Awesome! Great to see you in this challenge too Brian. I love the lively color in these shadows. Very dynamic. Only 29 more to go. Off to do another one myself. 😁
I really enjoy listening to why you make the choices that you do within the painting. I think that is something that is often overlooked in videos like this. Looking forward to the next one.
This is an interesting challenge. I've never done direct painting before, but I always love to watch people do it to watch the page go from nothing to a painting layer by layer. I might give it a try when my teachers stop making me take tests.
Now i wanna do this challenge too. But imma do it in july cuz i havent even receive my first watercolor set yet. And i wanna get used to it since imma 13 year old beginner. I also cant believe you painted the bison with no sketching and went straight in with the color 😪❤❤❤ AMAZING😍😍😍❤❤
Abigail Adebisi Thank you, Abigail! 13 is a great age to start!! ... and, yes, it would be great to do the challenge, even in July. It's always good to push yourself. 👍
Very interesting to take on a challenge never thought of having a go at such a wonderful bison. Polar bears any types of hairy animals that gave me an advantage. Unfortunately, I have to start again while out my dear wife framed ready for putting up not realising it was going be for my collection. Ok watching again in my other studio where I know it will be safe. Thank you, Brian.
Hello... wow... I just found you accidentally. And yes, I am curious about your artworks. I am so stunned to see you talked about glazing techniques, Batman illustration and watercoloring, also the story about your professor in art and training. I am so happy to find your channel, Mr. I wish to know more about your guidance and watercoloring with commentary. I just love it 🙏 greet from Indonesia, and I am also following the days of 30x30 direct watercolor.
Widyarin Kusumaningtyas Thank you so much, Widyarin!! I’ll be glad when the 30x30 challenge is over. Ha, ha. Thanks so much for watching and your thoughtful comment!
Stunning painting! I have also started the challenge but have just realised my current painting was drawn first lol oh well next one I will try to just paint without drawing first.
THEMAYQUEEN1 Glad to hear that you are doing it, too! It's really tough to NOT do a drawing in pencil, first. I'm learning a lot just in these first few days of the challenge by painting directly.
Wow, this was great, maybe you will have your own book for us to enjoy one day. Will look for you on instagram. Hope to see more. You take care to. Essie/luv4art33.
This is the best part of the internet: Learning from some of the most amazing artists. Thank you so much!
Really great video. Just watched days of Watercolor videos and this was one of the best real artist working stuff out videos I have seen
That’s amazing work my friend thanks for sharing trying to watch them all lol

Impressed with how you captured this bison could easily just get up... great watching how you achieved this...
Lindy Ashford Thanks very much, Lindy!
Amazing! I'm blown away!
Amazing how you go from plain page to beautiful bison with a flick of a brush. Who knew you didn't need a pencil.
Tina Reul I need my pencil! Ha, ha! Actually, its been pretty fun working this way this past 5 days of the challenge.

Simon Reese This is totally new to me, too, but it’s actually more fun than I thought it would be. Good luck with your tests!!

Beautiful photo-realistic style!
Arun Dabholkar Thanks so much!
Really nice work Brian. You definitely should do more straight water color
Thanks, Anthony!

Stunning!
Wonderful!
which holbein palette is that?
Airbugg That’s the Holbein 250... a steel, enameled palette. I did a review on it recently...

Very nicely done, but I wanted to smack your hand at the 16:48 mark and say “LEAVE THE HEAD ALONE!” damn it.
Tony Stencel Ha ha ha!! I must have been pushing things just a little too far!
