100% agree with everything you said re: old toys. The Mego superhero’s were EVERYTHING to me!!! I had them all and it was a big deal!! Loved this stuff. Don’t collect them but still have a few figures stored away in boxes along with my Star Wars figurines in the attic. Anyway, nice painting. Thanks for the memories!

Oh, I'm a bit late, but I really wanted to say that you're so talented and I look up on you. And I ain't sure why but your videos are so calming, so peaceful and just watching them and listening to your voice improves my mood:)
I still have my childhood toys as well, and you're right, they remind a lot of things, and you almost feel like a kid again. Like, you know, they're not just toys

Love the toys. I guess I mostly played with Barbie and Ken. I also pretended to have a horse"Fury" if you remember the Saturday am show, and kept him in our garage. Lol Ah those were the days.

    Hey, Brian,
I really enjoyed this video. All the toys you got, my friend had them back in the 70s; from Evel Knievel to Fonzi and of course to Batman/Robin including the bat mobile. The painting turned out great. They actually looks like the toys they are but little creepier. They look like they are about to come to life. :D Again, great job! Till your next video, take care. ~NammaN~

Loved the concept, and watching technique was really enjoyable. Time to dig out the box of old toys saved to use as models at some future date!

Hi Brian, I really enjoyed this video! I feel the same way with childhood toys, it's the memories associated with the toys that bring back happy carefree memories. I've started with my piece, almost done with the initial sketch! Thinking of using gouache instead of the usual watercolor. Excited to start on it but had to pause because, life and chores. :D

A tough subject, definitely difficult to represent a plastic toy, well done.

    Hey Brian,
Great seeing you again...well hearing your voice and seeing your very talented hands anyway...LoL
Two great comic super heroes to pick from out your amazing collection !
The sketch turned out very well and the colors really brought them to life and probably my favorite era of the Batman legend is from the 60’s which I still watch to this day. POW! * BAM! * BOOM! One of my favorite toys growing up was an etch-a-sketch which I rarely went anywhere without it since I always loved to draw and sketch.
Nice job Brian! you definitely reached your goal of making them look like plastic toys and not a random drawing of the characters. If I didn’t need years of practice I may have taken you up on your offer to sketch a favorite toy of mine from Back In The Day.
Take care buddy and enjoy your weekend! ~~Jeff

I like old toys, too. But mine are troll dolls. And I like the McDonalds toys, which I still get with my small hamburger meals.

stop down grading your efforts! it does look like a toy! wonderful I like real time better slow drawing and thanks for chatter instead of music. I made batman costumes for my sons I have five sons and three daughters all played with figures! All generations have loosely defined toys! My grand kids have superhero toys. An artist or creative person must have tactile connections for the brain to navigate memories. I loved batman myself hence making sewing costume. I played with a tony doll but I was vicious and cut out paper dolls and crocheted pre barbie clothes it was obvious art and fashion was my love. Then 8 babies and a life time of creativity I had my babies in my thirties! so i had plenty of time to do many things work play paint. I would have been great to go to art school to learn techniques instead of just random classes.
