I so used to look forward to his appearances as a young person, you're right to say I grew up watching him too. It was just a joy to sit down and forget everything and listen to that calm voice that could suddenly erupt and almost instantly revert back to a bedtime story softness. Genius
Dead right. We thought we'd kicked the mad bastards out and sent them off to the "New World" (a disease and savage-infested jungle) in 1620. But then they started the genocidal English Civil War in 1642 - and they cut the king's head off in '49! Nightmare.
Yes they were probably called " Self-rightous prics go lose yourselves in the New world! - and stop lecturing us, you over-bearing bible bashers!"🤪😠😡as they sailed from Plymouth🤣😁🇬🇧
Dave Allen an extremely underated comedic genius. As a kid I couldn't wait to sit down with my dad and cry with laughter at the Dave Allen show. Then my mum introduced me to Billy Connolly's humour. No wonder people frown when I do terrible impressions of either 😁
YOU live in the land of the FEE and YT is a US based corp. I think its quite fascist about the English language as if its a soley American language rather than an appropriated one. The UK has a more open mind on swearing, while the US is still in the 19th Century censoring- set. Certain English words which are not profanity are not allowed on YT because they have a different meaning in the US. Imperialism is not dead it seems.
He had used a naughty word in a previous show and there were complaints, so in this episode he used as many rude words as he could. The end reference was him acknowledging the uproar that was to come.
This programe is the week after dave got bollocked by the authorities for using precieved by them foul words so you can see he got a few bugger me words into his routine, he was actually sticking two fingers up at the media athorities, what a great man he was 🤣🤣👍
Boomer, if people are telling you to stop pausing the videos, tell them to shut up, the whole point of your pausing the videos to give your reaction is the whole bloody point, it's called giving your reaction to these videos! 😎🏹🙏
Naughty words exist for a reason it is part of language as a whole and in fact they relieve pain... Some are stronger than others but sometimes we need this part of our language to communicate what is happening. That is why we speak because it diffuses a situation. I was a teacher for 31 years and lots of parents and students used certain words but it will calm things down and allow a social communication.
Note Brian Blessed up to his elbows in a bucket of ice - swearing naturally - in an experiment just to see how much longer he could keep them submerged by swearing!
Let's go Boomer 😁 Where RUclips is concerned... Unfortunately this is the way the world is becoming.. And with RUclips it's not a surprise.. 1. Can't curse because it offends the minority 2. Can't see dislikes because it offends the minority 3. As for the money side.. We all know what happens when money is involved.. From monetising to the never ending ads etc Just keep doing what you can do.. We will watch nonetheless
Exactly. RUclips banned me for calling someone a three letter word. As she was the size of a Boeing plane, I thought my description was perfectly valid.!!
I have just found your channel, I love it. Dave Allen was considered to be quite shocking but was still aired on the BBC in the 80's, Possibly the best, nicest and most honest comedian ever. I have watched all his videos and can watch them all over again and still laugh. Try to find some of his earlier stuff, on stage with a cigarette and a drink..... or was it just water? Who knows? Look for the joke about his missing finger, it's a winner. Keep up the great work with these videos and may your god go with you.
Interesting what you say about British, Irish and Aussie actors doing well (usually) with US accents. Far and away the best Brit accents I've ever heard played by American actors are to be found in This is Spinal Tap. As A Brit, I can say that my friends and I, who were teenagers when that film came out, all assumed they were Brits. When you've grown expecting Dick Van Dyke soundalikes whenever Americans tried to do British accents, that's impressive! There's been some good ones since of course, but that example stays in the mind.
Another good one, that I didn't know wasn't British at first, was James Marsters, who plays Spike in Buffy. After hearing his British accent for so long, now when I hear him in his natural accent, it sounds to me like, he's putting on a bad fake American accent!
Took the words out of my mouth... when you said about Brits doing american accents; the first person that came to mind was Idris Elba, i had seen him in a British show before i watched the wire but that accent he does in the wire is very believable
King Boomer, your laughter is a great way to start my day off out here on the west coast. Actors usually work with language coaches for months to perfect the accent required. Love Idris Elba. Dave Allen was so great when I was groowing up. Another taken way too soon.
