Come on, OP has a point. Whole the racing line may nt always give you the best instructions, it at least gives you a reference from which to pick a braking point. That is invaluable on tracks, where brake markers are hard to find. So racing with the ideal line off should be the bare minimum if you ask me
Love this series, we need more like this! That car that kept swerving on the straight was acting illegally. On a straight, you are only allowed to make one defensive move off the racing line. Swerving back and forth is seen as unsportsmanlike and ultimately unsafe.
You should look at your throttle, as you are flickering below 100% on the straights and basically you are loosing laptime all the time. Make sure you are truly pinned to the max! Might be hardware or software, you need to troubleshoot.
Just watched all of your videos through. Great stuff you really have a talent for making videos. I can definately see your racing IQ increasing too. I tried the F4 for the first time the other day and got a DQ haha. It's a lot differerent to the Vee. I'm trying to get my IRating back up to 2k, it's taking a while. I feel as soon as anyone gets to 2k they have a massive dip. Anyway good luck I hope to see you in a race sometime!
It's better to have the radar. The spotter isn't always on time. It is better to not wreck than worry about "realism". In sim racing we loose vision so aids are ok to prevent accidents with others.
im just starting out a coupple comnths after you. almost at D class in all non dirt catigories. how do you get more then one black box so i dont gotta keep siwtching mid fight with a dude

A couple things I’ve noticed. 1. You occasionally dip below full throttle on the straights which is costing you a bit of time. 2. Since the F4 car doesn’t have that much power, you can punch it out of corners harder than you think.
Loving watching this, but I reckon you should do some more practice and use a lot more of the track especially on the exits. And learn where the track limits are
Loving the series so far man. If you're interested, I do some driver coaching on iracing (around 4.1k in open wheel rn, so not alien levels, but decently quick). I'd be happy to do the first session for free if you're interested, could make for a good video!
@@BaileySavva my first sim was logitech too, it started glitching after a year and also was randomly disconnecting, so i moved to fanatec and still happy, 3+ years usage and everything works like day1, but downside is its quiet expensive
What’s the point of defending your position early/mid race? You are losing time off cars in front you’ll never claw back. A faster car will eventually make it through if they have enough laps to do it
since i am racing the f4 at the moment aswell i often find myself in the same situation as you with a faster car behind and i always do mistakes i think its because i look to much into the mirror. i noticed the same mistakes in your video so i think you are looking to much into your mirror

I was about to say this exact thing. You are allowed to make one move to defend, after that you have to stay on your line.

Hey, i see you’re weaving quite a bit in your defense. Blocking and reactive moves are against the rules, keep it to one move and stick to that line

Seen lots of passing/improving position under yellow this week, and yet iRacing is dynamite on track limits.... The irony is not missed.
I installed iRacing, and the first thing I did was turn off the racing line. I've never used it. A-B Class in all licenses.
Turn the brake throttle and steering inputs hud info in so we can what you’re doing

how long did it take to go from ff1600 to f4
when starting the series i was already d licence but it only takes 10 races in rookies to get to f4

The driving standards in F4 are so bad. You did well to avoid most of it.

yea i agree, in future races im not going to defend as hard against faster drivers
@@BaileySavva only if there are a few laps left then defend against everyone, but if you see they are faster it is best to let them go early/mid race.
