Yes, I did learn something! Thank you for making these for us gen 8 Civic owners!
Appreciate you Adam
Thanks for the shared knowledge and experience, Danny.
Just did this job yesterday. Followed every step. Thanks Danny. One thing I struggled the most was the rubber grommet wouldn’t let me take out the lower air box. Other than that pretty simple. You the best. Learning so much from you.
Appreciate your kindness
Removing the top cowel is genius to get clearance because it’s a pain to remove it without doing that
Thanks again Danny, very good videos. I have a 2008 Honda Civic, and your videos have helped me a lot. God Bless.
appreciate you buddy. 👍
Excellent video Danny! Thank you! My Honda throttle body needs a good cleaning!
Appreciate your support
Danny, I just happened upon your channel today. I just inherited my old 2010 Honda Civic from my dad. (I was the first (NEW) owner, and then I gave it to him when I paid it off, and now I got it back from him). I am going to start from the beginning of your Honda Civic Maintenance playlist and do some necessary updates and maintenance on it. Keep up the great work. I learned a lot so far! It's got 180,000 miles on it, so I am hoping to keep it on the road until my 11 year old learns how to drive in a few years.
Their good reliable cars, glad to have you a subscriber 👍🏼
Muchas gracias por compartir su experiencia, y me gustaría que hiciera un vídeo enseñando como reprogramar el cuerpo de aceleración, gracias
Just bought a 2010 Civic LX, saw a couple of maintenance video you've released for this car and really learning a lot of the ins & out of this car. This is something im looking for. Really appreciate your taking the time to make a video for this vehicle. Thank you Danny.
Glad to help! Appreciate you watching and commenting
GREAT camera shots/angles!!
Glad you enjoyed it, appreciate that
Thanks for the great video.i've got to do the same for my civic mk8 2008.
I do appreciate you commenting, thanks for your gratitude
Nice demonstration.
Thank you!
Hi Danny i just check it your channel and watched some of your videos it always look great with explanation. i'm owned a 8th civic si with a 238,000 miles it still running. Thanks for sharing your video. i give you a subscribe.
Glad to have you, appreciate your support
I plan on cleaning my Sis throttle body but wonder if the mounting gasket will need replacement after the cleaning.
I've learned a lot watching your videos over the last few weeks, Danny. I appreciate the time and effort you put into them. I do want to request a video if you might not have already created it. How to set the correct torque for the style of wrench used in this video.
The next video I use my tongue wrench in, I’ll do a step by step on setting up the torque wrench 👍🏼
1. Find your colour code on drivers door.
2. Get a few cans of your car colour mixed up single stage.
3.Paint the entire panel 2-3 coats
4. for best results use 2 part 2k clear coat.
5. Wet sand buff.
Working on a Honda Civic 2006 ex everything in the video is perfect I just had a question about the carburetor there are two black aluminum pieces where you screw all 4 screws pieces does the vehicle need them or no ?
I’m not sure what you’re referring to, send a picture to dannysdiygarage@gmail.com
very good
Appreciate it
Does anyone know the oem honda # for the o ring gasket?
Grasias
Appreciate that
I have a question, Danny After following your video on changing my ATF fluid and filter in my Honda civic Ex 2010 it has come to my attention my rpm’s aren’t matching nor shifting correctly how they were before I did the change… any tips? What could have happened?
Did you use the correct fluid, and how many mile are on your vehicle?
Thank you Danny, do you have to do a idle relearning.
Yes, there’s a manual procedure, I thought I linked it at the end of the video, I have a recently posted video on it on my channel
@@dannysdiygarage Yes, you are right. My Honda accord 2004 is eratic sometimes. I will follow the procedure. Thank you for your responds.
I’ve seen several videos but you were the only one that removed the 2 panels at the top in the beginning of the video which saves time and effort, the only concern is that is it recomienden to open the throttle body by hand while you clean it since is electronically operate it? Thanks.
if you are uncomfortable with doing this by hand you can plug it in and do this by pushing the accelerator pedal down, that works too, however you will need to clear code afterwards
@@dannysdiygarage thanks Danny.
Another great video Sir, Question? i heard you have to do a reprogramming did you have to do that on car and how many times have you cleaned throttle body over the life of car, and how many miles on car when you cleaned it., And are you doing a sunroof drain tube cleaning soon, thks again
I can do a sunroof cleaning video, I’ll add it to my list, as far as the reprogramming after a throttle body cleaning, I did not, the pcm will adjust it automatically eventually, however, on one of my Civics it took two weeks of driving for the pcm to find the idle sweet spot, if it’s having trouble disconnecting the battery helps, but yes a relearn is the best and quickest remedy, there is a manual relearning procedure, I’ll make a video for that in the next coming weeks
Thanks for your great videos on civic, just bought a 2007 here in Norway, love it, how often should we do this clean and why?
90,000, unless you’re having idle issues
@@dannysdiygaragele agradecería nos enseñará como calibrar el cuerpo de aceleración 😢
was the idle running high after this? no idle relearn after this right? gonna do this for my civic soon.
On one of my Civics it was fine and the other it took about 3 weeks of driving to finally learn where it needed to be, the computer will adjust it, it usually is within a few minutes, but sometimes it’s days
@@dannysdiygarage was this civic fine? i heard you can have the car relearn it by revving the engine to 3k rpms and holding it there for 3 mins upon start up!
Yes, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, then reconnect, there is a manual relearn, it doesn’t always work, sometimes you just need to give it time
Can a dirty throttle body cause the car to stutter when accelerating and will even stall ?
Yes clean it then do idle relearn
Did you put a new gasket on it?
no, I used the same gasket
@@dannysdiygarage Did you do the idle relearn after replacing
No, I didn’t need to
I am not sure why you decided to remove the entire cowling other than to film it easier. I have performed this service twice on my Civic and didn't see the need to remove it.
Try it next time, it’s sooo much easier
Agree removing this is the best tip I’ve ever seen for clean the throttle body
After completely clean the throttle (idle control valve), do you need to "relearn the system"?
Take it to dealer to reset the rmp or let me idle for 15 to 20 minutes?
Mine rpm is low as 600 rpm. It makes the car little shake when idling. Thanks for your help.
There’s a manual procedure, I’ll upload a video on it this week
@@dannysdiygarage Cool. Thank you.