I remember that. There were nearly 100 complaints about it and every newspaper had written about it. We were laughing at these people indignation. Don't like it, don't watch it. This was our motto.
Glad you found Dave, he had a weekly show on TV when I was a kid he was so funny, I love his stuff, he doesn't need to swear or carry on and he is hilarious
At last I have came across someone with a similar warped sense of humour as mine - pleased to meet you King Boomer. Dave Allen, what can be said of this man - genius, in the sense of his humour and observations of people and religion - I really loved him. I remember watching him with my daddy, and my daddy would laugh so much at him - I would laugh so much at my daddy laughing just watching Dave Allen. This man is so sadly missed in this bloody grey, take our selves to serious and just depressing world we live in today. So glad I came across your channel..
I've got a 10 year old nephew who always asks me to do different accents, northern Irish, southern Irish, glaswegian, Russian, southern American, new York, and some really weird ones. He absolutely pisses himself laughing. Although there's some American actors who do great accents. I think the best one I've heard is brad Pitt doing an Irish travellers accent which is very unique and different to average irish. He nailed it. Angelina Jolie as lara Croft was really good.
Hey Boomer....yer muppet ! Greetings from a fellow muppet across the pond. Your channel, your rules.... I love your pauses for opinions, rants, discussions etc.... don't stop them, it's called healthy dialogue. Shame about YT and the cussin' ....happens everyday in the real world. Long live King Boomer oh, and of course the delightful Lady Boomer.
OMG you are so spot on, I've loved Dave and George for years and never made that connection. Yeah back in the day Dave had to play nice due to the restrictions, and his style was never really blue anyway, Whilst George Carlin was a rebel, but they are so similar.
The UK has had so many international influences by far the most is from the US over the past century. We also have a massive intermix of Irish, Caribbean Indian and so many others in a far shorter time than the US did so it comes across in humour, drama, and I hope it continues.
I recall a chat show appearance by Idris Elba where he stated that when approached by fans in the USA he reused his accent from The Wire so as not to shock and confuse them.
I think you should do a compilation of the bits that result in your reaction being that you get thrown out of your own chair (and even off screen) by what you`re watching (as at about 04:22)!
You go to some reaction channels for the lovely, warm sense of cultural affirmation that you get from an American laughing at things you used to love (and, of course, because you are desperate for cultural affirmation because you're British, like me). But you come to this channel for the full-powered, pure belly laughs from people who really are enjoying themselves. That's a special pleasure in itself - but also culturally affirming! Nice 😉
They're trying to create a Hollywood fairytale world where everything is a perfect lie. Dave Allen, the absolute "Dogs Bollocks" mate. Swearing, who swears?, that's complete and utter bollocks. 🤣😂
I love your reacctions !! have you seen his old stuff? like the series called at large, or the series that he did in Australia? he was a lovely man, and very very funny !! the sketches that he does about the church are amazing, the one that he is dressed as a priest asking who farted is great
re: accents, we have so many accents in the UK, and they are so different, so American accents are just more to add to the mix for actors. Some Americans seem to think there's only one English accent, and that applies to the whole of the UK (except maybe Scotland)
🇬🇧 btw, have you ever heard people who in the middle of hysterical laughter & let one rip & it comes out in synch with their Guffaws of mirth like a laughing fart.. i love that I knew a very nice, well born lady of rather noble family connections, beautiful English cut glass accent, tall & willowy In her 60s at the time but had been incredibly beautiful in her youth & was still an amazingly good looking older Lady With a terrific sense of humour & with good & trusted friends with her, she could be persuaded to do her party piece This would be the to the accompanying well know song played on the record player ( yes some of us die hards still love vinyl) She would then stand, all 5ft 11ins & begin to fart in tune along with the record! I kid thee not, this is hand on heart true, her only display of travail was pumping her arms up & down whilst bent at the elbows as if she was running There was never any odour at all & there are people who can do this, its medically proven that some can control pressure of the sphincter muscles of the anus & by clenching them with minute guaged pressure & release can force out a tunefull .. fart There was a famous farter who did this on stage & took requests for farting to popular tunes & he was called Le Pettomane or Pettomaine i cant remember exact spelling but he was rather .marvellous this was in 1900s France btw Take care 🇬🇧👧
Us Brits have so many accents in the UK , we find it easy to impersonate other accents like American , we all grew up watching sesame street and so many American shows and movies 👍🏼
"The Irish George Carlin" - I think he would have liked that! His TV shows were sanatised to cut out the "bad language" of his live shows btw! :) Greetings from Ireland btw!
