    Sorry about the meaningless, extended ending. I didn’t realize it hadn’t cut off after the video ended.

    Oh man! LOL! I chuckled all the way through the opening. LOVED all the movie fun facts. Such a fun video and really got me in the Halloween Spirit. Not to mention the final piece was fantastic. And I'm with Jared... when you brought up Young Frankenstein, I immediately thought, "its pronounced Fraunk-un-shteen!"

    I loved watching this! Your painting is wonderful. Your props are great and I love how you "decorated" your hands - or are you really a monster lol? I'm a big fan of the old monster movies, any chance on doing a Vincent Price? Thanks for the Boris Karloff trivia! He was great as The Mummy too. Love Young Frankenstein too (Froderick!) :) Could I use acrylic since I don't have gouache? I'm going to follow your tutorial. Thanks so much! (I should add more exclamation marks!)

    You know it’s not such a bad idea to add some plastic spiders to the water to help better clean your brush!!!
    Crazy!! The moment you painted the nose shadow just over halfway through the painting, it’s was crazy the painting almost flickered and I saw it all come together and in slow motion saw it pass the ugly duckling stage. I’ve never experienced that before. So cool.

    OMG! ! I laughed through the opening of your vid! Imagine my surprise when the monster that started the drawing was you. HUH! Lol, I was going to be super impressed if you did that whole drawing holding your pencil the way you started out! Great vid Brian... and now the rest of us ArtTubers have gone out and signed up for acting classes if we're going to be able to compete with you. Bravo Bro!

As for the artwork, I just love your attack with the colors and the brush. The confidence and command you have is just fantastic. Worthy of envy, but only the good kind! Cheers! :)

    It came as a surprise to learn Boris was or had Indian background but it makes sense when you look at his features. Not American Indian Indian India Indian. Are you both a mechanical engineer working to improve upon your carry-all as well as a method actor???? Boris was a gentleman according to documentaries! I liked him and he was grateful for his Frankenstein role. I loved them too. All those old movies held my attention. It was controversial especially the part where he threw the little girl in the pond or lake. They revised it to make him more human. The character he played did not define him as a man.

    Had to watch again, since you said why there may not be anymore. I was thinking that fake Brian Ashmore tattoos might be good on your hands. As much as hands move during painting that might be hard for someone to cover up. Then a background with your name all over it might be fun.. May look weird in the spring and summer but it could be fun in the fall... Take care and I hope the spiders recovered..

      Seriously this is exactly what I'm looking for. I've been water coloring for a year now and I don't need ultra basic stuff. At the same time, you have some other people's videos where they just glance over some techniques or don't show the process. This was a great video on showing how to work in tonal values and glazing! Learned a bunch.

    I thought Legosi couldn't take the heavy costume because of his back troubles. I would like to think that was more the problem, as he was a consummate actor and probably would of brought something unique to the role. Sorry! Old horror movie fan here too.

    • @brianashmorestudio
      @brianashmorestudio  6 лет назад

      gardener Could be! It was a long time ago and memories can get fuzzy. I was listening to the audio commentary track on the original movie, a couple of days ago, and he stated that Lugosi (although brilliant) insisted on contributing to the look and it was something really hairy-looking with an over-sized head. I guess the look just wasn’t good. That’s what the commentary said got him pulled from the film. Who knows, tho? Stories tend to “evolve” over time. 😂 Thanks for commenting. This makes we want to go watch a later one when Lugosi played the monster. 😊👍
