman, leading to him concluding that he must be a ghost. Cartman tries to get into heaven by doing "good deeds", but fails in the end.

Kenny's reaction is by far what makes this the worst thing Cartman has ever done, even beyond killing Scott Tenorman's parents or giving Kyle HIV. Kenny's family is so poor, they can only afford to eat pop tarts and frozen waffles. This was probably the first real meal Kenny would have had in MONTHS. And Cartman just takes it away from him... poor Kenny. (no pun intended)
Right
I was going to write this comment. Kenny crying destroys me. Most of the stuff Eric does is over the top and cartoonish but this was just so real - Kenny never gets anything and, the second he does, his 'friend' screws him over without even thinking about it. Eric's done much worse things but this one somehow manages to hurt the most. Matt and Trey are absolute geniuses 😢
i would rather not have good meals then having to suffer my parents deaths
worse than trying to exterminate the Jews 100%
If Pop Tarts and Eggo waffles(with butter and maple syrup of course) provided all the nutrients my body needed to stay strong and healthy, I'd HAPPILY eat them every single day. And order some takeout once in a while when I got bored.
According to interviews I listened to, apparently they wrote/animated most of the episode first without having come up with what horrible thing Cartman did to cause the other boys ignoring him. Then finally all the staff at South Park studios got KFC for lunch and somebody there asked "what if somebody just came and took the skin off every piece of chicken?"
To which everybody agreed "that's it!!"
It’s such a dumb reason lol
@@Azurethewolf168 but it's so like Cartman. Nobody else can be this unscrupulous.
@@formdusktilldeath yeah
@@Azurethewolf168that’s why it’s funny. If it was actually something worse then what cartmen has already done it wouldn’t have been funny it just would have added shock value
@@barbariangamin5136 yeah
Butters: “Did you ever do anything really bad”
Cartman: “Not really”…
The movie Butters is referencing is "The Sixth Sense", Cartman having a chain is a ghost trope that dates back to at least A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, one of the ghosts that visits Scrooge has a chain that he "forged in life", I believe that is the reference for the reason for the chain.
Not to forget the mental institue scene (or at least the start) was lifted from "The Exorcist"
It's older than Dickens, A Christmas Carol even has Scrooge worry that the chains he hears is a ghost because he's heard that ghosts drag chains around.
The nicely packed flowers with fruits is known (at least in the USA) as a Gift Basket. It usually includes fruits, flowers, maybe candles or fruit jam or other canned or jarred household items. You can buy them pre-made and pre-catered, or you can buy the items and the basket and make it yourself, as Cartman did here. Gift Baskets are usually considered classy gifts.
Despite everything cartman has done. Eating all the skin of the KFC chicken was where he crossed the line. 😂
The worst part is that because Kenny's family is poor this was probably the only chance that year for him to have colonel, which explains the crying when it was ruined.
@djdomain
Exactly, I just felt so bad for kenny. I hated watching him crying. 😟
i've been waiting months now for you to cover this episode only to see your reaction of liane 'crying' over the death of cartman and you delivered!
It's the 14 hours of testing that gets me every time....😅
Whatever traumatised your son, we'll find it!
They should have done another hour just to be safe
@@Tolyethe real tragedy is… they never do find out. They’ll never know what could have traumatized him!
@@83gemm yeah sometimes they miss things completely.
So doctors do this test three times just to be safe.
The chain is a reference to "A Christmas Carol", by Charles Dickens. In the novel, the ghost of Jacob Marley haunts Ebeneezer Scrooge by rattling the chains that are imprisoning him, because he was a dick in his life.
7:27
I believe it is a reference to The Sixth Sense.
Notice that the gravestones of Scott's parents read that they died in 2003. That's wrong. The Scott Tenorman episode was in 2001.
God… I’m OLD.
I love how cartman did, once again the right thing… for the WRONG REASONS
i gotta say, I love the episode and I love how they reminded us of Scott Tenormann😂😂
You know NOTHING about gaslighting until you watch “grounded Vindaloop” (I wrote wrong during the stream) S18 E7.
Ps: Insheeption 🫡
I love this episode. 1 Cartman made Kenny cry, like goddamn. 2 JFC poor Butters in this episode 😂😂😂.
there's a line in the okama gamesphere episode "dude cartman's in there punishing my toilet" "that poor, poor thing"
"Ignoring him wasn't an option?"
Like they ain’t as fuked themselves
hahaha I remember this chapter, the one who suffered the most was Butters, and I saw the scene with the anal probe in my computer classes with a friend and we laughed until the teacher almost caught our attention.
Also the thing about Cartam's mom was funny.
😆😆😆

Nothing in particular. Just in sometime ghosts showed with chains, like a symbol of being stuck on the Earth after death.