The director Bryan Singer certainly thought so, as did the executive producers although they were looking for a "quintessentially American person" to play the role of House.
Hi king. i love your reactions especialy when your caught unexpetedly and you jump out of your chair in laughter. please could you react to......billy connolly don't drink the water in ibiza. or collenoscopy thank you.
All the swear words were a result of Dave being told off for using just one on a previous show and the reference to Salmon Rushdi was a joke that he'd have to go into to hiding to avoid the BBC hierarchy.
If you love Dave Allen, I think you’d love Brendan O’Carroll as Agnes Brown in “Mrs. Brown’s Boys” and “All Round to Mrs. Brown’s”. Also other Irish Comedians such as Tommy Tiernan, Jason Byrne, Ed Byrne (I don’t think they’re related), Des Bishop and two others that are sadly no longer with us, Dermot Morgan in “Father Ted” and Brendan Grace. How could I forget, Foil, Arms and Hogg.🇮🇪😀
This Boomerang is a day late.; and I'm normally so regular, Soz. I call me old mate Mick 'Mucker' and he has many names for me. And one of them must be 'Shut the fuck up Janne'. Arhh! were the beard?
Concerning language I recommend The complete Oxford English Dictionary of over 50 volumes, then there is Middle English and Shakespeare and also Old English and Chaucer. One can pass comments without falling 'fowl' of second person plural in the pipe. Then there is Latin and Anglo-Saxon. Personally, I find a sense of the ridiculous keeps me calm and practically nothing upsets me.
Salman Rushti was an author who offended people with one of his books and received life threats. He went into hiding for quite awhile. After telling off from BBC and doing this program Dave jokingly expected the same treatment.
Really enjoy the reaction video's. Maybe check out Bob Monkhouse. He was quite well known for being able to come out with a joke or one liner off the cuff.
P.s I think the reason for non Americans being so good at doing your accents is down to the huge volume of entertainment the US has exported around the world.
Dave Allen was a legend. He was one of the few that got even better with age. The stuff he was doing at the end was pure genius
I grew up watching Dave Allen. He was 'alternative' before it became a 'thing' in UK comedy.
I also grew up with him. It was here in Denmark. My father and I, really had a good time when he was on. He was big here.
I so used to look forward to his appearances as a young person, you're right to say I grew up watching him too. It was just a joy to sit down and forget everything and listen to that calm voice that could suddenly erupt and almost instantly revert back to a bedtime story softness. Genius
There is still a very puritanical streak in America. There is a reason England was happy to see the Puritans leave.
🤣👍🤣
Dead right. We thought we'd kicked the mad bastards out and sent them off to the "New World" (a disease and savage-infested jungle) in 1620.

Yes, the folk with the squared-toed shoes kept trying to cancel Christmas....
And not come back…
He was truly a very very funny man even his sketches were brilliant loved the man 😂😂
Dave Allen RIP was indeed a great comedian. His monologues were amazing. Keep checking him out.
I always loved his ghost stories - engrossing and hilarious!
Absolutely loved Dave Allen. Me and my Dad who was Irish like Dave used to watch him when he made a TV comeback back in the early 90s.
Dave is a storytelling genius 👍❤🏴
Yes he was 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Dave Allen was a great comedian, but I forget just how good he was.
Brilliant man and a national treasure sadly missed
He wrote this show after he was criticized for his ''bad language'' this was his reply. That is why he referenced ''hiding out''.
Dave Allen an extremely underated comedic genius. As a kid I couldn't wait to sit down with my dad and cry with laughter at the Dave Allen show. Then my mum introduced me to Billy Connolly's humour. No wonder people frown when I do terrible impressions of either 😁
He wasnt underrated at all. He was appreciated all over tne English-speaking world.!!!!!
loved that guy too . I loved him as a child we idolised him he was so funny. Bring him back
Hi from England.
Just want to say I love your reactions to British comedy. You have respect and and an awesome sense of humour.
👍

No shit
Can’t swear, but everyone can own an assault rifle or three. Great values lol.
@@VFLPlus 🤣🥰🤣
He had used a naughty word in a previous show and there were complaints, so in this episode he used as many rude words as he could. The end reference was him acknowledging the uproar that was to come.
My late father loved Dave Allen.
Our ears are attuned to accents, as we have so many.
I hear alot say Hugh Laurie's American accent in House is one of the best ones
I'm British and for DECADES, I thought the musicians / actors in the band, Spinal Tap were English. They speak better English than me. :D
You might want to see Dave Allen teach his kid to tell the time. Damian Lewis did two blockbuster shows in US TV. Good accent.
The Irish, in particular, do an excellent American accent. They have very similar inflections and pronunciations.
This programe is the week after dave got bollocked by the authorities for using precieved by them foul words so you can see he got a few bugger me words into his routine, he was actually sticking two fingers up at the media athorities, what a great man he was 🤣🤣👍
Your reaction to the fart was priceless…….nice to see you watching Dave 👍
When you lost it at his impression of a pissed fart 🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of these days you are going to fall back over in your chair with laughter. your reactions are funny.
Boomer, if people are telling you to stop pausing the videos, tell them to shut up, the whole point of your pausing the videos to give your reaction is the whole bloody point, it's called giving your reaction to these videos! 😎🏹🙏

The C word came from the 12th century. Originally it started with a Q and was Quointe and meant a gap in a hedge

Niles the British butler from "The Nanny" is from Arkansas...
I got to how old to find out "Spinal Tap" weren't British?????????? Off on a Google search, brilliant!
Took the words out of my mouth... when you said about Brits doing american accents; the first person that came to mind was Idris Elba, i had seen him in a British show before i watched the wire but that accent he does in the wire is very believable
Most people outside the US do an american accent quite good because we are so familiar with it, on tv, in the movies etc.
King Boomer, your laughter is a great way to start my day off out here on the west coast. Actors usually work with language coaches for months to perfect the accent required. Love Idris Elba. Dave Allen was so great when I was groowing up. Another taken way too soon.
This clip was taken a week after he had been chastised for using the F word on live TV 📺. This was his reply to the BBC.
I remember that. There were nearly 100 complaints about it and every newspaper had written about it.

Love your comments, rambling and pausing, all good here
Another great reaction. Have you noticed that he is missing half of the first finger on the left hand yet?
That’s when you know you’ve got a good comedian, you cry with laughter. And Dave always yes did. That to me.
Hey Boomer....yer muppet ! Greetings from a fellow muppet across the pond. Your channel, your rules.... More dave Allen, please
You have do do Dave's telling the time... it is perfect! The best piece of comedy ever written!
OMG you are so spot on, I've loved Dave and George for years and never made that connection.
Yeah back in the day Dave had to play nice due to the restrictions, and his style was never really blue anyway, Whilst George Carlin was a rebel, but they are so similar.
Being as the accent changes about every five miles in the UK getting a couple of American accents must be fairly easy.
The UK has had so many international influences by far the most is from the US over the past century. We also have a massive intermix of Irish, Caribbean Indian and so many others in a far shorter time than the US did so it comes across in humour, drama, and I hope it continues.
Dave Allen was Irish, he's not from the UK. He made his career as a comedian in the UK but he was Irish.
Dave Allen had it in his contract, only so many repeats and then never shown again. It's why so little of his material still remains
Dave Allen a great irsh man he's got the irsh story telling i listening to old irsh mean tellijng story for yrs .
Brilliant brIllant comedian and entertainer. RIP. A sad loss.🙏🙏🙏

You REALLY need to see the 2 Ronnies “ four candles “ you’ll LOVE it !
Irish gentleman of comedy hardly any bad language. Love him.
They're trying to create a Hollywood fairytale world where everything is a perfect lie.
Dave Allen, the absolute "Dogs Bollocks" mate.