When Butters says im just like the boy in that movie he is talking abouth 6th Sense a pretty good and very popular movie where the kid says "I see dead people"
My favorite episode! Glad you appreciated it 🎉
16:26 Fun fact: That purple doll in this scene bares a resemblance to Nibblet from Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery.
Oh man, I somehow forgot about this episode even though it's one of my favorites.
it shows how stupid Cartman and Butters are. It is very funny.
Great video reacting to one of the best episodes
why wasn't butters at school?
Coz he’s grounded mister!!
The only ghost I know of that had chains was the ghost of Jacob Marley in Charles Dicken's "a Christmas Carol". He had to roam the earth and wear long chains because of the evil deeds he did while he was alive. And when he dragged them and shook them they were spooky.
Hilarious episode. Ignoring is warranted as the skin is what adds flavor to the KFC chicken. He came just to eat the skin.
I would be pissed at Cartman as well.
And poor innocent, gullible and naive Butters....
At least he didn't drink all the gravy
chains was from Canterville Ghost :D
armed only with the weapon of confusion
It's so weird how Butters' dad has had the name Steven AND Chris.
I assume one of those is his name at the White Swallow and at some point, he just got them confused.
@@83gemm No. In the show they literally have him with two different names.
@@83gemm This episode had him with the name stephen and butter's very unepisode is chris
@@mangersavoir4213 No, dude, I know. I was making a joke about why he decided to change it.
@@83gemm ok
Sliding into the pit of Cartman's dumbassery can be really difficult to avoid sometimes... like, I was about to give him props for (at least) respecting boundaries by never once touching any of them in his "ghost" state- until I noticed that not only did he shake Clyde at the playground, he even placed his hand on Butters' shoulder during his farewell tour 😂🤣🤣 what a turd.
Мог бы порекомендовать эпизод "Война миров: Цимерман". Отличный эпизод, как по мне, но реакции на него делают редко.
RIP, Cartman's toilet.
Thanks for reacting to the death of Eric cartman!
Love this episode!!!!!
20:05 i thought that was a gypsy. Idk I'm american. Do you not have any powers?
In regards to the opening montage, Toli do you have anything to declare?
Not sure about the chains maybe it’s a reference to a Christmas Carol when Jake up in Marley die they’re in chains
Amazing reaction. I was trying to remember which episode it was where Eric ate Kenny's chicken skins - I teared up the first time I saw that 😢Poor Kenny ❤ As someone else said, the ghost chains are probably from A Christmas Carol - you probably know it but it's an awesome story with lots of great film adaptations. Cheers Anatoly xxx
Butters taking that giant probe is one of the best moments in the entire show lol
Poor Butters 😂😂
Yeah even thinking back to Scott Tenorman or giving Kyle aids, this is still the worst thing he's done ever. 🤣
1:12 I must say, they got off easy - when we were kids, Mum made us put away each individual item.
By the way, I just captured a snip of you saying, "How deep is it supposed to go". I'm going to play it later when I'm....thinking...about you, Toli :)
Loo Loo Loo!
Oh hamburgers
This episode is exactly why I believe public shunning should come back as an accepted form of punishment.
Is this where the term "ghosting" came from?
It looks like this South Park episode tried to rip off the “Ghost” movie with Patrick Swayze. 😂
Love reactions as always!
Watch the South Park Documentary, 7 Days to Air!
I just started watching this but I'm sensing a lot of village priest jokes for this episode.
BTW, LOVE the shirt! Amon Amarth RULES! 🤘🤘🤘
Super aids is real….
This was so funny I love your reaction.
I dont think sally struthers deserves a gift besket
Poor Butters
I recommend butterballs from season 16
Butters is used by Eric a lot, but at least he is getting interaction which is more than can be said from Stan/Kyle/Kenny who just ignore or dump on him all the time.
You can't really blame Butters parents too much here, they went to what they thought was a knowledgeable professional and are following directions what they are told will help their son. They are not doing it to terrorize him. They really feel Butters is going insane with how they have no context of everything that is happening.
To be fair if I was Butters I’d be much more fond of people who just leave me be and mind their own business than someone who’s constantly pulling pranks on me.
I know a guy who got super herpes from his wife. He's the half owner of a video game store in Mesa.
You NEED to watch Season 12 Episode 8 "The China Problem", it takes place following the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and it will break you.
I’m so confused, though - I thought you *weren’t* supposed to ignore the bully, because that just makes you look submissive?
Great episode!
I love Cartman’s song
4:18 Not gonna lie, it’s pretty b@££$¥ for you to actually show it on RUclips - I’m too scared to even write “b@££$¥” in the proper letters.
Butters about to get probed, I was telling him, “Be brave, Butters. Be brave.”