Swearing, who swears?, that's complete and utter bollocks. 🤣😂

I highly recommend that you watch Dave Allen’s ‘Is Ed in?’ It’s absolutely hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I knew a very nice, well born lady of rather noble family connections, beautiful English cut glass accent, tall & willowy
In her 60s at the time but had been incredibly beautiful in her youth & was still an amazingly good looking older Lady
With a terrific sense of humour & with good & trusted friends with her, she could be persuaded to do her party piece
This would be the to the accompanying well know song played on the record player
( yes some of us die hards still love vinyl)
She would then stand, all 5ft 11ins & begin to fart in tune along with the record!
I kid thee not, this is hand on heart true, her only display of travail was pumping her arms up & down whilst bent at the elbows as if she was running
There was never any odour at all & there are people who can do this, its medically proven that some can control pressure of the sphincter muscles of the anus & by clenching them with minute guaged pressure & release can force out a tunefull .. fart
There was a famous farter who did this on stage & took requests for farting to popular tunes & he was called Le Pettomane or Pettomaine i cant remember exact spelling but he was rather .marvellous this was in 1900s France btw
Take care 🇬🇧👧
I loved this and your reactions too. ❤️😂😂😂
Used to love his story telling.
Us Brits have so many accents in the UK , we find it easy to impersonate other accents like American , we all grew up watching sesame street and so many American shows and movies 👍🏼
I love all your chit chat don’t be apologising love Dave Allen years ago when he did these shows
'No cursing'??? That's no British content on RUclips then! 🤣🤣 Love your reactions Boomer 👏👏
Comedians in tje seventies didnt swear on television.
Rick grimmes character from the walking dead is a really good example of a brit doing an American accent.
Damien Lewis in Homeland or Band of Brothers (of which half the cast were Brits).
Great Irish comic and story teller.
Mcnulty was a Brit too, So was the Polish Police chief who was trying to get his stained glass in the church. Talking of The Wire.
"The Irish George Carlin" - I think he would have liked that! His TV shows were sanatised to cut out the "bad language" of his live shows btw! :) Greetings from Ireland btw!
Animal: "BOOOMin' BOOOMin' - - - attacks drum kit - - - hargh, hargh, haaaaAAAAAARGH!"
Dave was a legend 👍🏼
Dave is a good one. He would hate grifters. Happy grifting
Because there are hundreds of American dialects, it's hard to completely miss.
A lot of people have commented that Hugh Laurie in House has a good US accent. Some people think he is American.
This Boomerang is a day late.; and I'm normally so regular, Soz. I call me old mate Mick 'Mucker' and he has many names for me. And one of them must be 'Shut the fuck up Janne'. Arhh! were the beard?

One can pass comments without falling 'fowl' of second person plural in the pipe. Then there is Latin and Anglo-Saxon. Personally, I find a sense of the ridiculous keeps me calm and practically nothing upsets me.
Can't believe Dave Allen passed away as long ago as 2005.!
4:23 Probably one of the "best of" reactions in a video
An example of how well British actors can do American accents? Hugh Laurie in "House".
Good content Boomers! love your videos!
Hi from Scotland.🏴🇬🇧
Dave Allen was a very clever comic...
Right on time for my lunch break 👌
Salman Rushti was an author who offended people with one of his books and received life threats. He went into hiding for quite awhile. After telling off from BBC and doing this program Dave jokingly expected the same treatment.
I can do quite a few English accents. I'm 62 so have had lots of opportunities to practise. Also, I'm English.
Great videos King B! Try Peter Kay weddings.
loved your reaction to the pissed fart
You can react to Dave Allen telephone one. That was classic one.
You like Dave Allen. I do too. Try Jasper Carrot. Very similar routines.
0h..shit, I stepped in dog do do.... brilliant.
You want to buy some shit...?? Ha.🤣
Brilliant love it
Really enjoy the reaction video's. Maybe check out Bob Monkhouse. He was quite well known for being able to come out with a joke or one liner off the cuff.
''How's it going you 'BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE''. THAT'S what you should call us!
Na, I'm a muppet
P.s I think the reason for non Americans being so good at doing your accents is down to the huge volume of entertainment the US has exported around the world.
"Hello you beautiful person" is used by Anton Petrov on his videos. I don't think you should use a slightly altered version of this.
Timing...master of it
Dave Allen was unique and we shall not see his likes again.
The biggest shock with accents I got was with Gillian Anderson from X files. I had no idea she was a brit.
She’s not,she went to school here.
